Network Manager When logged into Network Manager > Batch Details, perform the function and exit out. Do NOT leave the Batch Details function unattended.

PA-DSS MARPAK 3.07 is a PA-DSS Certified version. It is required that you print or download the latest copy of PA-DSS Implementation Guide from the Verifone Portal > Connect > Petro Downloads > Ruby > MARPAK. Also, you MUST review the guide with the merchant and leave a copy with the merchant. This is a major release. It is very IMPORTANT that you carefully read the entire document before attempting the software installation.

GSD Introduction GSD is an acronym for the Gemstone Software Distribution. This process defines specific application-independent upgrades to the Sapphire and Topaz XL and is part of the application software. There is no separate download. The first version of GSD is 2.0 and applies to the first applications that support Topaz XL. However, there are changes to Sapphire and Topaz that occur at the same time and are interdependent. This means that GSD software is available for sites that are Ruby/Sapphire only and do not support Topaz (in any form). The following occurs at installation or upgrade: ■

The upgrade or installation process changes for Sapphire and Topaz.

If a site installs application software that includes GSD v2.0 and, for some reason, finds it necessary to downgrade, there are specific steps that must

3

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

be followed to “downgrade” the firmware, diagnostic kernel, and the OS on the Sapphire and Topaz. Any VASC needing to downgrade from GSD to a version that does not include GSD must call the Verifone Technical Support Center to be guided through the process. The following determines if the application has GSD software: ■

Beginning July 1, 2008, a column will be added to the Lab delivery Schedule.

Release Notes will begin to include the GSD version on the front page in the versions section.

As new GSD versions become available, additional information will be provided to the Verifone Technical Support Center regarding any new issues with installation and/or revert processes.

GSD 2.1 Option Codes This application has GSD 2.1 and it requires an option code for money order devices to be entered at installation time. The money order devices and option codes are listed below. Option Codes

The “Pay inside” prompt on Gilbarco graphics DCRs has been changed to "CASH INSIDE" and "CREDIT INSIDE".

Fuel Manager The Fuel Product Name has increased from six to ten characters.

Loyalty 1. EPS Loyalty is now supported on POS platforms and corresponding enhancements to the base loyalty feature to handle multiple loyalty programs. 2. Validation has been added to the “date” field of the Loyalty refund authorization message. 3. A new feature, Smart Grade Prompting, has been added to the application. Inside cash prepay transactions involving loyalty are prompted for grade selection only if all of the following conditions are true: –

The customer qualifies for a promotion that has an associated max gallon limit.

The prepay amount divided by the lowest price of all discounted fuel grades less any discounts is above the applicable maximum gallon limit.

Manager 1. The number of taxes has been increased to eight definitions and the number of ID checks has been increased to six definitions across all platforms. 2. A Non-Tax Coupon MOP has been added to the MOP File. This adds the ability to remove tax from a taxable item.

Sales 1. Buy One Get One (BOGO) type combo discounts are now supported. 2. The capability to assign up to five fees has been added to a single PLU or Department. 3. The VeriFone Integrated Promotions (VIP) feature significantly enhances previous Mix & Match / Combo capabilities (Deal). VIP removes many of the limitations associated with VeriFone’s “Deal” feature and brings the feature into compliance with NAXML Version 3.4 schema. Some of the more significant improvements include: –

Increased number of promotions available

Variable sized item lists

Support for hourly window within a date range

Support for true package pricing (price dependent on qty purchased)

4. The POS receipt now prints the fuel product name for all network and nonnetwork MOPs as specified in the PDL. 5. Fees that are charged to PLUs and departments are now shown on the customer display. 6. Site Pause is now supported on the EPS. The Site Pause function allows the cashier to temporarily suspend fuel pumps not in use so that the cashier may briefly leave the register. This prevents a customer from fueling and driving off without paying. The Site Pause feature overrides any more permissive settings in Fuel Manager that would otherwise allow various pre-authorizations at the DCR. This Site Pause feature is used: –

To allow a site to be briefly unattended without allowing customers to drive off without paying

To manually pause all activity on pumps to get accurate Close Daily or Close Shift reports. The Site Pause feature is toggled as a choice under the [OTHER FUEL] key. By default, the Site Pause feature is off following a startup.

