Recruit Donors It’s easy! Be positive, enthusiastic and educated about the blood donation process and simply ask someone to become a blood donor. A personal, face-to-face invitation makes all the difference! Consider these recruitment ideas:

Give your event pizzazz! Create a theme for the blood drive.

Be visible! Have a sign-up table in the Narthex or gathering area after church services.

Be creative! Make a large thermometer and post in a high traffic area to track your sign-up progress.

Be fashionable! Borrow a “blood drop” costume from LifeServe Blood Center and wear it before or after church services to create some additional buzz for the blood drive.

Be generous! Free food is always a big hit! Contact local restaurants, donut, pizza, or ice cream shops about donating treats for the blood drive.

Reward donors! Encourage donors to sign up before the blood drive by handing out candy or treats at the sign-up table with a creative message:

• “Roll Up Your Sleeve” with Tootsie Rolls. • “Let’s Pull Together” with Taffy. • “We’re Sweet on Blood Donors”

• “Save a Life” with Life Savers.
