Matters Arising 2.1

AP said that she and JK had been approached by several ladies on Tues 1 March who felt winter competitions should be over 10 holes and the competition on that day should have been changed to 10 holes due to poor weather. LW stated that at 08.00am on the day in question she felt the weather conditions did not warrant changing the competition from 18 to 10 holes. LP confirmed when she arrived at the club, after speaking to some ladies, she had not changed the competition to 10 holes as they were keen to play 18. LP also confirmed that 1st March was no longer the winter season and actually the start of the playing/qualifying season so the option of 10 hole winter golf would not have applied. LB said one of the survey questions was on 10/18 hole winter golf and this may give us a better idea as to what ladies actually want when the surveys are all in and reviewed. It was decided we would review this matter at the next meeting once the results of the survey were available.

2.2

LP confirmed the Haslam trophy is now in the diary.

JK reported she had received an e-mail from the County Junior Girls organiser advertising free coaching sessions for girls around the County which she had passed on to Ben Benoist and Zoe North via the main office.

Open Events Update 9.1

AP confirmed there is only 1 time left for the Open AMAM in May. However the sheet will remain up until near the competition day when it will be taken down and the August Open sheet put up in its place. There will be application forms for the August Open made available for ladies at the May AMAM

9.2

SH felt we should have a sheet available for visitors advertising all the LGC Open competitions. SH to check with the main office/ marketing committee that they have not done already produced one and she will action if required.

AOB 10.1

Social: A race night to raise funds for the junior section has been arranged for Friday 18 March. RO confirmed they were looking at arranging other social evenings and a “Mr & Mrs” evening had been suggested. Ideas welcome. LB asked if social planned to run any fun golf evenings throughout the summer. RO actioned with asking social committee their plans on this and LW actioned with asking main committee about the 10 hole competition on a Wednesday evening to see if this will be run this year and who will be responsible for organising it.

10.2

RO said ladies had commented on the Tuesday friendly competition being a medal format when it should be a stableford. LP reminded RO that the 1st of March is the new season start date and therefore competitions could be in medal format. After much discussion it was decided competitions should stay as is and any changes to the status of a competition will be done by LW and LP liaising on the day.

10.3

SH said she had just been contacted by Peter Cornish for payment of an outstanding bill of £170 for engraving. She had not received his invoice which was why she had not paid the bill. The bill is now paid and apologies given to him for the delay.

10.4

AP feels the ladies committee should thank all our lady members for the support they have shown the club with good attendance at the workshop today and the SkyTrak evenings. LW actioned with sending out an e-mail to all our ladies to thank them.

10.5

LW was very unhappy with the state of the ladies toilets in the foyer. They are in need of a good clean, there is sealant missing from around the sinks and one of the toilet seats is broken. The cushions in the bar area are also full of dust and need to be hoovered to address this. RO to pass LW comments on to Bar & House.

Marketing Richard Parr has confirmed that the Website is being updated in stages, after emailing all the members administration support has been found to help with this task. Richard has now set up a Lutterworth GC Facebook page. A drone flyover has been arranged to give 360 imaging of the course, clubhouse and pro shop to use as a sales tool on the website. A series of recruitment events using the simulator will be organised in early April. Course Course committee is looking at improving the drainage on the right of the 7th green. Possibility of having a pond to allow water to drain into it. All the course drainage has been reviewed and some drainage work will be carried out as a matter of priority. The 9th green is being reviewed and discussions are ongoing to improve the playability by reducing the severity of the slope. Course committee looking into widening and improving the 4th bridge. Alternative Energy / cost saving As the club is on a water meter we are looking at the possibility of saving and using the water from the roof to replenish the irrigation tank or possibly use for the toilets. Power Companies have been invited to provide an overview based on the building and current electric usage to introduce solar. L Watson

Appendix 2 HANDICAPS & COMPETITIONS SERETARY’S REPORT

Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic – Lutterworth Ladies played Cold Ashby in the first round of this competition at home on a chilly but bright day on Sunday 14 February 2016. And what a superb result – 5-0! Having then gone through to the second round, this match was played away against Rugby on Sunday 6 March – a valiant effort by our ladies on this rather testing course which sadly resulted in a 2-3 defeat. Nevertheless, well done to all our ladies. Tuesday Winter League – Won on an extra hole by Liz Paris and Carol Chislett against Sue Fletcher and Stephanie Rimmer – a great game all round. Eclectic (2000 Cups) – This competition closed on 29 February 2016 resulting in a win by Pam Etchingham (well done again, Pam) with Sue Fletcher as runner up in the Silver Division. The Bronze Division was won by Liz Paris with Doreen Williams in second place. No of entrants = 27, an excellent entry level for 2015/16. Ladies v Mens C Team- Our ladies battled through rain, sleet, hail, snow and very strong winds on Wednesday 2 March. A most valiant effort by all but narrowly losing the match 2-3. Well done to all our ladies who showed true spirit in very gruelling conditions. Ladies Survey – This has been circulated to all ladies for completion either by hard copy available in the Locker Room or online. Unfortunately, the online copies were not distributed from the office as a template which has resulted in loss of some of the format and therefore not able to be completed as easily as intended. 13 replies have been so received so far. So, a reminder to all ladies to submit their reply before the end of March as a high response level is required to give a fully representative view. NB: to complete online, it will be necessary to delete the appropriate text box and insert an ‘X’. E Paris