7

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

NOTE: Toggling Site Pause “on” will not stop pumps that are already fueling from completing the transaction. 7. Previously, there was a parameter, “Auto Fast Credit Prepay Cashout” in Manager > Configuration > Sales Config and when both the “Fast Credit Merchandise Allowed” and “Auto Fast Credit Prepay Cashout” parameters were enabled and a customer dispenses all of the preauthorized fuel, the completion was sent automatically from the POS to the network and no further receipts are printed. In this EPS version, two new parameters, “Prepay Auto Completion Enable” and “Prepay Auto Completion Delay” have been added to SMS > Network Config > Misc. If Prepay Auto Completion is enabled, every Fast Credit prepay transaction will come due inside upon completion of fueling. There is no change to current functionality where the cashier may complete the sale from the idle state by performing a [Pump#] [FUEL] key sequence from any POS except that a receipt will not be printed. The cashier may print the receipt by performing a reprint. Also, there is no change to current functionality if Prepay Auto Completion is not enabled. If the “Prepay Auto Completion Delay” timer expires, the prepay automatically completes on the initiated POS without printing a receipt. The messages on the display will be the same as if the cashier had performed the [Pump#] [FUEL] key sequence. The cashier may then reprint the receipt as needed. The Delay Timer will start when Sales returns to the Idle State. When the completion comes due inside or there are any completions waiting and if the Delay Timer is greater than the configuration setting, the completion process will automatically begin. The Inactivity Timer will be in effect between auto completions to allow the cashier to interrupt if there are a number of Prepay transactions waiting to complete. 8. The autodisapproval feature at Fuel Manager > Pump Configuration is now supported for fast credit transactions. 9. As per a U.S. SouthWest Border requirement, the cashier will now selfcertify Money Order transactions on POS. For each money order sale request and money order vendor payment, POS will send employee first name and last name to the terminal along with other required parameters. 10. The POS now has the ability to stack price-per-gallon (PPG) discounts in a Sapphire/Topaz and Sapphire/Ruby configuration. This allows a single Loyalty program to stack its PPG discounts with PPG discounts given by locally configured programs such as POP Discount. The POP Discount aspect of discount stacking is payment card based discounts. 11. The Store Phone Number has been added to the POS and DCR Receipt Header. 12. The Taxable Rebates enhancement increases the taxable subtotal of a transaction without increasing the before-tax subtotal in order to collect tax on one or more rebates that may apply based on the items in the transaction. This enhancement may be applied at the item level (when a particular PLU is sold) and/or at the promotional level (when a particular

8

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

NAXML promotion requirement is met). Also, since a single PLU may participate in multiple NAXML promotions, multiple promo rebates in addition to an item based rebate may apply in the same transaction and is supported. If there is a Taxable Rebate attached to a NAXML promo or PLU item, that amount is always added to the taxable sale, regardless of whether or not the item or items in the NAXML promo can be exempted from taxation.

System 1. Any 12-shift site configuration will now be automatically reconfigured to a 3-shift configuration during the Auto Upgrade because 12-shift is no longer supported. 2. The cash drawer will now open on a cashier initiated Close Cashier Report only if it is configured. Currently, the cash drawer does not open at this time. This enhancement will not open the cash drawer on a Close Daily Report or Close Shift Report. It will be configurable in SMS or in System Setup > Sales Configuration on the Ruby. The default will be not to open the drawer. 3. A site brand Gemstall option has been added to support Tokheim and Schlumberger debit prompts. 4. The POS receipt now prints the fuel product name as specified in the PDL from the EPS. The fuel product names downloaded in the PDL will only be visible on the receipt “after” initializing fuel. An alarm message is displayed indicating the need to do a fuel initialization after the PDL. 5. The application supports OpenSSL 0.9.8L. 6. In Gemstall, the DCR-specific keypad choices have been divided into two groups under the DCR Keypad Gemstall option. 7. Brand support has been added for HPS Tokheim and Schlumberger DCR prompts and keypads. 8. Auto Upgrade progress information is now provided on the Topaz in the form of overlay messages and on the Ruby in the form of alarm messages. 9. Smart Fuel Controllers Fuel Options for SFC-Gilbarco and SFC-Wayne have been added to the Gemstall options and will be noted in the Installation Printout. 10. The cash drawer now opens only if a non-zero safe drop related MOP is present in the Electronic Cashier Register (ECR). 11. A single fuel product can now be associated with more than one fuel price display ID. The primary purpose for this enhancement is to allow the cash and credit price for one fuel grade to be shown on a fuel price display. 12. Smart Fuel Controllers DCR options for D_SFC_Gilbarco, D_SFC_Secure_Pump_Pay, and D_SFC_Dresser/Wayne have been added to the Gemstall options and will be noted in the installation Printout.

Ruby/Sapphire Dispenser Card Readers When a DCR has a single [Pay Inside] key on a 4 x 5 keypad, the default MOP is used for the fuel price level when approving the dispenser.

System 1. The PLU promotion Gemcom dataset no longer reads the PLU file for every record. 2. The Tidel Sentinell Electronic Safe Interface is now supported on the Ruby.

Sapphire Dispenser Card Readers (DCR) New secure screens are now used for user input screens to support the Gilbarco Encore 700 S dispenser card readers.

Reports 1. The prNum, serviceLevel number, mopNumber and tierNumber combination entries are now for all combinations including zero sales/price change in the Fuel Price Change Report. 2. The Dispenser Flash Report was added to Sapphire to be accessed by the Topaz and SMS. 3. The GemPro department totals have been increased from 100 to 300.

Sales Customers at sites with Sapphire can now pay for a car wash at the car wash entry system or bay using cash or any card type (credit, debit, fleet, and so on) supported by the application. This new feature is configured on the Car Wash Pay Point Configuration form in Sapphire Management Suite (SMS) Configuration Manager > Device Manager > Car Wash Pay Point Configuration. Up to four (4) car wash bays can be configured and up to four (4) car wash packages may be made available for purchase at each bay. A new reporting period, Car Wash Pay Point period, has been added, which is used in the Car Wash Pay Point Reconciliation Report. The report generally covers several days and shows the amount collected and the amount dispensed as change.

