John Glenn High School April Scholarships *The Universal Application*: Available on JGHS website under ‘guidance’ and ‘universal application’. Insert your information in the textboxes of the application. Application only needs to be completed once. Essay, two letters of recommendation, and a photo are required. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Look for ‘(UA)’ to see which scholarships fall under this. Additional requirements may apply. **Application must be TYPED** Ancilla College: Several scholarships offered to students planning to attend Ancilla. Presidents Scholarship: Full tuition, must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and be in the top 10% of your class. Gene & Marsha Reese Family Scholarship: Applicant must file the FAFSA and have at least a 2.0 GPA. Preference for student athlete or manager. Essay and letters of recommendation required. Amount of $1,000 for books. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Auxiliary of St Joseph Regional Medical Center-Plymouth: Senior must be a Marshall County resident, majoring in a healthcare profession. See list for qualifications. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Applications in the guidance office. A Will for Welfare Scholarship: Technical college required; essay. DEADLINE: May 30, 2016. Application in guidance office. Ball State University Alumni Association: Alumni Legacy Scholarship: $500 award for children of active members of the BSUAA. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Jim Blount Memorial Scholarship: Marshall County residents planning to pursue vocational trade or technical area. DEADLINE: April 20, 2016. Bryan Verkler Memorial Scholarship (UA): Priority given to seniors attending Vincennes for law enforcement. Then they consider students going to an Indiana college for law enforcement or a related field. Final consideration planning to pursue a service related career. Chamber of Commerce (UA): North Liberty Charles “CUB” Bare Scholarship for Liberty Township graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary education. Chapman Scholarship: Must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5. You must have held a job while in high school for one or more years. You must attend college in Indiana. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Applications are available in the guidance office. Clark Family Scholarship (UA): Considers leadership & community service. Essay required. Fraternal Order of Police: This is for Marshall County residents who are interested in lawrelated careers, criminal justice including psychology, family services, social services, etc. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016.

George Swiatowy Educational Foundation: For seniors whose mother or father is a current or former member of the South Bend fire or police departments. Essay required. DEADLINE: May 10, 2016. Beatrice Goss Scholarship: Scholarship for seniors from Marshall County. Special consideration is given for music majors. DEADLINE: April 10, 2016. Harrington Orthodontics: Amount up to $1,000. This is for college bound seniors who have had treatment with Dr. Harrington. You must complete a one-page essay. DEADLINE: April 15, 2016. Information is available in the guidance office. Harry R. Ganser Memorial Scholarship (UA): For senior athletes. Essay required. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Indiana Oil and Gas Association: Must have a GPA of a 3.0 or higher, have interest in the oil/gas industry and attend an Indiana college. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. www.inoga.org Indiana Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF): Parents must be a member of the Odd Fellow or Rebekhas. Ask your parents about their membership. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Indiana Sheriff’s Association: Amount of $500. This is for seniors who are planning to pursuer a career in law enforcement. Students, parents, or grandparents must be a member of the ISA. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Indiana State University: Pansy Walker Scholarship School of Education: Amount of $1,500. Students must be in the top 10% of their class and have a GPA of at least a 3.7, SAT of 101 or ACT of 21. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Indiana University: Various scholarships offered to incoming students. Alumni Association of Marshall County: For students attending and IU campus. You must have a B average and be a resident of Marshall County. Amount of $500. Indiana University: South Bend: Alumni Association Honors Scholarship for graduating seniors. You must have an SAT score of a 1200 (CR and M) or ACT of 27, rank in top 10% and have a GPA of a 3.5 or above. Go to iusb.edu for more information Izaak Walton League: Stan Klaybor Environmental Scholarship Award: Must pursue a degree in environmental management, environmental engineering, wildlife, biology science or management, agriculture, forestry, or related fields. You must have a GPA of at least a 2.5 and an essay and letter of recommendation from your high school. Amount of $500. DEADLINE: April 30, 2016. James “Jimbo” Haskins Memorial Scholarship (UA): Essay required on the topic of leadership, friendship and community involvement. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016 John Glenn Scholarship: Any senior planning on future education after high school should apply. Strong consideration given for Falloween involvement. Essay required. DEADLINE: April 25, 2016. This is a separate application.

Traversa Memorial Scholarship (UA): For seniors with a GPA of a 2.0 or above. You must be involved in an extracurricular activity. Two essays and two letters of recommendations required. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Knights of Columbus: Bernard Westhues Scholarship: For members of St. Patrick’s Parish. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Kristin Nicole Schalliol Memorial Cheerleader Scholarship: For seniors who are current or former cheerleaders and have the spirit and enthusiasm shown by Kristin. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. This scholarship is for a LaPorte County senior who is planning to major in an environmental or agricultural related area. DEADLINE: April 2016. Leon Verhaeghe Scholarship: Must be a John Glenn senior planning to major in agriculture related field of study. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Applications in office. Marohn Scholarship: Must be a Marshall County resident planning to pursue a vocational program of a trade in college. DEADLINE: April 20, 2016. Michael Charles Albert Scholarship Fund (UA): For seniors who plan to continue their education after high school. Ounce of Prevention Scholarship: Provide an essay of how cancer has touched your life or how and when you have volunteered with Ounce of Prevention. DEADLINE: April 1, 2016. Purdue Alumni Club of Marshall County: For a Marshall County resident planning to attend any Purdue campus. SAT=1600 (CR,M,W) or ACT=22. DEADLINE: April 4, 2016. Purdue University: School of Consumer and Family Sciences/Minority Student Scholarship: Must be African American, Hispanic, or Native American and rank in the top 20% OF YOUR CLASS. Renewable for 5 years. DEADLINE: April 4, 2016. Sam Elliot Perkins IV Scholarship: For Marshall County graduates attending a Purdue campus. SAT CR+M+WR=1600 or ACT composite of 22 (minimum). St. Joe Regional Medical Center: Plymouth 2014 Health Careers Scholarship, for students attending a 2 or 4 year college in a medical related field. DEADLINE: April 15, 2016. Three C’s Memorial Scholarship: In memory of Carry Jones, Casey Miller, and Chad Beeson. For seniors who are active in school and community. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA and complete 6 athletic seasons in high school as an athlete, trainer, manager, cheerleader, band member, etc. DEADLINE: April 15, 2016. West Side Memorial Day Parade Scholarship: St. Joseph County residents, 3 letters of recommendation. Essay required on the topics of honoring veterans. Amount: $100. DEADLINE: April 30, 2016. Nichols Creative Art Scholarship (UA): For seniors planning to pursue study in fine arts, creative writing, interior design, drama, etc. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. WES PTA Scholarship (UA): Former WES students who attended for at least 3 years and had a GPA of at least 2.0 or higher. Essay required. DEADLINE: April 8, 2016. Walkerton Area Historical Society (UA): Joseph C. Lowry Memorial Scholarship. Must be planning to pursue a trades area: construction/plumbing/electrical/heating-air conditioning.
