14 January, 2015 International Taekwon-Do Federation Draugasse 3, 1210 Vienna, Austria Dear Sirs LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION SENIOR MASTER ROGER YEO CHIN HUAT We refer to the above matter and we thank you very much for your continued kindness and support of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F.) Singapore Pte. Ltd. (ITFS). We hope this e-mail finds everyone in great health and happiness at the dawn of this new, and incredibly busy and promising New Year. 2. We owe a countless measure of gratitude to many people for the assured opportunity to promote ITF Taekwon-Do in Singapore, with guaranteed legitimacy, sound and consistent standards, and always, with the encouragement of a brighter future. We wish to take special mention of Senior Master (SM) Roger Yeo Chin Huat and shed light on his contributions to ITFS, prior to the unfortunate demise of our beloved Chief Instructor, Mr Michael Pang Hin Siong, and his immutable support for ITFS thereafter. We have come to know that there are promotions being considered in the near future, and we wish to take the opportunity to show our gratitude to SM Roger Yeo. 3. ITFS recognises SM Roger Yeo as an ever-persevering master of ITF Taekwon-Do, having started Taekwon-Do in Singapore since 1966. SM Roger Yeo’s skills and lessons are the subject of our cravings and we treasure every lesson that is generously provided by him every time he returns to Singapore. Having left Singapore for Sweden in 1977, SM Roger Yeo has never forgotten ITF Taekwon-Do in Singapore, and has kept in close contact with Mr Michael Pang and paid many visits to share his knowledge and training whenever he returns to Singapore. SM Roger Yeo does so at his own time during vacations and at no cost. 4. Mr Michael Pang had also held SM Roger Yeo in high regard and encouraged all students to learn as much from him as possible. SM Roger Yeo’s humility and compassion was shown by his great concern for Mr Pang as he travelled to Batu Pahat at Johor, Malaysia, to visit SM Tan Chek Si and Mdm Lee Sock Cheng, amongst the other wonderful practitioners there. …/2

14 January, 2015 International Taekwon-Do Federation 5. At the time of Mr Michael Pang’s sudden demise, SM Roger Yeo had, along with SGM Leong Wai Meng and SM Tan Chek Si, called on members of the ITFS immediately to guide and support ITFS. As SM Roger Yeo became aware that Mr Michael Pang’s demise was too sudden to leave a trail of paperwork, SM Roger Yeo had selflessly shared his precedents of paper work to ensure that all administration was covered, amongst other things. He had continued to call on members of ITFS, especially the previous President, Ms Chen Weiling, to ensure that everything was in order and everyone was well. 6. SM Roger Yeo continued to support ITFS by holding trainings every time he visits Singapore. Very often, a single training would not suffice and extra trainings would always be requested by ITFS, to which SM Roger Yeo had infallibly entertained our requests despite the short window of free time he would have in Singapore. The trainings on 22 February and 3 March 2014 were an example of his fruitful dedication, without which the black belt grading in early May 2014 would have been much more difficult. History repeated itself for the training camp on 8 November 2014 following the same example when SM Roger Yeo had held an additional training specifically for the black belts on 11 November 2014. 7. There is very little we can do to return SM Roger Yeo the many favours he has done for us and his dedication towards supporting ITFS except to shed light to it. Whilst many others, everyone at ITF HQ, Senior Grandmasters, Senior Masters and fellow practitioners have contributed pricelessly to ITFS, SM Roger Yeo’s contributions have been extremely noteworthy. It is our hope that ITF HQ would take notice of SM Roger Yeo’s contributions to ITFS. We thank you very much for your kind attention and support. Yours in Taekwon-Do ONG JOHN TECK President, ITFS