Site Management Suite (SMS) 1. The Site Management Suite (SMS) now has the option to close the daily report. This would enable a remote manager or owner to log into SMS and remotely close the day if the cashier does not have the security to perform a close day. It also allows the day close to occur just once as opposed to the current Topaz AEOD feature if enabled closes the day repeatedly at the specified time until disabled. With the exceptions of a non-recurrence of the day close and not having to specify a time for close, this feature works the same as the current Topaz AEOD feature. The SMS Group Price Change feature has been enhanced in the following ways: –

The ability to sort by existing column headings

The ability to add a checkbox to each entry to select which entries a price change is to be applied to instead of all entries in a department

2. The changes are limited to determining which PLUs will have their prices changed and then invoking the desired price change to only those selected PLUs. 3. Currently, NAXML Deal does not check for duplicate entries. This enhancement now checks for an existing record and will not allow the creation of a record with the same Primary Key (Combo, MixMatch, ItemList ID). The user will be prompted to continue or abandon the record. 4. The card names are now abbreviated in the SMS POP by Card Type window. 5. SMS now supports Windows® 7 32-bit. 6. The login, error, and status dialog windows and the main form in SMS have been changed to conform to the software branding guidelines. 7. The SMS Configuration Manager now supports NAXML Import/Export functionality. 8. The EBT MOP has been added to the Cash Controls section of SMS > Report Navigator > End of Day. 9. A security level may now be set in SMS for correcting an error during a transaction with the [ERROR CORR] key on the Topaz. 10. The Network Journal Browser and Network Journal Report has been modified to support multiple network payment lines within a single transaction. This handles split tender with one or more prepaid cards and a credit or debit card.

System 1. White List Processing is a new feature that enables the Transaction Set Archiver server to connect to the Sapphire to retrieve data after receiving the event notification through a proxy server. 2. The latest security updates have been applied to the Apache Web Server, OpenSSH, and OpenSSL. 3. The VRCU overlay can now be installed on a HPV-20 with the 5.02.00 image. 4. For manual installations of NewPro, a random temporary password will be given for the manager user. The VASC is required to login to SMS and will be forced to change the manager password. Then, the manager user can enable other SMS users. For Auto Upgrades, the previous SMS passwords will be saved, so there is no need to change them. The Secure User #1 is by default the manager user. The SMS user manager's password needs to be entered as the Secure User #1's password. It is recommended that all capital letters be used in passwords for secure users. If the user forgets this one time password, the VeriFone Technical Support Center will be able reset the password of manager user. Previously, a non-secure user can be created using Sapphire Configuration Manager without specifying a password which makes the password nonexistent. Now, a non-secure user cannot be created without providing a PA-DSS compliant password. Previously, when a non-secure user is converted to a secure user or admin, the password is set as expired. Now, the password is not forced to expire. 5. Approval or rejection codes have been added to the DCR transaction messages from the EPS on the Sapphire journal. 6. A standalone application has been created to facilitate import and export of XML configuration data to and from the Sapphire. 7. The HPV-20 UpTime now performs the Sapphire CPU-5 to CPU-6 conversion. 8. The GemPro time now synchronizes automatically with NewPro time at the top of each hour. 9. The TLog has been updated to secure sensitive encrypted information to meet PA-DSS requirements. 10. TLogs have been enhanced to allow the user to configure number of days the TLog is stored. The maximum allowable amount is 365 days. Also, the deletion of TLogs has been enhanced to meet PA-DSS requirements. 11. When accessing index.html directly, such as http://sapphire/ NetworkJournalBrowser, the protocol is now changed from “http” to “https.” 12. Instructions have been added to the Journal Browser online help on how to access the Network Journal Browser.

13. A masked account number is now provided for Signature Capture in SMS Transaction Viewer.

Topaz Cash Acceptors The Cash Acceptor Report has been added to the Topaz close period reports.

Car WAsh 1. The Topaz setting for SMS > Device Manager > Car Wash > Days Car Wash Code is Valid has been changed from 1-99 to 0-99. The POS and DCRs will only print an expiration message on the receipt if the days valid parameter is non-zero. 2. The options of enabling and disabling car wash have been added to the Topaz Fuel Manager menu via the touch screen. 3. This enhancement allows communication between the outside car wash PayPoint card reader and the first network.

Manager The maximum number of the PLU Promotions is now 999 for Topaz.

