Introduction This document describes a step-by-step procedure for obtaining, uploading, and flashing system software (firmware) onto the AML M7225 series handhelds. Be sure to read this document in its entirety before attempting to update the M7225 handheld.

Understanding the Firmware Image Types The M7225 Hand-held is offered in with a standard wireless radio, a high-power SUMMIT radio, or no radio at all. It is very important that the correct Operating System firmware is flashed on the M7225 unit. FLASHING THE WRONG FIRMWARE IMAGE MAY PREVENT THE M7225 UNIT FROM OPERATING. If your M7225 model number begins with “M7225-0” or “M7225-1”, use the Windows CE 6.0 Firmware for standard radios

No Radio or Standard Radio

If your M7225 model number begins with “M7225-2”, use the Windows CE 6.0 Firmware for SUMMIT radios
