Online Editor Managing Web Editor Brand Marketing Competitive 37.5 Temp for three months from 24 November 2015 until the beginning of March 2016 October 2015

Job summary Reporting to the Managing Editor, you will be responsible for a range of online editorial and multimedia duties, and for contributing to the creation and delivery of salient, timely and accurate content to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s (GOSH) digital presence. You will be part of a Digital team responsible for the web content portfolio across the hospital and charity websites (www.gosh.nhs.uk and www.gosh.org). This is a hands-on creative role, which will involve you in the management of multiple web-related projects requiring stakeholder liaison and multiple project management skills. A key project will be the content supervision of the charity’s appeal campaign run in conjunction with the London Evening Standard and The Independent newspapers (ESI Media Appeal). Main duties and responsibilities 1. Editorial:            

Writing and proofing online copy for internal teams as required. Writing and proofing online content for diverse audiences, including children. Ensuring that all submitted content meets GOSH's online house style, maintains editorial quality control processes and is optimised for search (SEO). Implementing content management system (CMS) updates as required by the Digital team. Generating and implementing ideas for new online content and stories to agreed deadlines. Ensuring online health content is up-to-date and reviewed when required. Contributing to the overall development of the GOSH digital presence, working closely with other members of the team and departments. Where appropriate, securing and maintaining records of consent and clinical sign-off records. Project managing the redesign/updating of different areas of our websites. Adhering to editorial processes and ensuring records are properly recorded and maintained. Contributing content/stories for our in-house staff magazine as required by the Senior Editor. Producing multimedia content as required, both in-house and with production companies.

2. Drupal content management system (CMS) support:   

Supporting the Senior Online Editor in delivering digital training needs as required including: o CMS training on Drupal o Writing for web and editorial related training Providing ongoing Drupal CMS user support as required. Managing external web enquiries and trafficking system as required.

Work closely with the Managing Editor in planning and contributing to the redesign of different areas of the websites Commissioning and outlining briefs for specific design-related projects Project management:

To assist and participate in special projects as requested by the Managing Editor, such as the ESI Media Appeal. To supervise and develop multimedia content creation projects in-house and with external partners Awareness of project management methodologies, such as Agile and PRINCE2

5. Stakeholder management: 

Supporting the Digital team in establishing and maintaining productive relationships with doctors, nurses, management, academics, fundraising teams and support functions to: o raise the overall profile of GOSH's digital presence o obtain high-quality content and use the websites to respond to the needs of differing groups, professions and teams - balanced by the requirements of the external user.

6. Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested by the Senior Online Editor.
