OF COLLECT IONS OF PHOTOGRAPHS

FIAP decided to place collections of its artistic patrimony at the disposal of its members. So it hopes to satisfy many wishes. The Collection Service manages FIAP's artistic patrimony. This patrimony consists of the photographs and slides given to the Service by the candidates applying for a FIAP distinction. The Service produces circulating collections and manages them. The artistic patrimony of FIAP is stored mainly in the Musée de la Photographie de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland, and in the head quarters of FIAP in Paris, the remainder being actually with the FIAP Collection Service to form circulating Collections. The FIAP can lend collections of photographs to the operational members, to the IRFIAP and the ILFIAP members for exhibition or other purposes. There is an important requirement. They must always be presented as a collection belonging to the FIAP Artistic Patrimony. So in an exhibition, it is essential to place one or preferably two posters mentioning the source as the "Artistic Patrimony of FIAP". FIAP provides these posters, in French or English, on card in A4 size and also in digital form. The borrower is allowed to add a local language. The posters include the FIAP logo, the title of the collection and indicate that they are part of the Artistic Patrimony of FIAP. These posters must be exhibited with the collections. The applicants gaining FIAP honours donated the photographs of the artistic patrimony to FIAP. These authors declared and signed in writing their agreement for the use of the works in exhibition as mentioned above. Each collection is accompanied by a list giving the title of the work, the name of the author as well as the country. This list will be also sent in digital form by mail in the case the organizer should wish to make labels or his own lists, for example for a possible catalogue. Mentioning of the titles and the authors is obligatory. Ori gi na l Pr int C ol lecti o ns These are circulating collections of the original photographs. The photographs are all 30 x 40 cm or mounted on that size, except those of the Nature collection, which are 20 x 30 cm mounted on 40 X 50 cm. The following collections are currently available. The collection must be returned to the Director of the FIAP Collection Service within two months, unless special convention. Co lle ctio ns in d igital fo r m The images of these collections are scanned at high definition, of professional quality, retouched and with colour adjustment, allowing a quality reprint even in 40x60 cm size. These collections are especially intended for the realization of prestige exhibitions. They are supplied on one DVD or several CDs. The following collections are currently available. These collections should not be returned. However they may not be transmitted to a third party. A contract for the use of them has to be signed by the two parties.
