Storage Centres The storage industry is enjoying a significant growth period as the UK populous gradually adopts the USA’s long established reliance on self-storage. The UK Self-Storage Industry The UK self-storage industry is still in its relative infancy compared to its much more established USA counterpart. Over the last 30 years, the UK industry has enjoyed a steady growth period of around 10-15% per year and is now estimated to be worth £15bn per annum.* The Self Storage Association UK’s annual report for 2014 revealed that 88% of respondents opened no new centres in 2013. Having already opened three new centres this year, Store First is confidently performing well above market expectations. For the remainder of 2014 and beyond, Store First will continue to identify key geographical locations for future development to accommodate the growing consumer and commercial need for self-storage in all parts of the UK. We have eight new sites coming soon, including Manchester, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Northampton and Kidderminster.
