Julie Bretland
 Founder Our Mobile Health Julie has 20 years experience in mobile at Ericsson, Vodafone and startups across Europe and Africa. Julie completed her MBA at London Business School, where she was the recipient of the Celia Atkin Advent scholarship. Julie serves as co-founder of the Digital Health Professionals Network, a member of the expert panel of the London Mayor’s Health Commission and a frequent speaker on digital health.

Victoria Betton Director mhabitat With Masters Degrees in Women’s Studies and Social Work, Victoria is currently undertaking PhD research in the field of social media and mental health at the University of Leeds. She is founder and director of mHabitat, an NHS initiative, which supports digital innovation in health and care. Victoria co-founded the People Driven Digital #PDDAwards and authored a white paper entitled People Driven Digital Health and Wellbeing, in June 2015. She is a member of the Y&H Digital Health & Wellbeing Board and

Professor Rami Qahwaji University of Bradford / DHEZ (Digital Health Enterprise Zone) Rami Qahwaji is Professor of Visual Computing at University of Bradford. He is also the Academic Director for the Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire. His research interests include: computer vision, machine learning and data analytics with proven track record in the fields of medical imaging, satellite imaging, data visualisation and applied data mining working with medical and industrial collaborators.

Ceri Batchelder Connect & Create Ceri was trained as a PhD bioscientist and worked as a research scientist in the US before subsequently holding roles in knowledge transfer, biotech, healthcare and the digital sector. She also has an MBA from Manchester Business School. Dr Batchelder currently runs Connect&Create, which connects healthcare organisations with the arts and creativity, with a focus on digital healthcare, healthcare innovation and science communication.

 

Paul Egan IoTUK Principal Consultant – Hardware and Communications, Digital Catapult Paul Egan is a Principal Consultant at the Digital Catapult. Paul is a specialist in the Hardware and Communications aspects of IoT, in the development of market shaping engagements, and in further deepening the Digital Catapult’s connections to UK and global entrepreneurs, innovators & investors. Previously Paul was at the UK startup Neul where he was a co-founder and VP of Business Development. Neul pioneered the concept of Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) for IoT in both licensed & unlicensed spectrum. Neul was successfully acquired by the Chinese company Huawei in September 2014. Prior to Neul he was one of the core team at CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio – now part of Qualcomm) where he held a number of technical and commercial rolls for over ten years. In the early 90s he was an early part of ARM where he worked on their first devices including a chip for the Apple Newton.

Idris Jahn IoTUK Principal Consultant – Middleware and Data Interoperability, Digital Catapult Idris is the Principal IoT Consultant for Middleware and Data Interoperability. He has over 18 years of experience in data integration

 

having started his career with Cisco to design and build distributed systems. Idris has extensive experience in enterprise middleware technologies including TIBCO and Sonic in addition to open source standards such as JMS. Idris is also familiar with integration standards related to the IoT including MQTT and HyperCat. For the past 10 years Idris has been identifying IoT opportunities where multiple high velocity data sources need to be to analysed very quickly using Apama Complex Event Processing. This has given Idris opportunities to create real-time solutions for manufacturing optimisation; personalised consumer engagement for retailers, sports clubs and mobile operators; social media analytics including sentiment for proactive support; improved patient engagement in healthcare using mobile and wearable devices. Idris has a BSc in Physics from UMIST and an MSc in Computer Science from Staffordshire University.

Craig Heath IoTUK principal Consultant- Security, Digital Catapult Craig has worked in computer security for over 25 years, on UNIX systems, Enterprise Java and mobile device platforms. He was Chief Security Technologist at the Symbian Foundation and now provides security consultancy as well as volunteering at Bletchley Park. Craig is author of several publications on computer security, including the book “Symbian OS Platform Security”.
