Saving the Application Files Marquis provides a utility to extract CRA and HMDA data from the LaserPro system. The application files must be stored in the directory where the LaserPro database/DBF files are located (Look for transact.dbf and lpdetail.dbf). This should be the CFI/DBF folder. •CentraxLPc.EXE - extract utility for CRA data •CentraxLPh.EXE - extract utility for HMDA data
Drivers If the person working with the LaserPro utilities has never used CenTrax, you will need to install our drivers on their workstation. Locate the root directory where CenTrax is installed and run the MarquisDriverInstall.exe file from the workstation to complete the installation.
Running the Applications We recommend creating an icon for each application that will be run. Although we have provided both to you, your institution may only need to utilize one. Please check with the CenTrax users to identify which programs will be needed. Users running the Marquis LaserPro utility will not need access to the LaserPro system as these are external applications. Both utilities require you to enter a date range for the extract. Each utility creates an Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet will be written back to the location where the application is stored and will be named the same each time. You may want to rename and/or move the extracted files each time to prevent overwriting the previous data. At the end of this document you will find a detailed file layout for the resulting Excel file. If you need assistance setting up your import template in CenTrax, please contact our technical support agents for assistance at 800-627-5388.
The CRA Utility Enter a date range for the current extract. If your institution back−dates transactions we recommend setting the Start Date to January 1 of the current year each time. Click Process. Once the file is complete a notice is displayed. The file name will be CentraxCRA.xls and the file is automatically saved to the same folder where the application is stored.
Please note that the CRA Utility will include all loans with a CRA Type code. Once the data is imported the consumer CRA Types (04-09) can either be separated from the reportable small business and farm data or deleted. The CRA Utility will include all transactions where the record contains the specified date range in one of the following 4 date fields: contactdt; decsndt; craactndate; loandt. If this method results in records that should not be included they can be removed after the file is imported. The HMDA Utility Enter a date range for the current extract. If your institution back−dates transactions we recommend setting the Start Date to January 1 of the current year each time. Click Process. Once the file is complete a notice is displayed. The file name will be CentraxHMDA.xls and the file is automatically saved to the same folder where the application is stored.
Please note that the HMDA Utility will include all loans with a “Y” value in the LaserPro ‘hmda_yn’ field. The HMDA Utility will include all transactions where the record contains the specified date range in one of the following 4 date fields: contactdt; decsndt; h_actiondt; loandt. If this method results in records that should not be included they can be removed after the file is imported. 3
The File Layouts For each layout we have indicated the field number (helpful when setting up the template), the CenTrax field name, the LaserPro field name and the format if applicable. If there is no CenTrax field name listed, these field can be placed as you wish either in standard or User Defined Fields or can be left out of the imported file. Both the HMDA and CRA files contain multiple dates and multiple balance fields. Please be sure to thoroughly test your data to ensure that you have mapped the fields properly for your institution. We included a variety of these fields to ensure the utility worked for institutions utilizing LaserPro in a variety of ways. Some fields, such as the Fixed/Adjustable field indicator for HMDA will require the use of the Conversion Utility in CenTrax (Setup/Data Conversion) to convert the value coming from LaserPro into the expected value in CenTrax. If you need assistance setting up a Data Conversion matrix, please contact a technical support agent at 800-627-5388.
