“The Sunshine Girls” from Devine Providence Village, Marple Newtown

In 2001 two lovely ladies, who were long time supporters of Thorncroft, bequeathed a generous gift to the Farm which is now known as The Sara and Toby Wolfberg Scholarship Fund for Therapeutic Horseback Riding. The “sisters” wanted to ensure that every rider would receive the unique therapy offered by Thorncroft regardless of their financial circumstances. Today it is our pleasure to pass this gift on to riders Ingrid, Kate and Kathleen from the program “Devine Providence Village in Marple Newtown, PA.” Ingrid, Kate and Kathleen have been rid-

ing at Thorncroft since 2008. Every Thursday afternoon at precisely 1:00 they appear. Their bright smiles and lovely personalities are so big, the entire Farm lights up. When their ride is over and the ladies leave we always wonder who got the most out of their time on the Farm, the instructors, our volunteers, or the ladies; it is a “win win” for all! With gratitude we thank the Wolfberg Sisters and with our own special joy we pass the scholarship on to the ladies Ingrid, Kate and Kathleen.

The Thorncroft Mission Our mission is to develop the physical and emotional well-being of all people including those with special needs. We are committed to personal growth and education in an equestrian environment of respect and love. Thorncroft is a member of: - Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) - The Pennsylvania Council on Therapeutic Horsemanship - The Riding for the Disabled Association

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

It is impossible within this space to thank everyone who has helped to make this evening such a wonderful event. We would however like to express our appreciation to the following friends for making tonight the spectacular evening that it is. This year we are most proud of the artwork, layout and design of our invitation and the evening’s program book. Special thanks go to Genevieve Snyder of Genevieve Fine Art and her piece “Let Love Take the Reins” the cover art for the invitation and program. Also thanks to Catalyst Outdoor Advertising of Malvern, and Ellis Design Group of Glen Mills for their contributions to the invitation and program, Mary Hunt Davis of Malvern and Kersten Hoerner for their photography. On each of the tables and throughout the ballroom, you will see spectacular floral arrangements designed by TableArt of Wayne. Special thanks to Kathy Warden and her amazing staff for the creations tonight. Our program book has a wealth of information to offer about the Farm and tonight’s event. The invitations and program look better and better every year. We are thankful for the job well done by Star Printing of West Chester, Pa. Thanks to the donations of vans from Team Toyota of Glenn Mills we transported over 400 silent Auction items to the Bellevue. As you visit the Red & Clover Room, please thank the volunteers for their help tonight. They are here to answer any of your questions you may have about the Auction and this year’s electronic bidding through BidPal. Since 1969 the Staff and Board of Directors at Thorncroft have continued their commitment to serve people of all abilities. An accelerated training program has been launched for the instructors. The Staff attends clinics and seminars on all aspects of horsemanship to learn how people with physical and emotional disabilities can best benefit from therapeutic riding. We will continue to seek out and employ top clinicians from around the world so our instructors may reach their full potential in a progressive facility. Your support tonight will enable Thorncroft to continue it’s work... and over 350 students a week will benefit from the process of continuing education. From the Staff, Board and Riders at Thorncroft, we thank you for your participation. YOU have made it possible for us to strive to be the best in our field.
