1. I Love My School Shoes!/Guess Who’s Shoes? Take pictures of everyone’s shoes. Top- I love my -------- shoes! Middle – picture of student shoe. When you lift up the picture of shoes/ flip up- students face underneath. Student can write name. My name is ____________ Bottom- Guess who? 2. Who Am I? Flip Book- Under flap is picture Bottom of page My name starts with B. Who Am I? 3. Mouse Shape, Ellen Stoll Walsh Create book making objects with different color shapes. Life Cycle Of A Butterfly Staple 4/5 pages together and have students watch and record the stages of a butterfly (caterpillar, caterpillar getting bigger, eating leaves, chrysalis, butterfly, let go outside). 15. Favorite Cereal Ask students to bring in the box from their favorite cereal. Cut off the front of the box. On sentence strip have student write: name eats type of cereal.

Kindergarten Photo Booth During a special event in kindergarten (Halloween) set up a photo booth for students to express how they feel. They can write in the speech bubble what they want to say and later print it and make a book. 17. Envelope Book Staple or punch and put on a metal ring several envelopes. This book works well if you are writing a book with small pieces (number books, nature books, sequence books, rhyming book: hat/cat/fat/mat/bat/sat/ Guess Who?: student name/ picture inside). 18. The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Eric Carle Copy pieces for the book. Have the students color and cut pieces out. Students glue into a pre-made flip book and then write their own story. Pencil Pocket Number Book/ Students could make their own with a zip-lock bags Attach several pencil pockets together with book rings. Label each pocket with a number. Child select the number to toys or other small items and place them in the pocket. (Could also be used with letters and sounds.) 23. Long Story Students write story out on a paper tape from an adding machine. Student when done can roll up and put a rubber band to keep it together. 24. Napkin/Greeting Card/Post Card Cut paper the size of the napkin for greeting card and staple 4-5 sheets inside to make a book.
