DESTINATION
Location of Shanghai Shanghai literally means the city by the sea. Right in the middle of China's east coastline, Shanghai is an excellent sea and river port, boasting easy access to the vast hinterland. The city is divided into two parts by the Huangpu River: Puxi (west of the Huangpu River) and Pudong (east of the Huangpu River). Puxi is the older part of the city and hosts the majority of shops, restaurants and museums. Pudong is the modern part, and is recognized for its rather unusual yet extremely impressive high-rises.
Explore Shanghai Shanghai is the most influential financial, cultural, science and technology centre in China, and is considered to be one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. The city draws many business and leisure travellers who come to experience the pulsating development of modern China. The city is a destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Bund. Its ancient past contrasts vividly with the modern and ever-expanding Pudong skyline. New skyscrapers and old city buildings together draw the skyline of Shanghai. Visitors can enjoy the cosmopolitan mix of Western customs and Chinese traditions.
Shanghai New International Expo Centre SNIEC offers 17 column-free, ground-level exhibition halls, covering 200,000m²of indoor space and 100,000m²of outdoor space. Since officially opened in 2001, SNIEC has made a rapid development with annually welcoming more than 3 million guests and around 80 worldclass exhibitions. It is adjacent to the Kerry Parkside complex and directly connected to the hotel via a covered walkway and footbridge, the hotel’s MICE facilities are designed to capitalise the proximity.
