Montrose Township Senior Center

June 2015

Project Fresh The Project Fresh season begins in June. Call the Montrose Township Senior Center for more information - 810 -639-2822 What is Senior Project Fresh? Senior Project Fresh (SPF) is part of the federal program known as Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and is sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Services (USDA-FNS). SPF provides eligible participants with coupons to purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables at authorized farmers markets and roadside stands. The program provides nutritional support to seniors, as well as supporting Michigan farmers. Who is Eligible for Senior Project Fresh? Seniors who are 60 of age or older. (Caregivers/proxy may apply on behalf of a senior). The eligibility guidelines for one person is $1276.00 a month and for two people it is $1726.00 a month. Residents of participating counties coupons can be spent at any Michigan Farmers Market that accepts Project Fresh coupons.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, because of donations and the 50/50 raffles we are able to purchase the supplies that we need and even build a new shed! Without your generosity none of this would be possible!

~ Michigan Commodity Supplemental Food Program ~ Correction and clarification: In our previous newsletter we did not have the correct amount for monthly income per person for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. The eligibility guidelines for one person is $1276.00 a month and for two people it is $1726.00 a month. Please call if you have any questions 810-639-2822