Reports 1. In-House account names now print on the Topaz Pay In receipt and SMS House Account Report. 2. The Blend Product Report is now available on the Topaz and in the SMS Report Navigator for Periods 1 and 2. It is also available as a Flash Report on the Topaz. Also, the Blend Product Report is now stored during period close. 3. The Flash Reports can now be printed from the Topaz Sales Ready Screen by selecting CSR Function > Reporting Menu > Flash Reports. 4. An Automatic End of Day (AEOD) function may now be configured to perform a close daily at a specific time of day whether or not the Topaz terminal is attended by a cashier. One advantage of this feature would be to allow businesses to run a close daily after the store is closed for the day. Options in the AEOD function include: –

Switching the function on and off

Choosing a time of day for the automatic close daily to take place

Choosing whether or not the automatic close daily prints out

Choosing whether to stop new fueling and wait for active fueling to end before the automatic close daily begins

13

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

The automatic close daily is turned on and configured in Reports Manager similar to the Ruby terminal. 5. The PLU Exception Report, Safe Drop Report, and POP Definition Report can now be printed from the Topaz. 6. The Network Totals Report is now available in the Topaz Flash Reports.

Sales 1. Item Price Check for Topaz has been enhanced in order to perform a price check on an item and tell the customer the price of the item before tax and total price after tax, as well as modifier prices before and after tax (if any). This allows the customer to make a purchase decision based on the amount of money they have to spend without the cashier having to ring the sale and potentially void it. 2. A new option has been added to select or reject a partially approved prepay fuel amount. If the customer selects “Yes” then the prepay amount will be reduced to approved amount. If the customer selects “No” then a zero dollar completion is sent to host. This was corrected. 3. A new feature has been added to disallow 'PLU not found' sale on the Topaz. Currently, if the “PLU Not Found Department” parameter is set to ‘0’, the Topaz prompts the user to select a department from a list of all configured departments. A new Sales Configuration parameter has been added that determines whether to prompt for a department on each PLU not found sale. If this property is disabled and the Sales Configuration > “Plu Not Found Department” parameter is ‘0’, the Topaz disallows the PLU sale and does not prompt the user for “Plu not found department” to be used on the item during the transaction. 4. The fuel prepay amount is now displayed in addition to the prepay icon “P” on the Topaz for a prepaid fueling position. 5. The “Recall” button has been enhanced on the Topaz to automatically recall a ticket if only one ticket remains suspended from that register. This enhancement eliminates displaying the menu. 6. Bar code loyalty card scanning is now supported in a Topaz and EPS configuration. 7. The limits for NAXML Promotions configuration has been expanded to the following: –

500 Item Lists (Mixes)

10,000 Items in Promotion

500 NAXML Combos (Match)

500 NAXML MixMatch (Package Price Deals)

16 Department Item Lists (Mixes)

8. Receipt Reprint functionality has been enhanced with Filtering options. The cashier can now filter the last 200 receipts based on date/time of

14

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

transaction, fueling postion number, credit or cash MOP, fuel only, fuel plus merchandise, merchandise only, and card type. 9. The Topaz now has an option to separate each tax configured instead of combining all the taxes together. 10. Two additional options have been added for amount and percent discounts in the touch-to-modify menu that appears when a line item is touched on the Topaz. 11. The Topaz cashier display now shows the authorized amount for partial credit authorization transactions. 12. Pay Out by Money Order is now supported on the Topaz. Reports will also be updated to report the Money Order Payouts. 13. Prompts displayed on the PIN pad are now duplicated on the Topaz. The input will not be displayed to the cashier.

System 1. Line Item Display is now disabled by default because not all sites are running the latest version of ViperPAY on their MX Series PINpads. 2. A new menu, Set System Date/Time, has been added to the Maintenance menu on Topaz. This menu only appears if the site does not have a server and the application does not sync with the network. For those sites that do not sync with the network, a configuration of an NTP Server has been added to SMS > Network Manager > Network Config > Misc Tab. 3. Electronic signature capture on the MX Series PINpad is now supported on Topaz. 4. The Electronic Safe Interface now includes Tidel Sentinel Safes. 5. The dismissal of the modifier menu can now be enabled or disabled based on the property setting “topaz.sales.allowDismissalOfModifierMenu” in Sapphire Properties. An entry is made in the log if the modifier menu is dismissed. 6. Line rotation support has been added for the Partner customer display CD7220 and CD6420. 7. Sapphire and Topaz now supports collecting site asset data and forwarding it to the EPS. Also, SMS will display and print the site asset data. The site asset data will include information about the site and the details of each terminal. 8. The “Corporate User” is now available for site use on the Topaz. 9. The log server IP configuration can now be changed via a user interface by the secure user admin any time without having to perform installation and/or having to call the VeriFone Technical Support Center. 10. Two scanners are now allowed on the same Topaz and can be used in the same open transaction. This allows the site to have two checkout lanes on the left and right side of the POS and PINpad. The PINpad is located in the

15

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

center. While a customer in one lane is gathering their merchandise to leave the store, the cashier can start ringing up merchandise for the next customer in the other lane. Also, the cashier needs to pay attention that the merchandise is not scanned from the other lane. 11. The daily message area on the Topaz screen has been changed to allow merchants to send messages to their cashiers. Currently, the message area is being used to notify the cashier of Amber Alerts. 12. Serial and IP DVR is now supported on the same Topaz. 13. Scanned coupons are now supported on the Topaz. With this new feature, a site can accept valid non-expired scanned coupons at the transaction level. Also, when the coupon discount is added at the ticket-level, there is no check to see whether the associated item has been added to the transaction. In addition, this feature can be disabled from SMS. 14. Line item display is now supported in conjunction with MX ViperPAY.

