The course will help students learn to put into practice what they will be doing as sport managers including creative problem solving, strategic planning, and developing the skills to lead, organize, and delegate.  Whatisyouroverallgoalandhowdoyoubelievethisprojectwillenhancestudentlearning? The overall goal is to redesign an upper level undergraduate course (KINE 3400, Administrative Theory and Practice in Athletic and Sport Regulatory Organizations) to a full online course. The goals of the redesign are to promote better retention of information by students and apply knowledge learned to the growing sport management field. KINE 3400 will be redesigned to allow students to complete online lessons that are normally taught in a lecture format. Students will also be required to complete assignments within the online lessons to ensure they can apply the knowledge learned. Part I: 14 Chapter Online Lessons will be created: Chapter 1: Managing Sports, Chapter 2: The Sport Industry Environment: Globalization, Ethics, and Social Responsibility, Chapter 3: Creative Problem Solving and Decision Making, Chapter 4: Strategic and Operational Planning, Chapter 5: Organizing and Delegating Work, Chapter 6: Managing Change: Sport Culture, Innovation, and Diversity, Chapter 7: Human Resources Management, Chapter 8: Behavior in Organizations: Power, Politics, Conflict, and Stress, Chapter 9: Team Development, Chapter 10: Communicating for Results, Chapter 11: Motivating to Win, Chapter 12: Leading to Victory, Chapter 13: Controlling for Quality and Productivity, and Chapter 14: Facilities and Events. Part II: 6 Online Exams will be created. 1

Whatistheannualenrollmentforthiscourseinitscurrentformat?(EnterN/Aifthiscoursehasneverbeen offeredatUNT.) KINE 3400.001 (Fall 2011) – 30 students enrolled. I teach this section. KINE 3400.001 (Summer 2011) – 31 students enrolled. Taught by adjunct faculty member. KINE 3400.001 (Spring 2011) – 44 students enrolled. Taught by adjunct faculty member Having a full online upper level undergraduate course should allow more students to take the course Pleasedescribeyourexperiencedesigningandteachingintheonlinelearningenvironment: For the KINE 3090 (Motor Behavior) course, which is offered in fall and spring semesters, I use Blackboard to upload all class materials, manage chapter assignments, and manage four research experiments using flash programming to teach course content. In addition, I have taught KINE 3090 as a full online course in the summer.  For the KINE 3400 (Administrative Theory and Practice in Athletic and Sport Regulatory Organizations), I use Blackboard to upload course outlines and manage chapter assignments.   Whatnewtechnologiesareyouplanningtoimplementinthiscourseasaresultofthisproject? New technology will consists of creating 14 online lessons that are currently presented in a lecture format and creating 6 online exams. All the material will be delivered online.        Describeyourexperienceusingthetechnologiesyouplantoimplement?Ifnone,whatwillyoudotodevelop expertiseinusingit? I have experience using the technologies I plan to implement to convert 14 chapter online lessons. I will work with an Instructional Consultant to create the 6 online exams.
