Lost Immigrants Technical Rider 3

Lost Immigrants travels with a minimum of five (5) individuals (four musicians and one road manager) and maximum of six (6) (Lost Immigrants will bring a soundman should the Purchaser opt to rent Lost Immigrants’s sound system for the event). The costs of travel expenses for the concert can be estimated by the booking agent for the concert after all directions have been received. All directions, maps, schedules, notes, and contact names and numbers pertaining to the concert should be in possession of Craig Hinkle at Maxman Productions one week prior to show. If Lost Immigrants is flying in, please provide transportation for Lost Immigrants' stay in town. This includes transportation from the airport to the venue and back, and between the hotel and the venue.

Permits/Insurance: The Purchaser is responsible for any and all permits, licenses, certificates, authorizations, or any other approvals needed for any reason whatsoever. This does include any insurance needs for the venue and/or equipment. The Purchaser is encouraged to secure a one million-dollar ($1,000,000) public insurance policy that adequately covers all liabilities concerning injuries or damage to people or property. Lost Immigrants should be added to the insurance policy for the event (should there be one) and is to be held harmless from all liability.

Each of the (3) drops needs to contain four (4) grounded outlets.

Sound Engineer If the Purchaser is providing the sound system for the event, the Purchaser should provide a competent sound technician or technicians to aid in the setup of the sound system, aid in microphone placement and set the band levels during sound check, and to run the board(s) during the show. If Lost Immigrants is to bring their own system, Lost Immigrants will provide a sound technician of their own unless the Purchaser is notified otherwise .

Sound System: Please consult with Lost Immigrants to determine whether your venue’s sound system will be sufficient for the concert. If the venue is not equipped with a sufficient sound system for the concert, the Purchaser can either: 1. Provide the sound system (PA system) for the concert according to the following specifications. 2. Rent the sound system from Lost Immigrants. Should you choose to rent Lost Immigrants’ system, please notify Craig Hinkle. The following should be referred to a local live sound professional… The sound system used for the concert should be capable of reproducing high quality, distortion free, full range audio (from 50Hz to 18kHz) at 107 dB C weighting at the front of the mix position. In most venues, the average mix level will fluctuate around 102 dB.

House Cabinets: It is important that the house speaker cabinets be capable of providing a full range of sound. There are two components to this request. First, the cabinets used must provide adequate coverage for the seating area based on the size of the venue and the amount of people expected to attend. Second, subwoofers are almost always needed to enhance the low end of the sound spectrum. Some manufacturers of speaker cabinets that satisfy these needs are JBL, Mackie, EAW, Apogee, Clair Bros., Turbosound, Community, Adamson, Meyer, QSC and Electro Voice. Monitors: Lost Immigrants will need a total of four (4) monitor mixes — one for each player. Lost Immigrants requests that five (5) monitor wedges of at least 250w output be made available to the band — one (1) for each member and two (2) for the lead vocalist. Any changes to these requirements such as mix options for possible in-ear monitor use can be discussed with an Lost Immigrants representative. House Console: The FOH (Front Of House) console must have at least twenty-four (24) input channels. If the console provided is being used to run both FOH and monitor mixes, then the console will need to have a minimum of four (4) auxiliary mixes (all pre-fader if possible). If the console is only for FOH, four (4) post auxiliary mixes are needed. Mackie, Yamaha, Crest, Soundcraft, Midas and Allen & Heath are some suggested brands of soundboard. Outboard Effects Gear: The following are the minimum requirements for effects and dynamics processors: One (1) programmable digital effects processors with reverb and delay Six (6) channels of patchable compressors Three to four (3-4) channels of patchable gates (compressors with built-in gates are acceptable) Microphones/Direct Boxes: Please refer to the input list attached to this document for further details on microphone, direct box, line input, and compressor/gate placement. House Drive: The specific type of drive system is not as important as the quality of the system and its ability to provide a maximum degree of control over the house speakers. This may be achieved through either a dual 1/3 octave EQ unit or a digital processor. System compression is mandatory. The input snake must be capable of at least twenty-four (24) inputs and ten (10) sends with a split to the monitor console at the same time. A CD player is appreciated to provide music before and after the event. Should you be unsure as to whether or not your sound system provides for Lost Immigrants' needs, please consult a local live sound professional or music store.