VIPER Marathon FEP 15. Updated Bash shell to latest version available from the open source community. The Dealer Configuration is now sent to the POS when the VIPER receives the FID table as part of the RCI so that the updated Dealer Configuration prints on the receipt header. 16. A new Topaz menu, Trigger Pull Functions, has been added to Network Manager menu > EPS Network Functions. This menu allows for a Trigger Pull Request, Trigger Pull Configuration, and printing the Trigger Pull Configuration Report. 17. The authorization time for DCR transactions has been reduced when full service attendant or Mannatec cards are used. 18. Configurable timeout values are now provided for the RCI Trigger pull request. 19. A report has been added for the taxable rebates applied. This report is generated from the T-Log and is not a POS report. 20. A void activation is to allow customers to deactivate their prepaid cards at the store. Currently, Activation department with product code 533 is being used for doing an activation/recharge. When a customer wishes to activate/recharge a gift card, cashier sells 533 product code which allows customer to pay for activating/recharging prepaid cards. Performing a refund of 533 could be done in the following transactions: –

Deactivating customer's prepaid card.

– Refund of failed activation/recharge Do the following steps to deactivate a gift card: a. The Cashier refunds using the 533 product code.

16

b. The Customer is prompted to swipe prepaid card for deactivation. c. After the deactivation is successful, cashier refunds payment to a MOP. Do the following steps to refund a failed activation/recharge: a. The Cashier refunds using the 533 product code. b. The Customer is prompted to swipe prepaid card. 21. Incomm TOR processing and open denomination product support to Incomm is now supported. 22. The “Cash Credit Pricing By Card Type” feature now supports EBT cash cards. 23. Credit receipt printing has been enhanced for signature capture and the small credit amount support. It also saves on receipt paper, by providing the ability to the cashier to decide whether to print a Merchant or Customer receipt copy. This feature can be enabled in Dealer Configuration. 24. Network and Cash messages now print on the bottom of all receipts. 25. Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is now supported on the EPS. 26. The Fleet Card Prompting has been enhanced when checking product restrictions. The EPS inspects the sales ticket line items for any invalid product codes. If invalid product codes exist, the customer is not prompted for fleet card input and the message “Invalid product for card type” is displayed to the cashier. Also, when the swipe-ahead functionality is used, all the fleet prompts are still displayed as the items would not yet be known by the EPS. 27. InComm has been enhanced on the Topaz with EPSPAK. InComm is a provider of third party gift cards, stored value cards (private label gift cards), and prepaid items (cards and handsets). 28. The Batch Total Report can now be printed for open batches as well as closed batches. 29. Zero dollar amounts are always sent for preauthorizations for transactions coming from both inside and outside. 30. Sale and authorization requests that were approved offline (terminal approved) are now sent to the network for online approval once conmmunication is restored. 31. 33. The EPS now supports remote updates for sites using DHCP and dial up using PPP as their primary connection. 34. This feature captures the signature electronically when a signature is required for a network sale. The benefits are: –

When a card is used and a signature is required, the customer is prompted for signature on the MX Series terminal. The printed receipt does not include a signature line, but depending on configuration settings, may include the signature image.

It saves receipt paper by allowing the cashier to decide whether or not to print a Merchant and Customer copy.

35. Fees for Debit transactions are now supported. 36. VISA ReadyLink is similar to a prepaid card that it enables customers to instantly load additional funds to their VISA card at participating retailers. The reload process is simple. The participating merchant accepts the money, swipes the card, and gives a receipt for the transaction. The customer has immediate access to the funds that was added to their card. NOTE: Some retailers may apply a VISA ReadyLink reload fee. It is the retailer's responsibility to identify whether it is a ReadyLink card or not. VISA ReadyLink is an optional service for reloadable VISA prepaid card issuers and may not be available on all cards. VISA ReadyLink card has all the acceptance and usage capabilities of a normal VISA card. It can also be recharged remotely at POS terminals. The recharge transaction is identified as “Card Load” and is displayed as a negative amount in the batch report of the Close Shift and Close Daily Reports. The VISA ReadyLink option is controlled through the site’s PDL. The following parameters were added to the VISA card type at Network Manager > Configuration > Credit Card Configuration: –

Card Load Enabled

Card Load Min Val

– Card Load Max Val “Card Load” sales transactions are assigned to a department and any Card Load fees are configured under the Manager > Fee/Charge File. After the “Card Load” department is created, the department number must be added to the parameter “Credit Card Load Dept #” at Manager > Configuration > Sales Configuration.

Upgrade Summary New Installation Required All Ruby-Only sites are no longer supported. Sites must use a full new installation to upgrade to MARPAK 7.01.01.

Onsite New Installation Upgrades Sapphire onsite new installation upgrades begin with the same steps for Saving Sales Data and Settings.

