The magical resort of

Pyha

P

yha is a small village which is set in stunning scenery on the edge of the National Park area that is renowned for its excellent ski facilities. It is no wonder that Santa has chosen to reside in this marvellous location situated just above the Arctic Circle. In Pyha you can choose to stay in a variety of accommodations from a contemporary apartment, to a traditional log cabin, or a comfortable hotel room, convenient to resort. It is hard to imagine anywhere more beautiful or unspoilt than Finnish Lapland. And, it is here where we can see why Santa has chosen Lapland as his homeland…

Gifts for children age 2-11 years inclusive on day tours and a gift allowance for children age 2-11 years on all overnight tours. IS IT LIKE VISITING AN AMUSEMENT PARK WITH A SANTA GROTTO? Not at all, our tours operate to resorts and venues which are typically idyllic and traditional. Where possible, our activity programmes are not held in touristic centres. WILL WE FIND SANTA? Santa being such a wise man, he knows that you have made a very special effort to find him. When you and your family have your private meeting with him, he will have a gift for all children (ages 2-11 years inclusive) and he will fully understand your children and provide appropriate answers to their questions. WILL THE REPRESENTATIVES SPEAK ENGLISH? On overnight tours you will be accompanied by a personal tour guide. They will meet and greet you at the airport and will be on hand throughout each day of your tour. Your guide has expert local knowledge and will be able to answer most of the questions you may have while in Lapland. Both our tour guides and our local representatives speak very good English. HOW COLD WILL IT BE IN LAPLAND? Generally temperatures average between -5c and -25c, although it has been known to drop to -45c. It tends to be warmer late Nov and early Dec and you may wish to take this into consideration when booking your tour. An average day in Lapland provides 4-5 hrs of grey light (usually between 10.00 and 14.30 Finnish time, although this can vary subject to location). When the sky is clear, it may be blue with the most amazing colours. At other times, the sky will be as though it is night time, although any light is reflected by the snow, making it possible to see where you are walking. Venues in Lapland are generally lit by roaring fires & Lappish outdoor candles, which provide a very attractive setting for our events. WILL WE SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS? It is possible to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), though as a natural phenomenon, there is no guarantee. The lights appear like a storm in the sky with white, red or green lights dancing through the atmosphere. CAN I DRIVE A SNOWMOBILE? Please remember that our activities operate in Arctic conditions & in the interests of safety your guide may alter the schedule contents of the tour at any time.

IS THE TRIP SUITABLE FOR AN INFANT? Infants (ages less than 2 years at the time of return travel) are permitted to travel on our tours. However, prior to booking parents must take into consideration the nature of the terrain and the Arctic weather conditions where temperatures can fluctuate between -5 to -25c in December. You will be required to supply suitable clothing for your infant. The infant admin fee is €150. IS THE HOLIDAY SUITABLE FOR DISABLED OR SEVERELY ILL CHILDREN? We understand that for many severely ill and disabled children and their parents, a visit to meet Santa is a magnificent dream. Our promise to you is that we care enough to try and ensure that this dream is realised. We have the honour to work with a number of leading children’s charities and we carry many children with conditions including cancer, cystic fibrosis, blindness and paraplegia. All arrangements quoted in this brochure are based on known costs and exchange rates when the brochure was produced in February 2016. The price of your holiday is subject to surcharges on the following items: governmental action, currency, aircraft fuel, overflying charges and airport charges. Even in this case we will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludes any insurance premiums and any amendment charges. Only amounts in excess of the 2% will be surcharged. If this means paying more than 10% on the holiday price, you will be entitled to cancel your holiday with a full refund of all money paid except for holiday insurance & amendment charges. Should you decide to cancel because of this, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the date printed on the replacement invoice. Having already provided for the above in the event that the currency exchange rate or other factors better that from which the brochure is costed no refund would be made. 7. If circumstances beyond the Company’s control cause either withdrawal or modification of the advertised arrangements which are made by the Company as agents for the suppliers of transport, accommodation and other services, the Company agrees to immediately notify Clients and if possible offer a comparable arrangement or a prompt and full refund of all monies paid by the Client. Such withdrawal will not take place after the date when the balance becomes due, with the exception of booking condition No. 20, unless for reasons amounting to force majeure or in the event that the Client defaults in payment of the balance. 8. Disputes arising out of, or in connection with this contract, which cannot be amicably settled, may (if the Client so wishes) be referred to arbitration under a special scheme which, though devised by arrangement with the Association of British Travel Agents is administered quite independently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The scheme (details of which will be supplied on request) provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on document alone with restricted liability on the Client in respect of costs. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than €5,000 per person or €25,000 per Booking. Where a claim for personal injury is made the limit on the amount claimed is €1,500 per person. If you elect to seek redress under this scheme written notice requesting arbitration under the scheme must be made within 18 months after the scheduled date of return from the holiday. 9.
