This role will form part of the project team supporting the End User Device (EUD) Hardware Refresh programme (valued between £1m & 5m over 3 years) The SCCM 2012 Engineer will be responsible for the deployment of core desktop/laptop and tablet builds through SCCM 2012 software supporting users through the upgrade (where relevant) to Microsoft Office 2013, Windows 7 & 8.1. The candidate will be one of the customer facing roles within the project team and be expected to provide an excellent customer service to around 10,000 users throughout the life of this project. The role also requires the candidate to report and escalate issues to the project manager at the appropriate project forums and face off to senior stakeholders as required. The Role: The role is to manage the deployment of 10,000 customers through SCCM 2012 in order to work within our current End User Device (EUD) project and facilitate a migration to Windows 7, 8.1 and Office 2013 delivery. The role will be expected to have a creative approach to failed migration issues and provide weekly MIS detailing migration progress against key milestones and within project budget.

Job Purpose Summary: To deploy core build with technical proficiency in Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012 to around 10,000 users throughout ECC. Experience in managing deployments in medium to large environments is essential

Role Specific Accountabilities (maximum 10) SCCM 2007, 2012 deployment and infrastructure knowledge including troubleshooting, design, and implementation experience Full understanding of SCCM 2007, 2012 Hierarchy including setup/troubleshooting Ability to create Advertisement/Collections/Packages within an SCCM 2007, 2012 environment. Multi-Site software deployments and scripting Understanding of setup/use/troubleshooting of software deployment “Maintenance Windows”. Full understanding of downloading and deploying MS patches using WSUS within SCCM 2007 R2, 2012. Reporting with Systems Management Center Systems Management Server or SCCM 2007, 2012 Deployment experience should be Systems Management Server and or System Center Configuration Manager Recognizes and adheres to ITIL best practice

Knowledge, Skills and Experience (maximum 10): Evaluate alternatives for deploying and supporting applications in a managed environment. Evaluates current procedures and processes for accomplishing department objectives and continuously develops and implements improved practices. Consults with customers regularly to identify needs, develop and implement proposals. Identifies and prioritizes system requirements and enhancements, and communicates to executive management. Understanding of all standard operating systems Experience with Microsoft SCCM, OSD, Task Sequences, Microsoft SMS, Microsoft BDD. Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks (i.e. WinBatch, VBScript, Batch Files) Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Shares knowledge readily and recognizes own need to learn.
