Thank you to everyone who lit the night with “Ella’s lights” to honor her memory. Ella Bothwell was a very special little princess, who touched many hearts here in Lost Plantation and will be missed greatly. PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Rickey Williams Hello neighbors First let me welcome all newcomers to our community and we thank you for choosing Lost Plantation. Lost Plantation growth continues with new homes still being built as well as the normal rotation of new residents from property sales. I invite you to join and explore our facebook page and as always, visit our website to view and stay updated on our covenants, policies and community information. We are always looking for volunteers and committee members to assist with the many activities of the community. Maintaining the community and serving our community does have it challenges; especially when our volunteer pool is limited. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us at lostplantationhoa@ gmail.com . Tell us your interests, talents, skills and let’s put them to work in the community! The board got off to a slow start, but we are starting to understand

our roles and how those roles improve/impact the community as a whole. We are dedicated to insuring we maintain the high level of standards that is the trademark of Lost Plantation and its residents. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) is made up of volunteers that review all ARC requests and performs compliance audits throughout the community. Please refer to the LP website for information on how to submit ARC requests for review. I would encourage all residents to perform a refresher of our covenants and policies. I receive many emails from concerned residents who are your neighbors, friends, church members and coworkers regarding the community from aesthetics concern to unsafe conditions. I would ask that we all respect our neighbors, their property, privacy and their right to harmonious living. The Rincon Police Department is looking for ways to get to know the community. They are hosting events such as breakfast with a cop at Burger King and possibly other locations in the future. They will normally publish these events on our facebook page......so come out and let support our local law enforcers. From my discussions with them, crime in Lost Planation is almost non-existent. It’s

been communicated in the past there were some folks who had items stolen from their OPEN garages and UNLOCKED vehicle doors. Two key words “OPEN & UNLOCKED” these are inviting for quick thefts so when you are NOT present or actively using lock em’ up. We are working to have the pool ready to open on May 1st. We had the decks, patio furniture and fencing power washed in preparation. The next step is to have the pools cleaned, prepped and treated for the summer pool season. The HOA has been in communication with the city regarding pool and tennis court parking. As of now there is NO dedicated LP pool or tennis court parking. The city has been gracious to allow LP residents to park on their property. With the increase interest in golfing at LP Golf course, the City of Rincon has asked us if we could pursue other avenues for pool and tennis court parking. No hard deadline has been set and we are considering alternatives for our parking. We will post any updates to the LP website and facebook as information is available. I can be reached at [email protected] Sincerely, Rickey Williams

Spring has sprung and we are entering growing season. Lawns should be mowed and trimmed, landscaping should be tidy, siding and trim should be clean and free of soil/mold, and lots should be devoid of trailers, boats, RV’s, campers and other items in accordance with the Declaration of Covenants. If you are short on time or going on vacation, there are a good number of folks living in Lost Plantation, in addition to local businesses, who you can hire to care for your landscaping and pressure cleaning needs. The neighbor to neighbor classifieds and LP Facebook page are a great way to connect. Let’s keep Lost Plantation a beautiful place to call home. If you have a very temporary situation (moving trailer, loading up RV, etc...) please communicate it to the ARC as a courtesy to help avoid any misunderstandings. The ARC is a volunteer committee and it is a daunting task to look after nearly 450 homeowner lots. The recent windy weather has been testing the tennis court windscreens. Thank you to volunteer Richard Levey for taking the time to go through and re-secure them with zip ties. Preparations for pool season are underway. Hugo Hernandez and David Griffin are heading up the pool committee this summer. DoneRight services pressure cleaned the pool deck and furniture. Weed Pools will be completing pre-season maintenance and coordinating the health department inspection. Weed Pools has recently joined the Pool Management Group under the Coastal Pool Management division umbrella of companies. The contract pricing, and local team of Weed

Pools employees servicing the pool remains the same, so the change will be transparent to us as a client. The broken water fountain in the breezeway will be replaced, broken chaises and umbrellas will be discarded, and we will add several new furnishings and umbrellas. We will have a security guard at the pool again this summer. Our anticipated opening date is May 1st, pending receipt of our county pool permit. Please check to make sure you have your household pool keycard. If you require a replacement, please email Kim Griffin at [email protected]. We receive a large number of pool card requests at the beginning of each pool season, so please do not wait until the last minute. Pool cards for any address with a delinquent account will be disabled. The social committee is planning a pool party for June; please contact Becca Peavey, Dana Flood or Carolina Hutchinson if you are interested in helping out. Date and details to follow - to be posted on Facebook and at the pool. YARD OF THE MONTH

Blair Fitts Yard of the Month will begin in April. A $25 gift card to Lowes will be awarded for the winning yard; one attractive and well maintained yard will be chosen each month. To nominate a yard you feel is deserving, contact Blair Fitts via the Lost Plantation HOA Facebook page, or email the HOA at [email protected]. LANDCAPE COMMITTEE

David Griffin The live oak trees lining the first few lots along Lockner Rd. were trimmed by Bartlett Tree Service in March. A pine tree on Lockner, between the two intersec-

tions with Walthour had low lying branches trimmed, and should no longer interfere with passing vehicles. In addition, 4 dead trees were removed off of Keller and Plantation Rd. The two wooden benches at the Dresler Rd. playground will be replaced by concrete benches in the next month or so. DoneRight Services will be pressure washing the two playsets at the Dresler and St. Andrews playgrounds. The vegetation just behind the white fence along Ft. Howard Rd. will be trimmed back by the Greenery, and the white fence will be pressure cleaned by DoneRight and subsequently repainted. The Greenery has performed preseason irrigation checks. There are several repairs required to the entrance irrigation. Seasonal flowers and new pine straw will be installed at the entrances and pool, and pine straw will be applied to the rest of common area plantings around May. The message boards located at the entrances will be cleaned and painted as well. All damaged recliners and chairs from the pool area are being removed and will be taken to the landfill.
