Uncoated Optical Windows/Substrates
Catalog Items Material
12.7x3 12.5x5 12.7x6 20x40x3 25.4x3 BK7
Various dimensions substrates made from BK7, UVFS, IRFS, CaF2, ZnSe, Sapphire, MgF2. Standard substrates are laser grade polished on both surfaces. These substrates are ideal for beamsplitters, windows, partial reflecting mirrors etc.
12.7x5
Laser components require highly polished substrates as well as high performance coatings. Scattering, damage of laser light can occur if the substrate is made of inferior material or if it is inadequately polished. For UV, very high power applications and ultrashort pulses we recommend using UVFS substrates. BK7 substrates are economical solution for laser components used in many applications in laboratory as well as in devices and instruments.
Features • Ideal for beamsplitters, windows, partial reflecting mirrors etc • UVFS substrates are recommended for the UV and very high energy applications • Windows up to 500 mm diameter are available
Miscellaneous • Custom design production is available • Various dielectric coatings can be deposited on these substrates • Check the stock list items for fastest delivery • Mass production capabilities: 10’000 pieces per month

Description
Converter shown in cross-polarized light at different incident polarization angles
Custom birefringent patterns (half-wave or quarter-wave) for tailored polarization conversion. We control retardance and slow axis angle according to the predefined function. We offer custom polarisation converters for various polarization and beam shaping applications: radial polarization, azimuth polarization, random polarization, circular polarization, elliptical polarization, custom polarisation, optical vortex generation, flattop generation. Production of custom polarization converters is based on unique laser nano-structuring technique developed by prof. Peter G. Kazansky group from Optoelectronics Research Centre at Southampton University.
Features • Wavelength range from 400 nm to 2000 nm • Half-wave or quarte-wave converters available • Size from 1 mm to 10 mm • Transmission from 40% to 90% (* wavelength dependent) • Custom birefringent patterns
Converted beam (532 nm) intensity at different incident polarization angles
* Custom wavelength and size converters are available on request. 116

Polarization Rotators
Catalog Items Clear aperture, mm
Description Polarization rotator is a good alternative to retardation waveplate when it comes to rotation of polarization at certain angle. Polarization rotation is caused by property, called Optical activity, which is natural to quartz crystal and other substances that are enantiomorphous. This property is caused by crystal lattice structure, that lacks mirror symmetry due to helicoidal chains of SiO4 units oriented along c-axis in quartz structure. Depending on chain rotation direction, there is “right” and “left” quartz which rotates polarization clockwise or counterclockwise respectively. Polarization rotators are c-cut so rotation of polarization occurs independently of component’s rotation around optical axis, thus component is alignment-insensitive and the only requirement is that incident beam must be perpendicular to rotator’s aperture. Altechna offers rotators with fixed 45 deg or 90 deg rotation of polarization with antireflection coatings for design wavelength. For convenient use all rotators are mounted in black anodized aluminum mount. Device is good replacement for waveplate, for usage along with narrow band lasers.

Polarizing Cubes for High Energy Applications
High Energy Glan Laser Polarizers Description High Energy Glan Laser Polarizers produce linear polarized light from unpolarized input and is made of a higher grade calcite. The polarizer has two escape windows to allow the rejected beams to escape. Its entrance and exit faces are polished using deep grinding and polishing technique to minimize scattering from the surface.
Standard specifications Description
Standard specifications
Optically contacted polarizing beamsplitter cubes are optimized for superior performance in high power applications. These cubes can with stand energy fluencies up to 20 J/cm2 @ 1064 nm for10 ns pulses at 20 Hz. High Energy beamsplitter cubes are easier to mount than Thin film polarizers making them easier to use in laser setups. High surface flatness reduces wavefront distortion making these cubes a perfect candidate for intra-cavity applications.
