DAKAR

The Canary Islands form an archipelago made up of 7 islands. They are situated in the Macronesian region of the Atlantic, in the south of Europe. They lie 1,739 km south west of Madrid. Each of the islands has its own personality and characteristics but together they make up a territory which is truly unique, just a few hours’ flying time from the main European capitals.

4.256 km

Known historically as “The Fortunate Islands”, the Archipelago is in fact made up of seven larger islands: Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro, and six smaller ones: Alegranza, La Graciosa (the only one of the smaller islands that’s inhabited), Montaña Clara, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste and the island of Lobos.
