LADIES’ GOLF PROGRAMS

2016 1

Ladies' Golf Programs Wednesday Morning 9 Holers In 2014, we started a new Ladies’ event on Wednesday mornings for those ladies who want to just play 9 holes, have a little fun, and NOT have to pay for prizes. We will have a different format every Wednesday morning, and we will keep a “Weekly Champions” Board up in the Ladies’ Locker room that denotes that weeks’ winners. There will be no prize money, therefore no cost as well. You may make a tee time as an individual, or as your own group. After playing 9 holes, you may continue on and play 18 if you wish. The key is to just have fun, relax, and enjoy your friends! Ladies’ Thursday Evening Golf (LTEG) In LTEG, ladies sign up as 4-lady teams, and we count only 1 Net Best Score per hole of the 4 ladies. We will keep a running total for each of three (3) sessions for the summer (May, June and July). The 4-lady team concept was designed in order to allow ladies to play with their own groupings, but also allow them to substitute in other members if someone from the original 4 cannot be present. If not all 4 can be present, the team can still post a score for the evening if only 1, 2 or 3 of the original members can play. By using the 1 Net Best Score format, ladies can still compete without being 2

discouraged by a bad hole or two. This format will reduce the pressure to “perform” a little, but it will still give those wanting to post a good score a chance to compete. In addition to the regular nights of competition, we will hold 3 Free Clinics starting at 5PM on May 12, June 16, and July 14 (see schedule below). A team signup sheet will be posted in the Ladies’ Locker Room on February 14th. Cost: The cost to play in the Ladies’ Thursday Evening Golf will be $120 per team, which includes 3 session payouts and nightly flag prizes. Carts are separate charges. As a reminder, you must have a GHIN handicap (or be enrolled in the GHIN system) to participate in LTEG. Ladies not currently in the GHIN system will be added after signups are complete. Format: We will count 1 Net Best Score for each team (all 4 team members do NOT have to be present, and substitutes may be used as well). Even if only 1 of you can play, your team can still post a team score. There will be a running team total, and there will be a payout for all 3 sessions. Time: Ladies will shotgun off both 9’s at 5:45PM. Session Dates/Event: Thu 4/28 “Spring Training” Night, 6PM Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a discussion on 2014 Ladies’ Thursday Evening Golf procedures. Session #1 Dates: 5/5, 5/12(clinic at 5PM), 5/19, 5/26(Final Night) Session #2 Dates: 6/9, 6/16(clinic at 5PM), 6/23, 6/30 (Final Night) Session #3 Dates: 7/7, 7/14(free clinic at 5PM), 7/21, 7/28(Final Night) Round Robin 4- Lady "Florida Scamble": Thu 8/25 at 5:45PM Handicap Reporting: In order to participate in LTEG, you must be registered in the GHIN handicap reporting system. AS A REMINDER…THE GOLF SHOP WILL BE POSTING ALL LTEG 9-HOLE SCORES. It is the responsibility of golfers to post their own scores on any day other than LTEG. During League play, the team captains are responsible for making sure that a score is posted for each player for each hole, and the total is added up and indicated on the scorecard. If you do not finish a hole, simply write down the “most likely” score you would have attained, as long as it is 10 or below. If the score would be more than 10, just record a 10. Assume you will hit the green from 50 yards and in, and count every putt over 3 feet long as a 2-putt.

NEW in 2016…Ladies' 2-Lady Fall League (LFL) Starting in 2016, we will be holding a more competitive Fall League on Thursday nights for ladies looking to compete. Teams will be made of of 2 players (you may have more than 2 ladies on your team who rotate in and out), and they will compete in a series of different 2-Lady Team formats (see list below). A Sign-Up Sheet for Ladies' Fall League (LFL) will be posted in the hallway next to the Player’s Lounge on July 1st. Due to limited sunlight, the shotgun start will be at 5:00PM. Cost will be $40 per team. The deadline for LFL sign-up will be August 14th. Thur 9/1 Thur 9/8 Thur 9/15 Thur 9/22 Thur 9/29

What's New for Ladies’ Golf at Lochland in 2016??? Ladies' May, June, July and August Stagettes Why should the guys have all of the fun??? In 2015, we tried our first Ladies' Friday Stagette, and it was a big hit. Each event will have a slightly different format, and two of the four events will feature our fun 8" cups. Price will be $20 per person for walkers and $36 per person for riders. Here are the dates: Friday, May 13th; 2:30PM Shotgun Friday, June 10th; 2:30PM Shotgun (8" cups) Friday, July 8th; 2:30PM Shotgun Friday, August 12th, 2:30PM Shotgun (8" cups)

