Supplemental Outreach Initiatives Career Day Events ASU Career Services & ASU Alumni Association sponsored a Student Career Day Program on the Tempe Campus of Arizona State University on February 10, 2009. Staff had the opportunity to meet with ASU students and alumni, present internship opportunities, discuss career options and collect resumes, and send out applications to interested students. Staff Involved: Nancy Southgate – Associate General Manager Ray Nutaitis – Manager, KBAQ Mark Harms – Art Director Nora Montana – Office Specialist, Senior Jen Burke – Writer/Producer Susan Soto – Broadcast Promotion & Advertising Specialist Senior ASU held an Internship & Career Fair on March 24, 2010 at the Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix campus. Staff had the opportunity to meet with ASU students and alumni, present internship opportunities, discuss career options and collect resumes, and send out applications to interested students. Internship & Employment Program for Students of Arizona State University Ongoing – Station provides both Internship opportunities (Horizon/Horizonte) and Part-Time paid positions for ASU students with an interest in Broadcast Communications. Production positions include production crew for Eight/KAET Pledge Drives, studio productions (Horizon/Horizonte), and other local productions with responsibilities ranging from editing to videography to directing. Other student duties include positions in on-air promotion, operations, reception and graphic design. 5 Interns and 46 Part-Time paid student positions. Station Tours Station tours for K-12 Students and the general public are provided for interested groups and individuals wanting to learn more about KAET and public television in their community.
