Format of Industry Track Workshop Theme: “Driving IoT innovation through Sensors” Invited Talks in select verticals by Industry professionals and practitioners Panel Discussion by policy makers (government officials), policy influencers & technology drivers (industry representatives of various verticals enabling smart infrastructure) Start-ups exhibition (to network with biggies and encourage collaborations) Takeaways

Industry Track – Selected Verticals for Workshop Energy & Utilities Health Care Industrial IoT Standards

Aim of the workshop Provide a platform/forum to get industry practitioners of IoT and Sensors to share key technology advancements and innovations Given the focus and emphasis on smart cities in India, it is important to have thematic discussions on the concepts like:  What do we mean by Sensors?  What is ‘smart’ and what is ‘automation’?

‘Sensor network and management’ is also in the scope. Create an awareness and ecosystem

Platform for Start-ups Information about government offerings, support and policies Know-how of state-of-the-art in IoT domain Funding opportunity Networking Showcasing Informal discussions on how to protect their intellectual property

Panel Discussion Theme – “IoT Driving Smart Infrastructure”  6 people (2 from Govt. of India, 1 from Govt. of Gujarat, 2 from Industries, 1 Moderator from IEEE)  Expert view, 10-12 min each  Open forum, 45 min  Summary by Moderator  Total duration – not exceeding 2 hours Note that Govt. of Gujarat (the state where TenSymp 2015 is being held) is developing 1st Smart City of India, called GIFT City, in Gandhinagar. GIFT City is joining hands with IEEE-SA to prepare a guideline to define a Smart City.

Target Audience Since in this workshop Industry professionals will showcase their solutions / prototypes / blueprints that could serve as inputs to the next version of the IoT policy, audience would be: Industry professionals Practitioners Start-ups Academia – students and faculty Government executives Venture capitalists/investors

Deliverables of Industry Track Identification of niche areas under IoT domain where Industry Standards are needed on priority – an opportunity for IEEE, in general, and IEEE Standards Association, in particular White paper of Recommendations for Government of India (particularly for Smart City) Soft mentoring of Start-ups of IoT domain Awareness of IoT and Sensors technologies Networking

Tours & Attractions for delegates

Venue City - Ahmedabad Ahmedabad (also called Amdavad) is Gujarat’s major city, and a startling mini-metropolis. Straddling the Sabarmati River, it’s one half old-world charm, and the other half new-world noise. It’s also remarkably cosmopolitan, with a rich Muslim history, a tangled, beautifully restored old city, stunning museums, fine restaurants and fabulous night markets.

Reaching Ahmedabad International Connectivity

Domestic connectivity to Ahmedabad

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport Is well connected by air with the rest of the country by the major scheduled airline operators. Flights operate between Ahmedabad and the metropolitan and other major cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa and Jaipur. It is just 15 km north-east from the city- centre. The airport consists of the International and the Domestic Terminals. They both use the same airside facilities but are separated on the landside, with a 5minute distance between them.
