Good Evening, Welcome to Julian’s! We hope you enjoy browsing through our Wine List and are confident that you will find something to your liking. In keeping with our policy of trading with local businesses wherever possible, all our wines are supplied by Alouette Wines, a small independent wine company based in Wirral. Established in 1982, Alouette operate from large modern premises on the North Cheshire Trading Estate in Prenton. In addition to their vast array of classic ’Old World’ wines they also carry an impressive range of contemporary ’New World’ Wines. Unfortunately, we can’t list ALL of them here............! This aromatic white Bordeaux wine has a pale straw colour and notes of exotic fruits. Excellent with seafood and white meats or as an aperitif. A crisp, dry white wine from Chile’s Central Valley. Ideal with seafood, light meats and salads. Well-known wine from the Mosel region of Germany.

HOUSE WINES ~ Red & Rosé

This red wine has a garnet-red colour and aromas of dark berry fruits and spices. An ideal accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes including red and white meats and cheeses. This typical Chilean wine has a dark ruby colour and flavours of rich berry fruits on the palate. This rosé wine is produced in Bordeaux from a blend of Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Excellent with grills, salads and spicy foods and also makes a delicious aperitif.

Typically crisp and dry with a bright green-gold colour and a fruity nose. Produced by a famous domaine owned by the reputable house of Albert Bichot, this white burgundy is full-bodied and lively with plenty of length and is at its best with seafood dishes.

This pale gold wine is fresh and fruity with a delicate dryness, and plenty of depth and complexity. A most elegant chardonnay wine from the highly regarded ‘Domaine Long Depaquit’. Superb with seafood, shellfish and poultry.

This delicious domaine-bottted wine is round and full-bodied with typical sauvignon characteristics and flavours. Excellent with fish and shellfish.

The distinctive perfume and flavour of Gewurtztraminer wines gives an impression of sweetness although the wines are actually quite dry. This wine is perfect with fish in creamy sauce, hot or spicy dishes and strong cheeses.

From the renowned ‘Maison Albert Bichot’ in the heart of the Côte d’Or region, this typical red burgundy is soft and smooth with a beautiful colour and aroma of Pinot Noir. An excellent accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes.

This elegant wine has a generous bouquet of Pinot Noir and a deep ruby colour. A soft, refined burgundy wine with intense aromas of small red fruits and black cherry. Perfect with red or white meats, particularly those served in rich sauces, and also with strong cheeses.

This excellent wine has a magnificent colour and a complex aroma of fruits and spices. Good length on the palate with an excellent balance of tannin and alcohol.

From the famous ‘Domaine de Marcoux’, this magnificent Rhône wine is rich and powerful with a bouquet of cassis. Excellent with red meats, game and strong cheeses.

The most well-known of the ‘cru’ Beaujolais, this wine has a bright ruby-red colour and delicate flavours of cherry and peach. Excellent with red meats, poultry and mild cheeses.

Produced in the Eastern part of the Gironde region of Bordeaux, and matured in oak casks, this superb wine is similar to St. Emilion in style, but slightly lighter.

A wine of immense character, intense in colour with an opulent nose of red berry fruit. This excellent Bordeaux wine is long and silky with a harmonious and elegant finish. Château Pipeau is renowned for consistently producing outstanding wines to delight the connoisseur.

This full-bodied Italian wine has a vibrant ruby-red colour and fruity aroma with hints of spice. Produced in Tuscany from Sangiovese, Merlot and Canaiolo grapes.

Matured in oak casks for 24 months prior to bottling, and then a further 18 months in bottle, this superb red wine has a deep ruby colour and a highly complex aroma. Typically full-bodied and oaky, this Reserva is excellent with roasted meats and steaks.

This fine example of Australia’s ‘signature’ wine has a perfectly balanced character of ripe black fruit and fine smooth tannins with subtle hints of spice and sweet oak. Enjoy it with a wide variety of dishes, especially red meats.

Produced from premium quality Merlot grapes selected from some of South East Australia’s finest vineyards, this voluptuous red wine has a very deep colour and juicy black fruit flavours with firm well-balanced tannins. This is Australian Merlot at its best.

This exceptional red wine has distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics, and concentrated ripe fruit with a hint of spice. Excellent with red meats or with cheese.

Produced from a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, this wine expresses flavours of blackcurrant and rich plum perfectly balanced by soft ripe tannins. Maturation in oak casks for 14 months adds a spicy complexity to the wine.
