History CRUSE GmbH, since 1979 located in Rheinbach, moved to a new building with a bigger production hall and a new research and development department to Wachtberg/Germany (near Bonn and Cologne) in March 2013. CRUSE is developing and producing equipment to record large sized originals in premium quality to meet our clients’ high demands. CRUSE scanners are far superior to the photography of large size originals, thanks to their image capture with a linear CCD in strictly controlled, homogenous light conditions, and with consistent sharpness and reproduction angle. Each CRUSE scanner is built in Germany individually, according to the requirements of each customer. This defines CRUSE quality as the international benchmark for the scanning and reproduction of large size originals - with over 700 CRUSE scanners installed in more than 33 countries worldwide. CRUSE therefore is an excellent partner for archives, fine art printers, repro houses, design houses, libraries, decor-, laminate-, wallpaper-, ceramic-, textile-, pre-press, and packaging industries, as well as museums, land registries, and survey offices.

CRUSE continuous going ahead with groundbreaking innovations in 2016 CRUSE 3D Photostation has been presented to a wide range of trade visitors at InPrint in Munich and has met considerable interest. The new CRUSE Image Manager focuses on most advanced tile technology in order to display gigabyte large images in highest sharpness within seconds. We would be very pleased to welcome and meet you at one of the fairs or during a special demonstration date in Wachtberg.

Unique selling points The uniqueness of CRUSE scanners can be defined by the following key features: With our Synchron Table (ST) models the CCD sensor detects in center of the lens the objects during scanning, while the object on the Synchron Table passes through the scanning unit. With the ST mode very large originals can be scanned in the same reproduction angle with consistent quality. For digitizing 3D objects, metal objects and elaboration of the finest structures and textures in the original CRUSE offers a number of additional features that are particularly important for archiving and reproduction of fine art. CRUSE scanners are far superior to their collection with a line CCD under homogeneous lighting conditions, while maintaining sharpness and constant reproduction angle of photography from large format originals.

• Extremely even and precise scanning up to 1200 dpi optical resolution and above • We have different models for originals up to 200 x 300 cm in size and above • Very homogenous, even, and totally stable illumination. Our unique light distribution system with different lighting combinations (Synchron Table) can be easily customized and is controlled by our CSx software. This ensures the faithful reproduction of even the finest surface textures • Parallel scanning result: Maximum sharpness and 100 % parallelism for even the largest originals. Line by line capturing via CCD (RGB) for accurate and natural results

• ICC based color management. Advanced profiling: With our unique profiling target and software we achieve unrivaled color fidelity • Totally “touch-free”, non contact scanning • Multifunctional: Scanning of framed pictures and originals with a frame height of up to 12 cm and more • We create a very natural and three dimensional looking TEXTURE effect by means of special illummination and reproduction modes • Option: SD (Surface Detecting) stereo matching to capture depth information for embossing, 3D printing etc.

7

Synchron Table Scanner (ST) This unique scanning system has been developed for special requirements of industrial and decorative and fine art reproduction applications (scanning of maps, technical drawings, wallpaper, objects like wood planks, natural stone tiles, even 3D objects etc.) and to capture material surfaces to create designs for flooring, furniture, ceramic and many other applications.

Scanner options Variable Resolution Option to scan with 100-1000 dpi, in light boxes up to 2700 dpi. The scanner head and its lens can be varied in their height, depending on the type of scanner, so that different resolutions can be “driven” between about 240 and about 530 or 1000 dpi, depending on the size of the model. Variable Texture Mode (VTM) Option for different capturing of textures (surfaces) in order to increase the plasticity. The normal exposure mode L + R enables an equal illumination of the model without making the textures visible, if these are not desired. The Standard Texture Effect allows a one-sided exposure with the left or right lamp of the model lamp center position so that a texture effect can be achieved. Furthermore, the Variable Texture Effect allows a normal texture by moving the left or the right lamp 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm from the middle to strengthen where appropriate, to clearly increase the “drama” of the textures. The further it is from the center, the shallower the angle of exposure and the more shadow is created at the textures. Variable Reproduction Angle (VRA) Option for receiving originals at a defined viewing angle up to 15 degree. The complex option includes a movable CCD line, in order to achieve the desired angular reproduction position from 5 to reach 10 to 15 degree in the scanning head. This option is supplemented by a much longer path of the supporting table. To do so, much longer spindles are being used. With this supplementary equipment, the light fitting can be moved into the correct position automatically, without any interference of the operator. Due to the consistently same “viewing angle” of the scan line, consistently identically conditions are safeguarded from beginning to end of the scan path. Therefore, additional texture effects can be achieved, desired or unwanted reflections can be scanned as well.

10

Light Angle Device

Rear Light With Rear Light, the texture effect of the original scan data can be reinforced. This additional lamp provides a harsh shadow and therefore illustrates each immersion. The result is a dramatic texture effect that can then be adapted to specific requirements by using the Image Stacking with other scan effects. This option is particularly interesting for customers working in the decorative sector or service. Light Angle Device This unique device angles the light from the left at a controlled 40 degree. By changing the direction of the light, even the finest pores of oak wood will be visible. A light deflector is inserted in front of the left-hand light on the scanner table. This targeted controlled lighting makes even lengthways textures appear three-dimensional.

Image Stacking Software Vary your scans with Image Stacking Image Stacking is a software developed to provide users an easy way to overlay individual scans. The idea is to create from different object scans, for example a wooden plank, with light as from left, back and right at any later time a new “mix”. Scan your object, which you have available only for a short time, to create further impressions when the object has left your house already. By using the CSx feature “group scan” every user creates one scan which can be loaded as an image library into Image Stacking. The memory requirements compared to Photoshop are much lower, since not all files have to be kept at the same time completely in memory. Exports can be converted into a freely selectable output color space. Our optimal standard CRUSE-RGB color space is included.

15

Surface Detecting (SD) By scanning with SD, software records the depth information through stereo matching with our 2D camera. The SD-RD models target the decor market, manufacturers and designers within the ceramic-, laminate, wallpaper, and tile industry, as well as producers of press plates and cylinder buildings. The models are designed to capture textures in wood, tile, and stone, so that synthetic reproductions feature the same lifelike quality as their natural counterparts. The RGB scan and stereo matching are done separately. The two processes are not connected with each other.
