Introduction Congratulations on purchasing Transcend’s JetFlash™. This tiny device allows you to exchange huge amounts of data and information between it and any desktop or notebook computer with a USB port. The JetFlash™ plugs directly into your desktop or notebook computer, has a large storage capacity and much faster data transfer rates, making it perfect for storing and transferring your files, folders, documents, photos and other personal digital content. In addition, the JetFlash™’s small convenient size, superior data retention and impressive appearance will provide you with a brand-new data storage experience.

Driver Installation Driver Installation for Windows® 98SE Put the Driver CD into the CD-ROM (Auto-Run supported). Click the Win98SE Driver button. If the product does not attach CD, you can download the Windows 98SE driver from Transcend’s website, http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/Driver/JF_win98driver.zip.
Driver Installation for Windows® Me, 2000, XP and Vista™ No drivers are required. These Windows operating systems have built-in drivers to support the JetFlash™. Simply plug the JetFlash™ into an available USB port and Windows will install the files needed to use your device. A new Removable Disk drive with a newly assigned drive letter will appear in the My Computer window.
Driver Installation for Mac™ OS 9.0, or Later No drivers are required. Just plug the JetFlash™ into an available USB port and your computer will automatically detect it.
Driver Installation for Linux™ Kernel 2.4.2, or Later No drivers are required. Just plug the JetFlash™ into the USB port and mount it. Example:
1.
First create a directory for the JetFlash™ mkdir /mnt/jetflash

Mount the JetFlash™ mount –a –t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/jetflash

Formatting the JetFlash™ 1. Plug the JetFlash™ into a USB port and right-click on the removable disk. 2. Select “Format” in the drop down menu to format the JetFlash™. WARNING! Formatting the Disk will erase all of the data on your JetFlash™ 3. Click on the “Start” button to begin formatting the JetFlash™ and follow the on-screen instructions.

Safely Remove the JetFlash™ from a Computer Remove the JetFlash™ in Windows®98SE Disconnect the JetFlash™ from your system directly when data is not transferring.
Remove the JetFlash™ in Windows® Me, 2000, XP and Vista™ 1. Select the
icon on the system tray.
2. The “Safely Remove Hardware” pop-up menu will appear. Select it to continue.
3. A message box will appear stating: “The ‘USB Mass Storage Device’ device can now be safely removed from the system.”
Remove the JetFlash™ in Mac® OS 9.0, or Later and Linux® Kernel 2.4.2, or Later Drag and drop the Disk icon corresponding to your JetFlash™ into the trashcan. Then unplug your JetFlash™ from the USB port. WARNING! The data might be damaged if the system power is unstable, system hangs up, or
inappropriate
removal
of
JetFlash™
while
you
are
editing
the files
on
JetFlash™. Suggest avoiding opening and editing files directly from JetFlash™. Please copy the files from JetFlash™ to the hard disk first, and then open and edit the files directly from the hard disk. Save the files back to JetFlash™ after editing.