Lochland Player's Club Division for Ladies Now that we have added 4 Stagettes to the calendar, we can have an official Lochland Ladies' Player's Club! By joining the Lochland Ladies' Player's Club (LLPC), you can save money on your entry fees to 7 different events, plus you will be eligible for the season-ending Ladies' Horserace that will be held Sunday, September 18th at 2:30PM. Part of the prize pool from the LLPC entry fees will be added to each event, with every single dollar being paid out as prizes. Following are the golf events that are included in the Lochland Ladies' Player's Club: Spring Start Opening 1-Person Scramble Ladies' May Stagette

Ladies' June Stagette Ladies' July Stagette Ladies' August Stagette Lochland Club Championship Fall Finish Closing 1-Person Scramble The price for the LLPC is $90 per person and includes all of your Entry Fees for the above events…this is a 30% savings over the regular event fees, plus you will be eligible to participate in the season-ending Horse Race if you win enough points in the 7-event schedule! Ladies' Fall Competitive League In the fall of 2015, the Golf Committee looked at the possibility of adding a competitive division to the regular Ladies' Thursday Evening Golf League. However, the Committee felt that it was important not to alter LTEG due to its significant growth in the number of ladies participating (last year we had 126 participants). For those ladies looking to play more competitive golf, we will be adding a Ladies' Competitive Fall League in September of 2016 (August is too busy with moms getting kids ready for school). This Fall League will be a series of different 9 hole, 2-Lady formats. We will pair your 2Lady team with another 2-Lady team for each evening. The price will be $40 per 2-Lady team (for the entire League), with all of the entry fees going towards prizes. Optional Memorial Day and Labor Day Events With our "new" golf course, we want to open the golf course for regular play all day on Labor Day and Memorial Day; however, if you would like to play for a little extra, we will be having optional 2-person, 2-Day 1-Net Best Ball events on both weekends. You and your partner can play EITHER Saturday OR Sunday, but you MUST play on Monday for a 2-day total (this guarantees everyone competing will have the same weather conditions for at least 1 round). You can make your own tee times and play in your own groups, and if you plan on playing all 3 days, you and your partner will need to declare whether your Saturday or your Sunday round will count in the 2-Day total. Price will be $40 per 2-man team. Signing up "online" for Golf Events at Lochland Country Club Starting in April of 2016, there will now be 3 ways to sign up for golf events at Lochland Country Club: 1. Lochland members will now be able to sign up for selected events through the website at Lochlandcc.com. Members will be able to sign up for any open event (excluding Leagues and outside events like the United Way, CCC, etc.) by going to the News & Events Section of the website and inputting player information under "Online Calendar Reservations". 2. Lochland members will still be able to sign up for events by utilizing the signup sheets next to the Player's Lounge and in the Ladies' Locker Room.

If you choose to use this method, please print legibly. If you are bringing a non-Member to an event, please make sure to include that individual's average 18 hole score next to their name. The golf professionals always check for official USGA handicaps, but if the person does not have a GHIN handicap, we can assign that person an event handicap based on their average 18 hole score. 3. The last way is to contact the Head PGA Professional, Hank McFarland in the Golf Shop. In order to keep information consistent, Hank will be the only individual in the Golf Shop who will sign up event participants. We want to make sure that name spellings and handicap information are accurate, and the best way is to have only one person handling that information. Early Fees and Late Fees for Events Running organized golf tournaments is a task that is expected from our golf professionals; however, it is becoming more difficult to do. Why? With today's technology, people are waiting longer to make decisions on their activities. With cell phones being almost ubiquitous, people are now waiting until the last minute to sign up for events. This makes it impossible to have scorecards, cart cards, hole assignments, pairings, handicapping and flights done properly before the event. In order to encourage our members to get signed up for events early, we will have an "Early Fee" and a "Late Fee" for events. If you sign up at least 24 hours before an event, you will be charged the Early Fee for the event. If you sign up inside of 24 hours for an event, the price will be $10 more per person. Most clubs have deadlines for participating in events, but we do not want to "turn away" latecomers by not allowing them to play. The additional "late fees" will be added to the prize pool of the event being held.
