INSURANCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ANNUAL TRAVEL INSURANCE EUROPE AND WORLDWIDE

Insurance terms and conditions no. 0904 This is a translation of the original Danish terms and conditions. In case of any discrepancies, the wording of the Danish original shall apply.

Basis of contract The insurance contract made with Tryg represents the policy, any endorsements and the insurance terms and conditions.

Furthermore, Danish legislation shall apply, including the Danish Financial Business Act and the Danish Insurance Contracts Act to the extent that the latter has not been derogated from.

Pre-existing illness If you have a pre-existing illness, the insurance covers treatment of an acute worsening of the illness occurring during the trip, provided that the illness has been in a stable, good phase* for the past 2 months prior to departure.

If you are in doubt about what the insurance covers, you are welcome to contact us on phone no. +45 70 11 20 20.

The European Health Insurance Card (The blue card) We recommend that you order the blue card through your municipality.

Contrary to the Danish Tourist Health Insurance Certificate, the blue card also covers treatment of pre-existing illness, and the cover is not limited to pure holiday trips.

When travelling within Europe*, you should contact The Danish Health Security.

The card substantiates that you are entitled to medical assistance in Europe* in line with the country’s citizens.

Supervision and Guarantee Fund Tryg is subject to supervision by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and affiliated to the Danish Guarantee Fund for Non-life Insurance Companies.

Right of cancellation Applies solely to private consumer insurances You have a right of cancellation in connection with purchase of private insurance, but the right of cancellation depends on the three following situations: • You have met our representative when you purchased your insurance. • You have not met our representative physically when you purchased your insurance (distance selling). • Your insurance has been amended, and you are therefore entitled to exercise your right of cancellation in relation to such amendment. You can find further information on the right of cancellation in s. 34(i) and s. 34(e) of the Danish Insurance Contracts Act.

The right of cancellation period

The right of cancellation period is always 14 days, and commencement of the period will depend on how the agreement was made; see items 1-3 below: 1. If you have met Tryg’s representative when you purchased the insurance, the right of cancellation period will commence at one of the points in time below whichever is the later: a As from the day when it has been confirmed that you have purchased the insurance. b Or as from the day when you have received explicit and written information on your right of cancellation. 2 . In connection with distance selling, the right of cancellation period will commence at one of the following points in time whichever is the later: a As from the day when it has been confirmed that you have purchased the insurance. b As from the time when you have received the information which Tryg is under an obligation to provide you with either on paper or by email. 3. In case of alterations, the right of cancellation period will commence according to the provisions described under items 1 and 2 above. Please note that the cancellation can only be based on the alteration in relation to extension of the cover. The right of cancellation period of 14 days will be calculated as follows: For instance, if you purchase your insurance on Monday the 1st and receive the information mentioned on Wednesday the 3rd, the right of cancellation period will expire on (and include) Wednesday the 17th. Where the right of cancellation period expires on a public holiday, Saturday, Constitution Day, Christmas Eve or 31 December, the right of cancellation period will expire on the following weekday. How to exercise your right of cancellation Before expiry of the right of cancellation period, you must inform Tryg that you want to exercise your right of cancellation. You may do this either by letter or e-mail. If you want proof that you have informed Tryg of your intention to exercise your right of cancellation within the time-limit, you can send a letter by registered mail and keep the certificate of posting. The information must be sent to: Tryg Klausdalsbrovej 601 DK-2750 Ballerup E-mail: [email protected] If you want to exercise your right of cancellation If you want to exercise your right of cancellation, the purchase will be cancelled and you will not be liable to pay for the insurance. This also means that in case of damage during the period from purchase of the insurance and until cancellation of the insurance, such damage will not be covered under the insurance. Where you have purchased the insurance in connection with distance selling, you may withdraw from the purchase if you have not received the relevant information from Tryg. The purchase will be cancelled as from the time when you send Tryg a letter or an e-mail informing Tryg of the cancellation. Please note that you must pay for the insurance until you withdraw from the purchase, however, excluding for the 14 days which constitute the ordinary right of cancellation period. Tryg will calculate the price relative to the period of time during which you have been insured and based on the agreement made on purchase of the insurance.

Guidance on the insurance terms and conditions The Annual Travel Insurance covers a number of the incidents you may encounter during your trip, however, the terms and conditions stipulate both exclusions and limits.

Contents and structure of the insurance The insurance is made up by a basic insurance and some optional coverages, if selected.

In the terms and conditions, we have aimed at clarifying what is covered and what is not covered. A number of words/expressions have been written in bold followed by an asterisk* which means that the words/expressions have been defined.

Each cover is divided into: • The insurance covers • The insurance does not cover • Compensation/Indemnity The coverages you have selected appear from the policy. It is important that you check your policy to ensure that you have all the coverages you have requested.

We recommend that you read the insurance terms and conditions before you may need to report a claim under the insurance. If you have any questions regarding the insurance, you are always welcome to contact us.

If you need to report a claim under the insurance The insurance terms and conditions have a section on what to do if you need to report a claim under your insurance. Therefore, it is a good idea to bring the insurance terms and conditions along with you on your trip.
