At the AGM held in October 2013, Mrs Tehani Mathew, was appointed President Elect for the period 2015 to 2017. She was assuming duties at the AGM which is scheduled for 17th October 2015. Due to a sudden illness faced in her family she is compelled to resign from her post, and intimated to the committee by an email dated 4th July 2015, as she will be overseas for long periods of time, which she thinks is not fair by the OGA, and will be a hindrance to her appointment. In accordance with the Constitution in section 6 (A & B) and 10 (2). Mrs Preethi Adihetty, has accepted the position of President Elect tenable up to the AGM in October 2015. She has served on the OGA for a total of 7 years and her last held position was Vice President, from 2011 to 2013.

OGA AND CHAPEL TRUSTS As per the Trust Deed “ there shall be a Board of Trustees consisting of seven (7) members, three (3) of whom shall be ex-officio, namely the Principal and the Vice Principal of Ladies’ College and the President of the Ladies’ College Old Girls’ Association”. “A Trustee shall be a Senior Member of the LC OGA and have been a member thereof for a minimum period of twenty five (25) years”.

THE OGA TRUST Lilamani Goonewardena has completed 3 years on her 1st term and is eligible for reelection. There will be no other vacancies in the OGA Trust.

THE CHAPEL TRUST There will be no vacancies in the Chapel Trust this year.

PAST EVENTS FUND RAISER – “ Style” Twenty 15 This spectacular event was held on 29th May 2015, to raise funds for the renovations of the School Library and Staff Room. It was an evening filled with great entertainment by old girls’ who participated as models, who acted a skit and performed in singing and music. The event was a “sell out” and profits raised will be donated to the School.

UPCOMING EVENTS SING-ALONG An evening with Sohan & the X-periments will be held on 27th September 2015, at the Hotel Ramada. Tickets priced at Rs.2,000/- ( including refreshments) are out on sale at the OGA Secretariat. Proceeds from the sing-a-long will be for the Chapel Trust.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, 17th October 2015 in the School Hall at 10.00 a.m. The AGM will be preceded by breakfast at 8.30 a.m. Breakfast tickets priced at Rs.250/- will be available for sale from 1st October 2015 at the OGA Secretariat. Attendance of all members at the AGM will be greatly appreciated by the Committee.

“TRIBUTE” A concert in aid of the Ladies’ College Chapel Trust. Sunday 11th October 2015, 7.00 p.m. at the Russian Cultural Centre. The Program includes: LC OGA Chorale -

fearturing Ashanthi de Alwis, Devashrie de Silva, Thivanthi Perera and Ashanthi Colombage as soloists

Cello Quartet -

including Dushyanthi Perera and Tamara Holsinger

Flutopia -

a sextet of flautists, directed by sureka Amarasinghe

Four hands on a piano -

featuring Ramya de Livera Perera & Soundarie David Rodrigo

Chamber Orchestra-

showcasing musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka directed by Dushyanthi Perera.

Limited programs, priced at Rs.2,000/- will be on sale from September at the School Office, LC Sports Complex and the OGA Secretariat.
