Introducing the new V10 Sport

The original... Born to be a winner

The Epic V10 Sport was a game changer when Þrst introduced to the surf ski world in 2006. Epic offered the Þrst stable surf ski that was still extremely fast in down wind conditions and on ßat water. The V10 Sport ßattened the learning curve for many paddlers who wanted to go to the next level but could not paddle efÞciently in a less stable surf ski used by the professional and highly experienced paddlers. Based on its forgiving, yet incredible performance, the V10 Sport was EpicÕs best selling surf ski for 5 years. Both Greg Barton and Oscar Chalupsky won races in the V10 Sport. It became one of the most successful and imitated surf skis ever!

Fast, agile and... stable

Epic has raised the bar again with the all NEW, FASTER, and more userfriendly V10 Sport, all without any loss of stability. The NEW V10 Sport is the best all-around surf ski for intermediate to advanced paddlers in a variety of conditions! Intermediate level paddlers will quickly appreciate the higher speeds on ßat water, while advanced paddlers will enjoy the enhanced balance, speed and handling characteristics in the big stuff!

Epic technology

At Epic, we design all of our own products, controlling the production from idea to Þnished product.  This has allowed us to generate an enormous database of design ideas and implementations for the last 10 years.  If we need to tweak a given design to get the desired result, we know exactly where to focus.  The V10 Sport will be shipping with all of Epic’s 2013 innovations and new design features.

All Epic Kayaks surfski rudders ship with a titanium rudder shaft for extra strength and minimum weight. Surf rudder: Has elliptical shape and has been designed for maximum control and stability in downwind conditions. Standard/ Universal rudder: Has been designed to allow good maneuverability in rough seas and also removal of obstructions like sea weed, plastics and ropes. Weedless rudder: Has been designed to remove all obstructions while providing sufÞcient steering control in moderate seas.

All of our foot braces now include extra reinforced hinges with thicker walls and metal hinge rod. This means less wear and tear and lower maintenance costs. There is an integrated cutaway for your drinking system which will allow you to get easy access to a water system stored in front of the cockpit. Large: designed for people with large feet so they can push against the foot brace without engaging the rudder pedals. Standard: designed to Þt most paddlers. Tall Boy: designed to Þt over the cockpit edge allowing extra distance in the cockpit for paddlers with long legs.

Ultralight Þttings

Cockpit set up Paddling the NEW V10 Sport with deck cutaways gives you a narrower catch, similar to a K-1 racing kayak. This allows for better paddling technique and matches the feeling and efÞciency of the fastest boats in the world. The entire cockpit has been redesigned including a lower hump under the knees for increased stability and better leg drive. The improved, contoured seat can comfortably Þt a wide range of paddlers.

Ergonomic handles EPIC’s all new lightweight and ergonomic HANDLES for easier carrying in heavy wind conditions and for easier tie down.

Revolutionary bailer system We believe that within 2-3 years every surfski on the market will have this as a standard feature. The new EPIC BAILER (patent pending) bails 6 times faster than any conventional venturi or bullet system. It can be operated by the paddler’s feet, which means you don't have to miss a single paddling stroke. The bailer can be completely closed for ßat or cold water conditions and has four adjustable positions depending on the conditions. Oscar Chalupsky tested the prototype of the new bailer at the Molokai World Championships in 2012 and says it was a factor in helping him win. Clint Robinson used the new bailer when he won the 2013 Molokai World Championships on the Epic V14.
