Students may also work on lesson assignments and quizzes (not post tests) while at home. ● ● ● ● ● ● ●
All post tests must be taken at school – students are not allowed to attempt post tests at home. Ultimately the child’s school will determine the academic status of students for the next school year. Students will be granted ½ Carnegie unit of credit for each semester of course work they successfully finish. If the student is completing a class that requires an End of Course Test, the EOCT grade will be counted as the final exam, and will compose 20% of the final grade. The EOCT will be given on June 26th or June 27th at LCHS. Credit for those courses will be granted when the EOCT scores are received by the school and calculated with the course grade to determine the final course grade. Georgia Virtual School Credit Recovery Credit Recovery is a computer based instructional program. Students are allowed to work at their own pace, with the teacher basically functioning as a facilitator. Since the Credit Recovery program is web based, it is recommended that students have access to a computer outside of school to allow time for working on lessons and quizzes. However, all tests (both pre and posttests) must be taken at school in the presence of their teacher. Students are also required to have passed all units by the last day of class, June 19. If a student is taking a class that requires an End of Course Test (EOCT), they will be required to take the test according to the schedule set by Mrs. Lawrence. The EOCT will count as the final exam and will constitute 20% of the final grade for that course. This test is mandated by the state of Georgia and required for a student to receive course credit. No student may exempt an EOCT. Requirements for Credit Recovery are outlined below. ● All post tests must be taken at school – students are not allowed to do these at home. ● A score of 85 or higher allows a student to skip lessons and go straight to the post test for that unit. ● A score of 70 or higher is required on a post test to complete that unit. ● STUDENTS MUST BE FINISHED WITH ALL UNITS BY the end of the day on June 19, 2014. There will be no extensions or extra time allowed for completion nor refund given for incomplete classes. ● Students may not miss more than one day before completion of all units. ● No food or drinks are allowed in the computer labs. ● Students may not be on any other internet site while on the LCHS campus. Students may be dismissed if they are off task during the class time. I, ______________________________, understand the rules and procedures concerning Credit Recovery and class completion.
