Laboratory Manager Sydney: Norman is the manager of the Sydney Laboratory. He has over 30 years experience in the fields of earthworks, geotechnics & other testing disciplines, with previous experience managing a large consulting engineering laboratory. Norman is a NATA technical assessor and NATA signatory for soils, aggregate and concrete testing.

Laboratory Manager Wollongong: Dave is an Associate of Douglas Partners and is the manager of the Wollongong Laboratory. He has over 20 years’ experience in Earthworks and Laboratory testing including residential subdivision, dams, airports, shopping centres, parks, quarries and large scale road projects. Dave is a NATA technical assessor and NATA signatory for soils, aggregate and concrete testing.

Laboratory Manager Central Coast: Dan is the manager of the NSW Central Coast Laboratory. He has nearly 10 years experience with Douglas Partners, undertaking earthworks and laboratory testing, for both earthworks and engineering projects. Dan is a NATA signatory for soils and aggregate testing for both Australian Standards and relevant state roads authorities. He has worked on projects including major road projects, subdivisions, railways, ports and mining projects.

Laboratory Manager Melbourne: Arveendra is an experienced practitioner in earthworks and soil laboratory testing, and is a NATA signatory. He oversees a team of technicians that perform earthworks quality control tests and advanced soil laboratory testing to Australian Standards and VicRoads methods. Arveen’s major project experience includes the M80 Western Ring Road upgrade, Monash Freeway, and Level 1 supervision of earthworks on several subdivision and large industrial developments.

Laboratory Systems Co-ordinator: Brett is a Senior Associate and is the Laboratory Systems Co-ordinator for Douglas Partners. He has over 30 years’ experience in Earthworks and Laboratory testing, is a NATA technical assessor and NATA signatory for soils, aggregate and concrete testing and is responsible for internal auditing and maintenance of laboratory quality systems within DP.
Laboratory Manager Brisbane: Serge is the Manager of the Brisbane Laboratory. He has over 20 years experience in earthworks, laboratory testing and is a NATA Signatory. Serge has worked on projects including major road projects, industrial and residential subdivisions, ports and airports projects.

Laboratory Manager Campbelltown: Anthony is an Associate with over 20 years experience with Douglas Partners Pty Ltd in Earthworks and Laboratory Testing from regional base and on-site laboratories for a variety of projects. He is a NATA technical assessor and signatory for Australian Standards for soils, aggregate and concrete testing. He is a member of Standards Australia committee (aggregates).
Laboratory Manager Townsville: Dean is the Manager of the Townsville Laboratory, he has over 10 years experience in earthworks and Laboratory Testing, and is a NATA Signatory. He has worked on major projects including Dams, Roads, Subdivisions and has completed level 1 Supervision on many sites.

Laboratory Manager Newcastle: Dave is the manager for the Newcastle Laboratory. He has over 15 years experience in earthworks and laboratory testing. His expertise includes aggregate, concrete and earthworks testing to both Australian Standard and Queensland Department of Transport Standards. He is a NATA technical assessor and NATA signatory for soils, aggregate and concrete testing.
Laboratory Manager Darwin: Jai is the manager of Laboratory in Darwin. He has over 5 years’ experience in Earthworks and Laboratory testing. Jai is a NATA signatory for soils, aggregate and concrete testing. He has worked on many earthworks projects across the Northern Territory and New South Wales and on-site laboratories including remote location projects, residential subdivisions, airports, shopping centres, secure facilities, quarries and large scale road projects.

The Oran Park Precinct is 1100 ha parcel of residential subdivision land. 134 projects have been completed by DP throughout the Oran Park Precinct since the completion of the Land Capability Assessment. These projects included subgrade investigation, pavement design and lot classification for all completed stages, Level 1 bulk earthworks testing for all precincts to date, Level 2 earthworks testing for all filled roads, earthworks quality reports for all completed earthworks stages. Client: Landcom/Greenfields Development Company
Comprising 8 Precincts with multiple stages over a total area of approximately 110 ha with over 4300 m of roadways and over 430 m of retaining walls. DP’s involvement included preliminary geotechnical reporting for 1,2, 3 and 4; subgrade investigation and pavement design for the above precincts; lot classification, multiple precincts; Level 1 bulk earthworks control for all precincts to date; Level 2 earthworks control for all filled roads; earthworks quality reports for all completed earthworks stage; Spring Farm is expected to provide ongoing work for DP for the next few years. Gregory Hills, NSW
Comprising 20 total stages, the subdivision covers a total area of approximately 45 ha consisting of 2404 allotments. Gregory Hills contains a town centre, primary school, sports complex, over 10,000 m of pavements, and isn’t expected to be completed until 2016 or later. DP’s involvement included preliminary geotechnical site investigation and reporting; Phase 1 and 2 contamination assessments; subgrade investigation, pavement design and lot classification; Level 1 bulk earthworks control for all precincts to date; Level 2 roadway earthworks testing for all filled roads; earthworks quality reports for all completed earthworks stages. Client: Dart West Developments Pty Ltd
The Northern Distributor Extension is a 3km dual carriageway extension of the Wollongong Northern Distributor from Bellambi to Bulli costing $110 million. DP was the nominated Primary Testing Authority on the project and was involved in all field and laboratory testing. Client: RMS, Reed Constructions
Daru Port, PNG
QCLNG Upstream, QLD
DP draws on its extensive experience in Papua New Guinea to provide geotechnical and groundwater advice, analysis, and on-site laboratory facilities, for a proposed deep water port development. The port will initially be used for the export of resources from the Ok Tedi Mine and transhipment opportunities for other bulk commodities from PNG and Northern Australia. The port works include overwater investigation for the port and approach channels, land based drilling for the nearby Daru facilities, and a preliminary investigation for a potential groundwater source on Daru. Client: Canstruct Pty Ltd
The Queensland Curtis Island Liquefied Natural Gas (QCLNG) Project will supply coal seam gas from Queensland Gas Company’s (QGC) tenements in the Surat Basin to the Liquefied Natural gas (LNG) plant located on Curtis Island, Gladstone, Queensland. As part of the geotechnical field work, DP reviewed existing soil information, conducted subsurface investigations, installed groundwater monitoring wells, performed geophysical testing (multi-channel analysis of surface waves and surface-to-downhole seismic velocity logging), conducted geological mapping of the proposed pipeline network and proposed borrow pits, and completed laboratory testing. Northern Distributor, NSW
Shell Cove is a $1.5 billion residential and tourism precinct being developed by Shellharbour City Council and Australand Holdings Ltd. It is the largest coastal development by a local government authority in Australia. Shell Cove already has over 2,000 homes, a primary school and an 18-hole championship golf course. The development will eventually have around 3,000 house sites. DP have undertaken geotechnical and environmental investigations; Level 1 and 2 earthworks, road and drainage testing; lot classification and pavement design. Client: Australand Holdings Ltd
M80 Upgrade, VIC
M80 Western Ring Road Upgrade Project ($750 million) involved widening of existing freeway with at least one lane in each direction and auxiliary lanes from Calder Interchange to Sydney Road Interchange for 10 km. DP was involved in the geotechnical investigation and detailed design for bridges, earth retaining structures, rock cuts, major embankment crossings and other associated structures. Extensive laboratory testing was provided for detailed design and field density and materials testing was conducted for all pavements and reinforced earth structures during construction, together with routine earthworks quality control testing.
