We need a leader who pushes the boundaries of what’s possible, and will work closely with a small but committed team to make magic happen.

We are a charity, and operate like a startup organisation, which means our positions are fluid and very ‘hands on’. You’ll be across all areas of the organisation and be involved in the development, implementation and management of a variety of areas. You’ll get to work directly with our Relationships Manager, Chief Wordsmith, Finance Manager, and our Chief of International Programs, and indirectly with the rest of our team. We are looking for a CEO who will spend at least 30% of their time on Fundraising. Whether it be networking, giving inspirational talks, meeting new people or engaging with businesses – income generation will form a core part of the role. You will have five direct reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

Strategic Planning Operational Management Fundraising Leadership and Management International Program Management

STRATEGIC PLANNING • Promote One Girl’s vision and mission. • Ensure that One Girl achieves its stated goals and objectives though the development and execution of the strategic plan and annual operational plan and budget. • Work closely with the team to develop plans that articulate and prioritise assets and systems needs to support the long term direction and viability of One Girl’s operations.

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT • Overall management of the team including finance and administration, human resources, IT services, and fundraising. • Oversee One Girl’s finances, ensuring development and control of financial plans and annual budgets. • Oversee and review financial activities, policies and practices to ensure quality and effectiveness of the financial and risk management of One Girl. • Implement critical business systems to support growth, sustainability, transparency, and accountability.

FUNDRAISING • Oversee the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy that sustains One Girl’s strategy. • Provide operational support and strategic oversight to the fundraising manager and optimise our major Fundraising campaigns, including Do It In a Dress. • Develop and nurture relationships and partnerships with companies that share One Girl’s vision and mission. • Oversee One Girl’s online presence and ability to reach supporters.

LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT • Provide motivation, leadership direction, mentoring (as required) and feedback for all the team and provide roles that empower and develop the team. • Manage overall team performance, capacity and professional development to achieve integrated service and relationships. • Oversee the liaison between team members to identify and manage team member’s workload issues. • Create and nurture a culture of innovation.

INTL. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT • Oversee the development and implementation of a program strategy. • Provide operational support and strategic oversight to the program manager. • Support the program manager by ensuring that appropriate processes and policies are in place, to adhere to the different elements of the project cycle. • Oversee the development, preparation and submission of grants as well as other proposals. • Oversee the granting of One Girl funds to implementing partners.

LOCATION This is a Melbourne based position and you will be required to work in our Collingwood office on a daily basis. (Except for Work From Home Wednesday where you can choose to work from home).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Essential • Proven leadership and extensive management expertise o High level conceptual and strategic planning ability o Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fundraising • Proven ability to implement change and function strategically within a dynamic organisational context • Demonstrated experience in managing a small resource constrained organisation • Demonstrated experience in financial, human and physical resource (risk) management • Proven ability in building and leading teams with a strong record as an effective, team-oriented leader. • Demonstrated skills in representing and negotiating with a range of stakeholders to obtain funding to support the organisation • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and advocacy skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships with the Board and key stakeholders.

Desirable • Relevant degree with postgraduate qualification • Demonstrated experience in the development sector • Proven experience in program management in a development setting
