over 35 and have an official golf handicap, you can join 400 golfers from all over Australia. The 4 round tournament will see you play 2 rounds on both Royal Hobart and Tasmania Golf Clubs, arguably the State’s finest. One of the tournament’s great traditions is that the age and handicap divisions guarantee you play with golfers your own age and standard.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP The Championship will be a 72-hole single stableford event. “A” grade golfers will also be eligible to compete for a 72-hole ‘gross’ event. Competition rounds will be conducted on Monday 23 January, Tuesday 24, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 January 2017.

THE COMPETITION GOLF COURSES

AGE GROUPS & HANDICAP DIVISIONS You are guaranteed to play with golfers your own age and standard. 35-55 A,B,C grade (max h’cap 30men; 40 ladies) 56-65 A,B,C grade (max h’cap 30men; 40 ladies) 66+ A,B,C grade (max h’cap 36men; 45 ladies) Age and handicap divisions may be adjusted based on entries. In partnership with GOLF Link (Australia) and International Golf Associations the tournament committee will review the 6 month playing history of all entrants. The tournament committee reserves the right to amend player handicaps.

TASMANIA GOLF CLUB

Tasmania Golf Club is a challenging layout with million dollar water views situated on the picturesque Barilla Bluff. The course is rated within the top 100 in Australia and the third hole was recently rated the 3rd most picturesque Par 5 in Australia – it is often compared to the finishing hole at Pebble Beach.

The ‘slope handicap system’ will be utilised to calculate player handicaps for the Championship rounds. Under the slope system, the difficulty of the golf course and the tee blocks played from determine a player’s handicap prior to the start of each round. More information about this system can be found online under the World Masters Golf Championship Tournament page under ‘The Competition’ tab.

PACE OF PLAY For the enjoyment of all players, field sizes will be limited and experienced marshals will monitor pace of play. Tips to improve speed of play and the penalties for slow play will be provided to all players.
