About Your Coach

I’m George. Your Coach at GS Personal Training. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with over four years of experience in the Fitness Industry. My aim is to educate, encourage and guide you towards healthy eating behaviours and support you to take small steps in the areas of fitness, nutrition and weight management. I believe in building a close relationship and partnership with my clients by providing the structure, accountability, expertise and inspiration to enable you to learn, grow and develop beyond what you can do alone.

Personal Training

By investing in Personal Training you are fast tracking your way to results and investing into your health and fitness. It takes two to achieve results. Success requires a level of personal commitment from both the trainer and the client. Working with a Personal Trainer is not a way of transferring the responsibility for your health onto someone else, but a way to work together to achieve your desired outcome.

1 Start a Training Plan When starting a training plan, you want to allow progressive overload. In order for a muscle to grow, strength to be gained, performance to increase or body fat to decrease, the human body must be forced to adapt to a tension that is above and beyond what it has previously experienced.

For example – Increasing the amount of resistance used.

It needs to be effective and structured in order to see results. Most importantly you want to enjoy training so choose a style that will be rewarding and give you results. Consistency is key. If you enjoy your training plan, it is more likely that you will stick to it.

2 Track Your Food Intake We all need food for energy. Determining the quantity of food we require will be the driving factor for losing body fat or gaining muscle. Calories in VS Calories out. This is the key to losing fat or gaining lean muscle.  I believe in a flexible dieting approach. Flexible dieting encourages you to look at nutritional labels of foods to identify what nutrients you are about to consume, instead of labelling foods as “healthy” and “unhealthy”.

I’ll help you make appropriate and effective choices along the way by making any adjustments to your plans and devote my full attention and support to you.

3 Be Consistent Consistency is key. You are now on this journey for however long it may be. When you enjoy something, there is a higher chance of you pursuing it. This applies to training and dieting. You will be more consistent with training and nutrition when you are enjoying the process.

Being consistent with your training and nutrition will lead to the results you want, this triumphs over trying to “perfect” a training program. With consistency, you will progress.

4 Be Patient Patience is one of the hardest qualities to maintain when trying to achieve your dream physique. A great deal of patience is needed when working towards your goal. This does not mean it’s impossible, it will just take some time. For most people, losing fat or gaining muscle may take months, even years but don’t be disheartened! With consistency, dedication and the desire to succeed, you will definitely achieve remarkable results by taking your time to take all the necessary steps towards your goal.

5 Find Balance Find the balance between life and training. You do what is necessary to achieve your goal. Enjoy every part of the journey, from going out with your friends and family to achieving your dream physique. Compromise for one another. Tell your family and friends about your goals and how you plan to achieve them. Don’t miss out on important social events with your loved ones and don’t miss out on training. By skipping your session, you can hinder your consistent hard work just because of one lazy day. Finding balance is essential to your success. Without it, you can become slack and won’t stick to a training plan, won’t track your nutrition and this can cause you to hate the process of changing your physique by not making it a lifestyle choice.

Schedule your training around your life. Do what you need to do, track your nutrition and enjoy time with your loved ones. This will help you to follow your plan and not have to sacrifice one for the other.
