4. Swimming Carnival BBQ Feedback

This year’s BBQ ran a little differently due to Lent. Volunteers had difficulty juggling steaks (leftover from Welcome BBQ), sausages, onions and Vegie Burgers (for Lent). Thanks to all that patiently waited for stuff to be cooked. Worked well in the end with $250 profit.

8. P&F Event Coordinators

Still looking for coordinators for some P&F Events – BiAnnual Golf Day and BBQ Coordinator. Mrs Carolyn Stewart has agreed to host the Biggest Morning Tea again this year but maybe with a slightly different format to last year.

10. Principals Report

Principal’s Reports as follows: Dave introduced Jo Riddell as new APRE.  JPS stickers – are still with BCE Graphics Dept. and are waiting for quotes and samples to come. Hoping to present at next meeting.  Yearbook – Dave contacted Fran Bosworth (previous parent of the school and yearbook Designer) to let her know of ta change to MSP (our photographers) to see what they produce. He thanked her for her years of work on this project. MSP are providing a full color package and will encourage student involvement at a cheaper cost. 1 per family will be charged on school

fees. Extras are available for families that want to purchase multiple copies. Similar flow and content as to previous yearbooks. Staff Meeting – SCRAP (School Community Renewal and Assessment Plan) - This aligns the 4 priority areas of the BCE Strategic Renewal Framework. Dave read the goals they’ve set for 2013 to give those present a taste of what it contains. Jo Riddell also spoke re: the RE Curriculum and the ecumenical aspect. The 3 main priorities for 2013 are Build Teacher Capacity; Ensure Quality Curriculum; Resource Strategically. - David explained the 2 main focus areas were: Literacy – Reading and Religious Education with a new RE curriculum being adopted. - These 2 areas will be built upon a basis of being data informed, using data to direct our decisions, practices, resourcing and building of teacher capacity. - We are a National Partnership School (Fed Govt Funding) for improving reading. - Carolyn Stewart has been appointed as an additional STIE with a literacy focus. - Lifting teacher capacity in the embedding of ICLT’s in teaching and learning. - Aligned to BCE Strategic Renewal Framework and ATSIL standards. - Contemporary learning approaches. - Question was asked about gifted and talented kids – Dave responded that this is included in our strategies. - Dave summarized again referring back to 3 priorities and 2 KLA areas.

 Teacher Wish List Teachers have presented some requests, not all with quotes and cost details. The following where tabled for consideration:Resources – Jo Riddell Jo Riddell has checked current resources for Reading and RE. Some of the broader requests are reflective of needs in these areas and are designed to complement what we already have. Home readers; PM Benchmark Reader’s; MacMillan Readers. Program called Multi-Lit (Making up lost time in Literacy. We have the kit but need books for the older kids e.g. Rugby League Reads, Rainbow Reading, Bug Club, etc. Total Figure required by Jo Riddell $19,000. Vote taken – 22 in favor, Nil against. Approved & Accepted. Reading resource station - Isobel Clarke Dave showed an example of what Isobel was after Total Cost $400 Vote taken – 17 in favor, 5 against. Approved & Accepted. HPE & Sports Items – Al Davies

Items can be portable and utilized in BCA. Total Cost $2900 Vote taken – 14 in favor, 8 against. Approved & Accepted. Total Teacher Wish List Approved up to the value of $23,700 Treasurer to liaise with school re: donations of these payments as they are purchased. Linda Vayro to liaise with JO Riddell in regards to possible grant options. 9. Treasurers Report

Wendy Duffy presented final report as Treasurer. Please see attached Report. No questions asked. Report was endorsed by Cheryl Abuid nd 2 by Linda Vayro

10. Additional General

Due to overwhelming feedback from our school community, the decision was made to hold 2 P&F Meetings this Semester at 9am, instead of the usual 7pm time, to allow all those families who are unable to get to the night time meetings. This is a trial run and will be voted on at a meeting in Semester 2 depending on how successful they have been. Meeting Closed at 8:51pm