Ruby/Sapphire and Topaz/Sapphire Site Installations Overview Sapphire installation uses files from MARPAK_V7_01_01_Suite_Beta_CD.exe, which, when extracted, provides the GemPro files for Gemstalling; folders and files for installing both NewPro and Topaz from a CD; and a folder containing the files to install Sapphire Management Suite. See Sapphire Installation CD Preparation.

GemPro After extracting the files, use the GemPro Installation for Sapphire Sites procedure to install Sapphire GemPro.

NewPro After preparing the CD, use the NewPro Installation for Sapphire Sites procedure, which uses a CD-ROM and HPV-20, to install NewPro. NOTE: See VASC Bulletin 1210_002 for CD file structure changes.

Topaz Workstation Installation Topaz workstations are upgraded from the same CD containing the Sapphire installation: MARPAK_V7_01_01_Suite_Beta_CD.exe. Topaz installation follows Sapphire installation. See Topaz Workstation Installation.

SMS See SMS Installation for Sapphire Sites.

Sapphire GemPro Board Upgraded To CPU-6 Beginning with Base 160, the Sapphire Site Controller GemPro board software has been upgraded from CPU-5 to CPU-6. This software upgrade enhancing the operating system is accomplished at Gemstall time, and the process also converts

the CPU-5 Ruby Card to a CPU-6 Ruby Card. Only the software is upgraded. The hardware remains the same. NOTE: Failing to perform this procedure correctly could damage your system. This software upgrade is for Sapphire or Sapphire/Topaz sites only. Documentation on the CPU-6 upgrade may be found on the Verifone Premier Web Connection at Petro Downloads > Sapphire > Sapphire and SMS: Other Documentation.

Gemstall Graphics DCR options — Dresser/Wayne An “unbranded” option has been added to Relsapp.vfg for Dresser/Wayne graphics DCRs. NOTE: If the “unbranded” option is chosen, RAM graphics must be disabled on DCRs to prevent reverse video.

Questions? If you have any questions while upgrading, the Verifone Technical Support Center is available for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 888-777-3536.

Saving Sales Data and Settings Saving Data Use these steps to begin any onsite upgrade: 1. Close the current report periods. a. Run Close Cashier Totals and Print Cashier Report at the controller Ruby terminal. In a multiterminal system, run Close Cashier Totals and Print Cashier Report at each workstation also. b. Run and print close period reports. Run Close Shift (Close Period 1), Close Daily (Close Period 2), Close Monthly (Close Period 3) and Close Yearly (Close Period 4). Print these reports. c. Run the Payroll Report using the “Close” option. 2. Make sure that the last batch was reconciled. To do this: a. In Network Mgr > Print Batch Report, select the appropriate batch. b. Look at the Network Report (part of the Close Daily report printed above) for the last balanced batch. c. Verify that the last balanced batch on the “In Balance” totals agrees with the last batch on the Network Report.

Sapphire Install CD Preparation Overview Sapphire GemPro, Sapphire NewPro, and SMS for this release are all contained in the self-extracting zip file MARPAK_V7_01_01_Suite_Beta_CD.exe. This file may be downloaded or distributed on a PC. In either case, double-click on this file and choose “Unzip”. The files will be placed in C:\MARPAK V7.01.01 Suite Beta CD.

GemPro The GemPro component is MARPAK_V7_01_01_GemPro_Beta_Software.exe. Double-click on it and it will extract to C:\Gemstall\MARPAK\V7_01_01\GemPro where it is Gemstalled using Relsapp.vfg. See GemPro Installation for Sapphire Sites.

NewPro The NewPro folders and files must be burned to the root of a CD-ROM disk for installation. NOTE: See VASC Bulletin 1210_002 for CD file structure changes. NOTE: It may be convenient to place the SMS folder on this CD. The GemPro file does not need to be placed on the CD, although it may be. Whether or not it is placed on the CD, remember to Gemstall from files on your PC’s hard drive and not from the CD. See NewPro Installation for Sapphire Sites.

Topaz See Topaz Installation for Sapphire/Topaz Sites.

SMS Sapphire Management Suite files must also be burned to a CD for installation. They may be placed on the CD used to install NewPro or on a CD of their own. See SMS Installation for Sapphire Sites.

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

Important Information A Note About Sapphire/Topaz Suite Software Only the GemPro, NewPro, Topaz, and SMS versions supplied as part of the MARPAK 7.01.01 software suite may be used. Other versions of these software suite elements MUST NOT be substituted. They will not work.

Initial Release Series For MARPAK and VIPER Software Overview These Release Notes, Ruby/Sapphire, and Sapphire/Topaz are for MARPAK 7.01.01 in the release series of MARPAK using the Verifone EPS (Electronic Payment Server) as the network connection. The hardware for the EPS is the Verifone VIPER. For details on the MARPAK concept and details on converting sites to MARPAK follow.

The Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz EPS Interface Overview MARPAK is the Ruby/Sapphire and Sapphire/Topaz application that utilizes the Verifone generic EPS (Electronic Payment Server) instead of a direct Ruby-tonetwork connection. The EPS handles all primary network card processing for any POS device on the site. The Verifone EPS is the VIPER server. The most obvious difference on site is that the Ruby and Topaz magstripe reader is disabled, and credit and debit card swiping is performed on a Verifone MX Series PINpad connected to the VIPER EPS through a router or switch.

