Q&A WITH MICHELLE SPARROCK, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT Was it challenging to create products that were both “green” and high performance? MS: Yes! There were challenges with stability. It took much, much longer than usual to develop Live Clean Professional. We had to keep tweaking and revising. How different are Live Clean Professional Products from other Live Clean hair products? MS: Our original formulas are so good we had to keep upping our game as we proceeded. We’ve used ingredients that really improve your hair over time. And these are more specific products; Healthy Balance, for example, exfoliates and stimulates hair. High results salon brands are essentially chemical and certainly not green or natural. How did you get the results you are getting? MS: Honestly, it’s tough. Salon hair brands are full of silicone and so are cosmetics -- they give a very smooth appearance to skin and hair. But we won’t use silicone. We worked with Vita-Bond Complex™ which consists of natural peptides that form a barrier to help prevent breakage and natural ingredients that bond with the hair cuticle These are the first Live Clean products that are colour free. MS: Yes, and we’re very happy about that. We’re committed to being eco-friendly. Why did you create the Healthy Balance products as a part of this program? MS: Because at the heart of healthy hair is a healthy scalp. It’s as simple as that.
