Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship The Opportunity Pektron are delighted to be able to offer a Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship in partnership with Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited and Burton, South Derbyshire College. This a 4 year apprenticeship starting in September 2013 working towards an NVQ level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (potentially moving on to complete NVQ level 4). For the first two years you will train on site at Toyota UK within their Apprentice Development centre, with some placement weeks at Pektron. During the 3rd and 4th years you would be based at Pektron.

After successful completion of the scheme, you will join Pektron's maintenance team, full time, to continue on your career path into the world of Engineering and Maintenance. You must have, or be expecting 4 GCSE at grade C or above including Maths, English and Science.

Pektron Manufacturing Seven fully automated high speed lines each placing electronic components as small as 0.5mm x 0.25mm at speeds of up to 210,000 components per hour per line  (that’s  58  components  per   second!).

Maintenance The Career After successful completion of your Apprenticeship you will join Pektron's Maintenance team full time to continue on your career path into the world of Engineering and Maintenance. In this interesting and technically varied role you will be able to put the comprehensive training you will have received, and the new skills you will have learned, to good use in a wide variety of applications. These include: • • • • •

Installation, reconfiguration and requalification of the latest fully automated high tech production lines to assemble Printed Circuit Boards Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical and Electronic repair and maintenance of automated production and test equipment . Process improvement and development Programming of computer controlled machines. Installation and maintenance of site services.

The learning never stops, and you will be expected to attend periodic retraining both at home and abroad to keep your skills relevant and up to date.
