Purpose of the Job: Mind Cymru is committed to making the largest impact it can to ensure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem in Wales gets the support they need and the respect they deserve. Alongside other members of Mind Cymru staff and the Information Team of Mind, and reporting to the Section 64 Policy & Campaigns Officer, as the Content and Project Support Officer you will assist with the rollout of the project nationally. The purpose of this post is to assist the Section 64 funded project team to meet the agreed objectives of the project, including administration and record keeping, monitoring and data analysis. A key part of the project is improving the information and support available for people with mental health problems in Wales. You will work with colleagues to develop Welsh content for Mind’s channels, particularly the website, and support and encourage individuals to share their own experiences through blogs and videos. You will provide limited administrative support to the delivery of work developing, promoting and producing services, products and projects to be delivered by local Minds in Wales, as appropriate to the agreed objectives of the project. Scope of the Job To provide project support to the Section 64 funded project team and to work with colleagues and volunteers to generate and deliver content. The role involves contact with a range of stakeholders and partners, Mind staff and volunteers in providing support to Mind’s Section 64 funded project in Wales. You will be responsible for supporting the project team

in relation to operational planning as well as on reporting against activities in relation to KPI reports and other performance management processes. You will be responsible for line-management of volunteers as agreed with your line manager. Due to the nature of the work some matters are confidential and/or commercially sensitive, and this confidentiality must be respected at all times, and complete honesty and integrity is required in all aspects of this role. Mind aims to ensure that the needs and interests of mental health service users, women and black and minority ethnic communities, disabled people and lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and people of all ages are reflected in all its activities. Mind has a Welsh Language Scheme, which needs to be taken into account in all our work. Key responsibilities Project Support 1. To be the principal point of contact for the project at national level, with responsibility for disseminating information about the project’s events, and signposting interested callers/contacts the relevant events project staff. 2. To assist the project team to organise and ensure smooth running of seminars, workshops, community events, engagement with service users of local Minds and meetings. 3. To undertake the organisation of regular engagement with users of local Minds, including booking venues, and preparing materials and equipment as required. 4. To support the project team to deliver the prioritised programme of work meeting milestones and reporting requirements. 5. Arrange for the production of appropriate information and project material as advised by the project team. 6. To log and pass on all media enquiries to the Communications and Media Officer or to the Media team. 7. Set up record systems and prepare reports, keep mailing lists and databases up-todate using correspondence, information received and research in liaison with the Project team. 8. Receive, collate and analyse project monitoring and evaluation forms, write and present appropriate information for the Project team to assist with the development of future funding applications relevant to the project and succession planning.

9. To undertake any other duties that are reasonably requested and commensurate with the responsibility of the post. Digital and Online Support 1. To work with the Information Team in London to identify core content, adapt where necessary and arrange translation into Welsh 2. To work with people with lived experience in Wales to encourage user generated content for Mind digital channels, working in partnership with the Digital team in London. 3. To work with the Communications and Media Officer and other members of the Communications Unit to develop Wales-specific content for Mind’s communciations channels (including but not limited to membership communications, e-newsletters, blogs and social media channels. 4. Support digital volunteers to develop their stories using a range of media 5. Project manage allocated work and ensure it is completed on time and to consistently high quality standards. 6. Undertake other duties that may from time to time be necessary, that are compatible with the nature and grade of this post. Expectations The post holder is expected to: 1.

Coordinate their time efficiently and to work with minimal supervision.

Attend and contribute to Mind staff training and any other training identified as appropriate for the role and/or identified in supervision.

Attend, and contribute to supervision and appraisal processes.

4.

Attend, and contribute to team meetings, annual planning meetings and other Mind meetings, as determined by the Project Manager.

Uphold the values of Mind and be a champion of Mind Cymru at all times.

Travel to meetings, and if work away from the office requires overnight stays or weekend work, extra hours of leave will be taken by prior agreement with the Project Manager

Excellent administrative skills with experience of office systems, including recordkeeping and maintaining filing systems, with the ability to carry out work that requires precision and attention to detail. 2. Demonstrable experience of producing communications including social media and web content. 3. Experience of working with users to develop content, based on understanding of storytelling. 4. Experience of working with vulnerable groups and being sensitive to their needs. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with people in Mind, and to build effective working relationships with external agencies and individuals. 6. Ability to understand and analysis complex information including reports and data analysis. 7. Demonstrable coordination and organisational skills with experience of organising at organising events, organising meetings, making travel, accommodation and other arrangements. 8. Excellent computer literacy skills including all Windows packages, digital communications and basic IT problem solving and using some or all of the following Content Management Systems, email marketing systems, social media tools, HTML and web analytics. 9. Ability to manage own work load and deal with competing deadlines, and make decisions within established procedural guidelines. 10. Ability to work as part of a team and to build effective working relationships with staff and volunteers in Mind, as well as external agencies and individuals, showing a high level of customer care.

Commitment to the use of the Welsh Language in the work of Mind Cymru. 14. Willingness to undertake travel to meetings around Wales and to London from time to time. Desirable criteria 1. Direct or indirect experience of mental health problems. 2. Demonstrable experience in mental health or related field within voluntary or statutory sector. 3. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory sector in Wales. 4. Experience in an advice, information or befriending role. 5. Ability to communicate in Welsh at a basic level.
