A synthetic cigarette liquid known as "Blue Blossoms” is becoming very popular. Available at most smoke and head shops, this synthetic liquid when smoked through an electronic cigarette (e-cigarettes) creates psychological effects similar to marijuana, Spice/K2, and even ecstasy.

E-cigarettes comprise a nearly billion-dollar industry that claims to provide a safe alternative to traditional cigarette smoking. Unfortunately, the popular product can be easily manipulated into drug paraphernalia through Blue Blossoms and other legal synthetic oils.

Also known as amber, honey, wax, ear wax and by its initials BHO, butane hash oil is a highly concentrated form of the active ingredient in marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol or THC). Use of BHO is known as "dabbing," because of the way the drug is ingested: Users place a small dab of the substance on a hot, metal surface, then inhale the resulting puff of smoke

"It's a very strong, concentrated form of marijuana. It's also just very concealable: you can hide it, you can use it in the street, and it's kind of unknown as it stands right now."

Butane hash oil or BHO is made from grinding up Marijuana into a tube and running butane gas through it. Users then take hits from the extractions, "dabs" as they call them.

There are scores of do-it-yourself demos plastered over the Internet on sites like YouTube. These videos show people how to make the various forms of BHO, from the hard, amber colored stuff called "Shatter," to the softer, smoother "Butter" or "Earwax."

Some users even smoke, or rather vaporize the drug, through e-cigarettes. The DEA says that one drop on a cigarette is equal to the effects of a single joint.

This is the crack of marijuana

Users ingest butane hash oil by heating up a piece of metal, like a titanium nail, possibly with a butane torch, and touching the hash oil to it. They then inhale the smoke created from the heat through a glass-smoking device, which, in some cases, can resemble a crack pipe, according to Conner.

“A puff of smoke is emitted, and then the user inhales the entire puff of super-concentrated smoke,” according to SFweekly.com

It can contain as much at 90 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), compared to other strains of marijuana, which contained 25 percent. The drug is also easier to conceal and carry

Parents concerned about their teens using butane hash oil should be alert for these items:   

•Butane torch •A glass-type smoking device •A titanium nail or other kind of nail with a burned substance on the end

Smoking Alcohol is seen as a low calorie alternative to drinking alcohol.

Inhaling alcohol provides all of the flavor and intoxication of chugging a mixed drink with none of the sugars and calories.

There are many ways people are vaporizing alcohol in order for it to be smoked; Some pour liquor over dry ice and "smoke" the vapors, others pressurize the alcohol in a bottle and inhale the vapors, and lastly others heat alcohol over moderate temperatures to create steam. Each method can be compared to freebasing which is common with crack cocaine and heroin.

A new term for someone who is extremely conscious about their weight but still wishes to consume alcohol is known as

"drunkorexia."

When you inhale alcohol, it goes directly into the lungs and circumnavigates the liver, the liver is what metabolizes alcohol, but when you inhale it, it goes directly from the lungs to the brain.

The lungs and mucous membranes are extremely sensitive to alcohol and inhaling alcoholic vapor may dry out the nasal passages and mouth, leaving users more vulnerable to infection.

Alcohol Without Liquid, or AWOL, which takes hard liquor and disperses it as vapor in an oxygen mist, has been available at a small number of bars in the U.K. for several months; recently, a Greensboro, N.C.-based company called Spirit Partners purchased an exclusive license to sell the machines in the United States.

What exactly is “sizzurp”? Also known by the slang terms “purple drank,” “water” and “lean,” sizzurp, is a cough syrup-laced concoction of many names and has been gaining popularity in hip-hop culture.

Drinking prescription-strength cough syrup containing codeine and promethazine mixed with soda.

Codeine is an opioid that can produce relaxation and euphoria when consumed in sufficient quantities. Promethazine is an antihistamine that also acts as a sedative. Users may also flavor the mixture with the addition of hard candies.

Codeine and other opioids present a high risk of fatal overdose due to their effect of depressing the central nervous system, which can slow or stop the heart and lungs. Mixing with alcohol greatly increases this risk.

