International Rover Meeting & ROCH Anniversary (5th - 8th May 2016) The International Rover Meeting is an event organised each year in a different European country. After, if we may be so bold as to say so, a successful get-together in De Rijp (2011) it is again up to the Rover Owners' Club Holland to try and offer its guests something to look forward to. The Organising Committee has been rather busy for quite some time, both in finding a suitable venue as a 'home base', and to come up with an enjoyable, varied and interesting programme, as shown in the ' trailer' below.

Pre-Announcement & Provisional Planning The venue for our Meeting will be the WestCord Hotel Salland, a beautifully located, central spot in the regions of Raalte and Deventer. As soon as all arrangements are confirmed you will receive invitations in which all details will be unveiled. The 3-star WestCord Hotel Salland is situated on the edge of the village of Raalte, inbetween the cities of Zwolle and Deventer. Using old building materials for the larger part (about 80%), the hotel was made to resemble an original Saxon farmstead. The WestCord Hotel Salland has 40 hotel rooms, including split level family rooms, and a self-contained apartment. All rooms and lounge areas have free WiFi internet facilities. There is also a hotel bar with a fireplace, restaurant and terrace. The regions around Raalte, Holten and Deventer, offer a variety of local events and museums. Both the bustling centre of the city of Deventer, and the quietude and wonderful scenery of the local 'Salland Mountain Range' can be reached within twenty minutes.

Thursday, 5th May 2016 (Ascension Day and bank holiday for the Netherlands i.e. Liberty Day 5th May 1945): Start of the Meeting. In the course of the afternoon: first arrivals and guests from abroad to be welcomed in the Hotel Salland. Free evening. Friday, 6th May: After breakfast two visits to museums (obviously not as the crow flies -- we do want to use our Rovers). 1) Visit to the Ford Museum, established at an old Dutch mill.

2) Lunch 3) Visit to the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij (Steam Train Company). The Beekbergen Station is the heart of this living railway museum, where the true steam railway buff will find his nirvana: larg sheds and works, a magnificent old station building with its nostalgic office, an enormous 'turn-table' for steam locomotives, all sorts of signals, manually operated level-crossings, etc., etc., supported by archive photographs and 'railwayana'. You will relive the era of the steam engine. 4) Start your own engines and return to Hotel Bar for rejuvenating drinks to be followed by dinner.

Saturday, 7th May: Breakfast, after which we have arranged the following (provisional) programme: 5) Visit to Harley Museum. 6) Tour to the 'Salland Mountain Range' and visit to one of the sights on the Holterberg.

7) Followed by visit to Coachbuilders Jansen in Wesepe, where we will also have lunch. At the Jansen firm a team of six work on a wide range of different cars from 2CV Citroen to Rolls Royce. True coachbuilders, evidenced by their own products such as the CarVan, the TrailAway and the boattail coaches of pre-war sports cars, including a number of Rover Specials.

We will be taken on a guided ' technical' tour of this unique works embodying the motto 'Your Hobby Is Our Passion'. The versatility of this company is shown by the many and varied projects. In short: not to be missed!

8) See 4)to be followed by dinner and live music. Sunday, 8th May: Breakfast and Goodbyes.
