Assistive Devices

The service clubs and other organizations listed may be able to help with the cost as well. Contact them directly if you think you are eligible. Check too to see if insurance and employment benefits cover costs. The person who prescribes the device may have information about where to get financial assistance. Most applications for assistance from these agencies and clubs is done through a phone call to the number listed, asking for an application form. Call during office hours, generally 9 am to 5 pm. A referral letter may be required from a health care professional and this will be indicated on the application. Applications may be available on the agency’s website. Unless noted, services are available in English, although some agencies may be able to arrange for interpreter service or may have staff and volunteers that speak other languages. Services may be provided with no or low cost fees and income verification may be required.