Rapper Lil Wayne was recently released from a Los Angeles hospital where he was taken after suffering a seizure last week. The 30-year-old rapper’s hospitalization triggered a frenzy of media reports that he was near death after suffering multiple seizures and having his stomach pumped when doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.

Sizzurp consists of promethazine with codeine syrup, any fruit flavored soda, and a jolly rancher, mixed together, according to Urban Dictionary. The rapper has professed his love for the prescription drug codeine in multiple public venues and in some of his most popular rap songs – in the form of “sizzurp,” which usually involves mixing prescription cough syrup containing the narcotic codeine with soda and sometimes hard candy, like Jolly Ranchers.

“Put it all in a Styrofoam cup and enjoy. The codeine is mainly responsible for the euphoria felt after drinking sizzurp. Promethazine causes motor skill impairment, lethargy, and extreme drowsiness. If it doesn’t have promethazine, it ain’t real sizzurp.”

MDMA is occasionally known for being taken in conjunction with psychedelic drugs, such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms, or even common drugs such as cannabis.

As this practice has become more prevalent, most of the more common combinations have been given nicknames, such as "candy flipping" for MDMA combined with

LSD, "hippy flipping" for MDMA with psilocybin mushrooms, or "kitty flipping" for MDMA with ketamine. 

The term "flipping" may come from the subjective effects of using MDMA with a psychedelic in which the user may shift rapidly between a more lucid state and a more psychedelic state several times during the course of their experience.

Many users use mentholated products while taking MDMA for its cooling sensation while experiencing the drug's effects. Examples include menthol cigarettes, Vicks VapoRub, NyQuil, and lozenges.

Krokodil is a synthetic form of a heroin-like drug called desomorphine that is made by combining codeine tablets with various toxic chemicals including lighter fluid and industrial cleaners. Desomorphine has a similar effect to heroin in the brain, although it is more powerful and has a shorter duration.

Closely related to Morphine

Krokodil is Russian for Crocodile

Use has similar effect as heroin but is at least three times cheaper and extremely easy to make, which makes it similar to meth

The main active component is codeine

Krokodil’s medical name is desomorphine

To make Krokodil, addicts mix codeine with ingredients including gasoline, paint thinner, hydrochloric acid, iodine and red phosphorous, which they scrape from the striking pads on matchboxes. Takes only 30 minutes to cook

According to Time Magazine, in 2010, between a few hundred thousand and a million people were injecting krokodil in Russia  Currently Russia is the only country in the world to see the drug grow into an epidemic.  Krokodil first appeared in Siberia and the Russian Far East around 2002, but only in the past three years has it spread throughout the country

Since 2009, the amount of krokodil seized in Russia has increased 23-fold. In the first three months of this year alone, Russian officials have confiscated 65 million doses.

Krokodil has made its way to Arizona, Illinois, and Ohio. According to doctors at Banner Poison Control Center in Arizona, two cases of the drug have been reported in the state in the past week.  “As far as I know, these are the first cases in the United States that are reported... We're extremely frightened," Dr. Frank LoVecchio, the co-medical director at the center, told KLTV.  Users filter and boil the drug before injecting it. Although LoVecchio said users believe the process removes the impurities, they are wrong.  

The average life expectancy of a krokodil user is about three years, according to KSAZ.

Binaural literally means "having or relating to two ears." Binaural hearing, along with frequency cues, lets humans and other animals determine direction of origin of sounds.

There have been a number of claims regarding binaural beats, among them that they may simulate the effect of recreational drugs, help people memorize and learn, stop smoking, help dieting, tackle erectile dysfunction and improve athletic performance.

A simple question he asked President John F. Kennedy at a press conference that helped spark perhaps the most significant public health battle for American lives – the battle over tobacco. At a routine press conference, a reporter named Mr. Prina asked President Kennedy, “What are you going to do about the tobacco problem?” That query helped set in motion five decades of ambitious tobacco control efforts that have collectively been nothing short of remarkable. At the time it may have seemed a small gesture. Of course, it was anything but. Too many of us believe that we aren’t powerful enough to change the world but you never know.
