CONFERENCE COMMITTEE Following his graduation from the Department of Computer Science at Michigan Technological University in May2006,Chairs Mustafa Güçlü started to work at Siemens Conference Enterprise Communications as software engineer, where he designed and developed communication solutions for companies such asBMW and Daimler Chrysler, enabling themto manage their communications in-house. After serving Türk Telekom as software integrator for a year, he took part in a critical telecommunications project developed in Germany, CzechRepublic, Turkey and Romania, as project manager. In 2010,he received his MBA degree from Bilkent University. Later in 2014,he was appointed as Solutions Engineer at Blackboard Turkey. He continues to give academic and technical support to universities in order to ensure success for organizations cooperating with Blackboard. During his Blackboard journey, he worked with several universities in three regions, namely Turkey, Eastern Europe and Russia, where he carried out analyses in line with these institutions’ goals and designed consolidated e-learning ecosystems featuring the required solutions and services, based on these analyses.

EMRAH DİLSİZOĞLU, BLACKBOARD Emrah Dilsizoğlu graduated fromIstanbul University Faculty of Law in 2003. After taking his master’s degree in International Law at the University of San Fransisco in 2005, he started the doctorate program at YeditepeUniversity. Having delivered speeches at various conferences and meetings including the European Symposium on Energyand Renewable Energy, Time to Take Inspiration from Education 2014 Turkey Conferenceand the 2015 American-Turkish Council Annual Conference, Emrah Dilsizoğlu is the General Manager at Blackboard Turkey, a company which supports organizations by delivering solutions for educational technologies. Having started direct operations in Turkey, Blackboard put Emrah Dilsizoğlu in charge of all the operations involving direct communication with the existing and potential users by supporting Turkish universities and guiding their local investments. FADI ABDUL KHALEK, PEARSON Among his Pearson Duties as VP, Fadi is overseeing Pearson’s transformation into a holistic Learning provider with focus on technology, efficacy and workforce readiness. Fadi leads a team that is responsible for setting up internal and external partnerships around the design, development and implementation of Digital First Educational Solutions and Learning Ecosystems. He is also involved in delivering desired growth outcomes for Pearson’s own/partner schools and colleges. To do so, Fadi works closely with K-12, Higher Education, Vocational and Further Learning Institutions. Before joining Pearson Education, Fadi served as the Vice President for Educational Services at McGraw-Hill Education. In addition to Fadi’s role in the initial set-up and roll out of the Educational Services division at McGraw-Hill, he spearheaded Global Innovation, Research and Development within the division, and was responsible for the Centre of Innovation and Excellence – an outcomes-based educational services offering. Fadi also headed business development activities in China, India, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and lead a team that concluded two Joint Ventures in China, and one Joint Venture in India, alongside numerous other partnerships and projects. Prior to working for McGraw-Hill Education, Fadi was the President and CEO of UKS, one of the leading eLearning organizations in the Middle East with operations in Europe, Asia and North America. UKS is widely recognized as a leader in the educational transformation journey that has been taking shape over recent years. Before these aforementioned posts, Fadi had more than 12 years of experience in academic and corporate education and was involved in the research, development and implementation of various knowledge based technologies, 7 year of which were within IBM Business Services Division. LOUISE THORPE, Blackboard Based in Sheffield in the UK, Louise leads Blackboard’s International Strategic Services Practice and serves as the Consulting Market Lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa.Louise and the Strategic Services team support institutions in turning their strategic vision into a reality through the effective and efficient deployment of learning technology. This includes both the facilitation of expert, external Strategic Reviews and Strategic Planning exercises and the embeddingof deep subject matter expertise through Strategic Design and Strategic Delivery activities across a range of educational themes. Louise specializes in supporting clients to develop strategy and to plan and implement large-scale change programmes, particularly around student retention and throughput, academic adoption of technology, online programmes, and online assessment and feedback. During her time with Blackboard, Louise has worked with many key clients advising on how to drive transformational change in the way they engage learning technologies to meet their educational ambitions. Prior to joining Blackboard, Louise was the Head of Academic Innovation at Sheffield Hallam University, where she had institutional responsibility for e-learning, personalization of learning, new and emerging learning technologies, and digital literacy attributes of staff and students. She also led an institution-wide change project to design and implement an enhancement-led Academic Quality Framework. Before that she was Head of Learning and Teaching Strategy and Enhancement at the University of Sheffield where she led the development and implementation of the institution’s Learning and Teaching Strategy, OFFA Access Agreement and e-learning Strategy, as well as managing institutional Learning Development Agenda. From 1999-2003, Louise managed one of the earliest institution-wide Blackboard implementation in the UK, again at Sheffield Hallam.