Card Usage: Primary Network Credit and debit cards are swiped by the customer outside at the DCR as usual, or inside at the Verifone MX Series PINpad. While the mag-stripe readers on Ruby terminals are disabled, the Ruby or Topaz keyboards are used for manual entry of card information.

59

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

Card Usage: Secondary Network Proprietary Cards Mannatec or CFN secondary network Proprietary Cards are also swiped outside at the DCR as usual, and inside at the MX Series PINpad. As before, a Verifone Vx570 terminal serves as the interface with the secondary network.

Configuration: EPS VIPER The EPS card table functions are configured by the host network.

Configuration: Ruby With the EPS, each POS device must have a POP (Point Of Purchase) ID. Each of the up-to-four Ruby terminals possible in a Ruby/Sapphire system is identified by their POP ID. By default, this POP ID starts at ‘1’ for a Ruby and counts up until the maximum of POP IDs is reached. These POP IDs may be configured at System Setup > Network Mgr > POS Configuration > EPS Comm Settings.

Configuration: Topaz The Topaz Network Manager functions are set in the network applet and the network connectivity is handled by the EPS. With the EPS, each POS device must have a POP (Point Of Purchase) ID. Each of the Topaz terminals possible in a Sapphire/Topaz system is identified by their POP ID. By default, this POP ID starts at ‘01’ for a Topaz and counts up until the maximum of POP IDs is reached. These POP IDs may be configured at SMS > Network Mgr > Network Config. (Applet).

VIPER Configuration As part of the installation, the system will already be configured to communicate with the VIPER. See the IP Configuration Tool Guide for setting up the IP addresses.

VIPER Network Configuration The Merchant ID, Terminal ID, and Host IP Address and Port are populated when the VASC uses the Trigger Pull function after it has been configured. Additional parameters are also set up as part of the configuration download that is sent to the VIPER. These parameters cannot be setup using SMS.

MARPAK Network Reports The network reports no longer print as part of the period reports. The MARPAK network reports must be printed from the following area: Topaz > CSR Func > Network Menu > EPS Network Reports The following reports require a secure user ID and password: ■

Topaz > CSR Func > Network Menu > EPS Secure Reports –

Terminal Batch Detail Report

Marathon Batch Reports - Current Local Details Report - Local Details Report - Exception Report

Backdoor Password Several functions and parameters require the entry of a backdoor password. These functions and parameters should only be used with the assistance of the Verifone Technical Support Center, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 888-777-3536.

Gemcom Version For Sapphire sites, this application requires Gemcom 1.08.10 or higher, available on the new Verifone Premier Web connection (go to Petro Downloads > Sapphire > Sapphire Utilities). Gemcom 1.08.10 or higher is recommended for non-Sapphire sites as well. Gemcom is supported on the platforms and applications to the degree of offering the same data that it has always offered, but no new datasets or features. If a backoffice system provider wants access to the data and totals resulting from new features, they must use the PDK for such access.

Gilbarco Sites Must Set PAM Jumper Gilbarco sites must enable the PAM (Pump Access Module) for buffer price mode by making the CPU board jumper JP7=A.

POP Discount Enhancements and Limitations Alternate POP Lowest Price Level Configuration When using the Alternate Configuration for POP Discount, only sites with Tokheim dispensers may use either the value ‘1’ or the value ‘2’ for the parameter “POP Lowest Price Lvl (1=CA 2=CR)” in Fuel Manager > Site Parameters > Fuel Site Parameters. Dresser/Wayne and Gilbarco sites must enter the value ‘1’ when configuring this parameter.

61

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

Bennett DCTs Support Standard POP Configuration Bennett DCTs with Horizon 1 (firmware v6.27) or Horizon 2 (firmware v2.15) dispensers now support POP Discount with Standard Configuration only. To support POP Discount, the dispensers must be equipped with a Bennett 515 interface box (firmware v5.07).

Dresser/Wayne HyperPIB 54000 Sites May Use Standard POP Dresser/Wayne sites equipped with HyperPIB 54000 or higher may use the Standard Configuration for POP Discount. Sites without HyperPIB 54000 or higher must use the Alternate Configuration for POP Discount. Note that if the Standard Configuration is used, and if dual cash/credit pricing is enabled, the POP Discount will be given on both cash and credit sales.

Gilbarco Sites Must Set PAM Jumper As noted above, Gilbarco sites must enable the PAM (Pump Access Module) for buffer price mode by making the CPU board jumper JP7=A. This applies to POP as well as other sites.

Gilbarco With PAM May Use Standard Configuration Gilbarco sites with PAM version 32.1.60 or higher may now use the Standard Configuration for POP Discount. The Alternate Configuration remains available for all sites including Gilbarco.

POP Fueling Limit POP Discounts awarded for purchasing specified PLUs or departments, such as car washes, may now be limited by cutting off fueling in a POP-eligible transaction at a pre-configured dollar amount. Only the fuel purchase, and not any other merchandise or service, such as a car wash, counts towards the dollar fueling limit.