Backline Gear Lost Immigrants will provide all guitars, guitar heads, cabinets, basses, bass rig, drums and cymbals unless the concert is a fly date or a festival. In the case of a fly date or a festival, Lost Immigrants requests the following backline gear: Drums: DW, Ludwig, Yamaha, Premier, Tama, or Pork Pie 4 piece kit (kick, snare, rack tom, floor tom), one (1) hi-hat stand, three (3) cymbal boom stands, tom stands (if needed), one (1) drum throne, one (1) bass drum pedal, one (1) pair of AA or HH Sabian Hi-Hats, two (2) AA , AAX, or HH Sabian Crash Cymbals (16" and 18" preferred), one (1) AA or HH Sabian Ride Cymbal (20"). Drums should have top and bottom heads, relatively new. Guitar: 1) 2 Fender DeVilles (either 2x12 combo or 1x12 Hot Rod Deluxe) OR Marshall, Vox, Soldano or Mesa Boogie heads with 2x12 cabinets Bass: Ampeg, SWR, or Eden are acceptable brands. Please provide either a combo amp or head and cabinet. A combo amp should have at least one (1) 15” speaker and provide at least 150 watts. A head and cabinet combination should include a head of the brands above and have sufficient wattage to power a 2X12 or 4X10 cabinet of the same brand. Lost Immigrants would like to be able to use their own equipment in all circumstances, regardless of billing as a headlining or opening act. If Lost Immigrants is the opening act and using their own equipment presents a problem, Lost Immigrants is flexible. An agreement should be reached between the Purchaser and Lost Immigrants as to the equipment that will be available to Lost Immigrants for use at least two (2) weeks prior to the concert. Lost Immigrants prefers that opening bands use their own equipment. If this presents a problem, an agreement should be reached between the Purchaser, Lost Immigrants, and any opening bands as to the equipment to be made available to opening acts at least two (2) weeks prior to the concert.

Lighting: Lights always add visual excitement to a show. Many venues are not equipped with concert lighting. We ask that the Purchaser provide a concert lighting system appropriate for a rock concert. Some suggestions for such a setup include the standard PAR cans on a lighting truss, color washes, moving programmable lights (such as i-beams), and/or a scrim or backdrop behind the stage for backlighting.

Lost Immigrants Technical Rider 6

Lost Immigrants requests a minimum of twenty-four (24) 500w PAR64 cans equally distributed on two sections of truss positioned upstage and downstage. Lighting trees can be used for the downstage PAR cans. Dimmers for the PAR cans need to be capable of providing the maximum degree of output for the entire lighting system. The lighting console provided should be capable of controlling the entire lighting system. A lighting technician or technicians should be present to setup and run the lights for the concert. Lighting is a luxury, but one that we feel adds significant excitement to the show. If you have any questions about providing a lighting system, please contact a local lighting professional or music store.

Sound Check: To make sure that Lost Immigrants puts on the best possible show, a sound check should be performed at least two (2) hours before the doors open. Sound check requires that the sound technician(s) running the monitor mix and/or front of house sound system(s) be present to set levels. Sound check should be private and only sound, lighting, and stage technicians should be present.

Dressing Room/Green Room: The Purchaser should provide a dressing room or green room large enough to comfortably fit five (5) people. This room will be used for changing and pre-event preparation. If possible, the room should be private and as close as possible to the backstage area. A restroom facility should be located as close by as possible. Please have at least two (2) bottled waters for each band member as well as a small assortment of various fruits (optional). Lost Immigrants will also need access to room with either (1) a computer with internet access or (2) a phone line so that we can plug our laptop in and check email. Access to a fax machine would also be extremely helpful.

Merchandise: The Purchaser should provide a single table and two chairs for Lost Immigrants to use in setting up a merchandise booth. The table should be located in a high traffic area of the venue (such as near the entrance and/or exit). Please also provide at least one (1), preferably two (2) trustworthy individuals to run the merchandise table. Lost Immigrants will meet with these individuals prior to the show to explain their responsibilities. No merchandise fee will be paid by Lost Immigrants unless agreed to by Lost Immigrants in writing prior to the signing of this rider. Lost Immigrants will retain 100% of all merchandise sales. The full amount agreed upon in the contract that is owed to Lost Immigrants for the show should be paid to Lost Immigrants by the end of the concert. Payment is accepted in the form of check, cashier's check or cash. Please make all checks out to Lost Immigrants.

Cancellation: Lost Immigrants shall have the privilege of cancellation/postponement by giving thirty (30) days notice if possible. This may be done without liability to Lost Immigrants.

Rider Alterations: Please contact Lost Immigrants according to the contact sheet provided if any changes in this rider are necessary.
