Kiddy is certainly different!
The focus of all product development is the pursuit of the highest-possible safety, along with standards of outstanding ergonomics and peak functionality. In the process, Kiddy sees itself as a pioneer in the development of new technologies, high-tech materials and safety concepts. Numerous patents, such as the Lie-Flat Technology, the original Kiddy impact shield and the shock absorber prove the innovative spirit of the Kiddy engineers – and have been ground-breaking for the entire industry for years. Kiddy stands for German brand quality since 1966. The company initially produced seat covers for the automotive industry and worked with renowned partners such as Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat and Opel. When its first child car seat, was presented to Stiftung Warentest in 1978 and immediately became a test winner, the cornerstone was laid for the company in its current form. Today, Jan-Stefan and Bettina Würstl are the second generation to head the family-owned enterprise, which sees the best-possible safety for children as its highest stipulation. Kiddy is by now represented in over 50 countries worldwide. Subsidiaries in China, USA, France, England, Poland, Korea and Turkey are milestones of the expansion strategy. It can be easily and optimally adjusted to the size of the child in three dimensions – height, width and depth. Between the ages of 4 and 12, children will grow around 4 to 5 centimetres per year. Optimised side geometry
A Kiddy impact shield is made of highly shock-absorbing materials and offers the best impact protection in the event of a front collision. The forces released by an impact are absorbed by the impact shield and so kept away from the child. The risk of injuries in the cervical spine can be minimised as the child´s head is prevented from being abruptly thrown forward, as is the case with a car seat with a standard 5-point harness system.
Thanks to the new shape of the side protection components, our high-performance material Honey Comb V2 can unleash its full shock-absorbing properties. The head and shoulder areas are very well-protected in the event of a side impact. At the same time the child’s view out of the window is unobstructed.
High-tech material Kiddy seats are exemplary when it comes to side impact protection. In particular in the head and shoulder region which are prone to injuries, since the head is still comparatively heavy when compared to the rest of the body. The integration of the high-performance material Honey Comb V2 in these vulnerable zones leaves the child extremely well-protected.
New Kiddy Shock Absorber Children that fall into the weight category 2 (15–25 kg / 33–55 lbs), are secured with the 3-point diagonal seatbelt which is integrated in the car. However this system is designed for adults. Our unique safety component, the Kiddy Shock Absorber (KSA) absorbs part of the impact energy acting on the 3-point seatbelt and so prevents your child from being damaged by it. With the second generation we have optimised the absorption material for even better force absorption.

Kiddy K-fix connectors Using the Kiddy K-fix connectors enables you to fit your car seat even more easily to the standardised mounting system known as ISOFIX. The system is available with numerous vehicles (see car model list) and creates a rigid connection between the vehicle and the car seat.
Retraction mechanism The practical retraction mechanism allows you to remove the Kiddy K-fix connectors from the car in a quick and easy way. That´s why the car seat is also suitable for vehicles without an ISOFIX system.
Innovation
KLF Technology The patented Kiddy Lie-Flat Technology (KLF) technology allows the seat to be moved from an upright to a lie-flat position. When the handle is moved backwards, a slatted frame within the infant carrier rises up and moves the infant into a flat lying position. The child‘s body, neck and head are all inline. The impact-absorbing slatted frame ensures air flow to move evenly around the baby‘s body, so that it regulates the baby‘s temperature all year round.

On 16th July 2008, a new EU-law came into force that requires a child who is sitting on their Mum or Dad’s lap on board an aircraft to be secured with a loop belt. However this belt, which is supposed to protect children in the case of an emergency, is itself considered by experts to be a safety risk. Although a loop belt does keep the toddler in place on the adult´s lap during turbulence, the force of the adult´s body can press against the child. Also unsatisfactory is the fact that such a belt fits directly around the soft tissue area of the child, giving room for movement and discomfort. So the parent may not be able to hold on to the child very effectively if the ride turns bumpy due to turbulence. TÜV Rheinland conducted a series of tests to identify the risks for the child when using a loop when sitting on a parent’s lap. The results wereso alarming that parents are now advised to book a separate seat for their child and to use it witha correctly installed car seat. As experts in child safety when on the move with children, it goes without saying that Kiddy provides its customers with safety seats which are fully approved and licensed for use in aircraft by the TÜV Rheinland and the German Federal Aviation Authority.