POP Membership Requirement POP Discounts have been enhanced to allow a site to require that customers wanting any available POP Discount must use a Membership Card. This option is available for any site set up in the Basic+Membership mode. It can be used to restrict any of the five non-Membership discount types for the benefit of those presenting Membership Cards only. Setting the new parameter “Membership Card Required?” to ‘Y’ when setting up any of the 10 possible POP Discount transactions in Manager > POP Transaction File will mean that a Membership Card must be presented to receive a POP Discount under a Transaction Definition calling for: ■

Purchase of a specific PLU

Use of a specific MOP

Use of a specific credit card

Purchase of at least a minimum amount

62

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

Purchase of at least a minimum amount from a department

Standard Configuration: 10 Prices Per Fuel Grade POP Discount sites using the Standard Configuration may now set up to 10 price definitions for each grade of fuel offered for a POP Discount. Previously, only two price definitions could be set up for each grade of fuel.

Proprietary Cards On Secondary Network: Mannatec® or CFN®, and Fuelman/GASCARD® The Ruby application’s secondary network Proprietary card interface for Mannatec or CFN cards has been upgraded to Proprietary Card Protocol version 2.0 from version 1.0. Sites using Proprietary cards with protocol version 1.0 must get their ACU (Authorization Control Unit) upgraded by the Proprietary card provider to version 2.0 for the Ruby terminal to interface properly with the Proprietary card network and the Verifone Vx 570 terminal. Fuelman/GASCARD is another Proprietary card that may use a secondary network, but Fuelman/ GASCARD transactions may now be made within the Ruby application and do not need a secondary network. They must not be set up on both a secondary network and the host network used by the Ruby system. When Proprietary cards are used with a secondary network, a Ruby card is required. In addition, sites may elect to accept only one secondary network Proprietary card. This means that either Mannatec, CFN, or Fuelman/GASCARD may run on a secondary network with Fuelman/GASCARD not supported on the Ruby terminal. Alternatively, this means that either Mannatec or CFN may run on a secondary network while Fuelman/GASCARD runs as part of the Ruby application. NOTE: Fuelman/GASCARD must not be set up both as a secondary network using an ACU, and as a Ruby supported option. Fuelman/GASCARD is set up as a Ruby supported option when the PDL (Parameter DownLoad) from the host network authorizes acceptance of Fuelman/GASCARD in Network Mgr > Configuration > Credit Card Configuration. Therefore, if the site has Fuelman/GASCARD set up as a secondary network using an ACU, the site manager must make sure that the host network knows NOT to include Fuelman/GASCARD in its PDL. NOTE: When the Proprietary card interface with ACU version 2.0 is connected through a MUX (port MUtipleXer), the MUX must be reconfigured to allow both numeric and non-numeric values, both of which are necessary for interfacing with version 2.0. Switch number 7 of switch banks SWA and SWB must both be set to “ON” in the configuration. See “VASC Field Service Bulletin No. 0206-003 and 0207-002” for details on reconfiguring the MUX.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz in These Release Notes Changes in categories such as Enhancements and Resolutions are separated into such sections “Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz”, “Sapphire and Topaz”, and “Topaz.”

63

MARPAK 7.01.01 Beta

Verifone ISD Software Release Notes

For instance, a Resolution designated “Ruby/Sapphire/Topaz” would apply to Sapphire sites with a Ruby or Topaz, while a Resolution designated “Sapphire/ Topaz” would apply only to Sapphire sites with a Topaz.

Sapphire GemPro Board Upgraded To CPU-6 Beginning with Base 160, the Sapphire Site Controller GemPro board software has been upgraded from CPU-5 to CPU-6. This software upgrade enhancing the operating system is accomplished at Gemstall time, and the process also converts the CPU-5 Ruby Card to a CPU-6 Ruby Card.

Sapphire LOGIN Switch In “UP” Position The LOGIN switch on the front of the Sapphire Site Controller must be placed in the “UP” position and left that way at all times. The only exceptions are while upgrading or when a Verifone representatives asks that the switch be put in the “DOWN” position for diagnostic purposes.

V950TM PC Replacing Dell PC Overview HPV-20 sites may now be equipped with the Verifone V950 PC, which is a replacement for the Dell PC. The operation of the V950 PC and the Dell PC is similar, with the V950 having an advanced operating system (XPE). Just like the Dell PC, the V950 PC is needed for Sapphire sites and can work with or without the Sapphire Site Controller to provide on-site maintenance operations such as and Upgrade. The Upgrade menu updates the software on the POS to a later version that was previously downloaded onto the V950 PC. In addition, the V950 system allows the Verifone Technical Support Center to remotely conduct diagnostics while the POS is operating.

Terminology System — The system and software enabled by either the V950 PC or the HPV20 PC is still referred to as “HPV-20”. PC Name — Since either PC may be used to run HPV-20, the term “V950/HPV-20 PC” is used to refer to the PC running the HPV-20 system.
