1. Application descriptions. Track Your Child is software for tracking and tracing the route of the child or other person. Just install the program on your mobile device with GPS and the ability to send data eg WLAN, HSDPA, EDGE, etc. There is no need to install any additional software to support GPS service or data transmission. Application Track Your Child for the moment can be installed on an Android device (tested on version 1.5, 2.2, 2.3.3, 4.0) and Windows Mobile 6.x. Please note that support for GPS and data transmission through the mobile devices will run out of battery faster. The Application itself connects to the GPS and takes a sample every 20 sec. That’s why the location accuracy is equal to the distance it is possible to be traveled within 20 seconds (depending on the speed of movement can vary), plus the accuracy of determining location. The pedestrian it is about 25m (negligible value) for the driver (50 km/h) it is approximately 250m. Every 2 minutes a sample of the latest GPS is saved to a file / database. After an adjustable time (default 15min), all samples from the file / database are sent to the server and from that time can be displayed on the web site www.TrackYouChild.pl Application screen is maximally simplified. It has the "Start", “Map” and "Options". After pressing "Start" buttons appear "Upload Now", “Map” and "End". The application shows the time when the last sample was taken from the GPS, or when you press the "Send Now" – when the sample was sent to the server. The Application has the ability to work in the "background", it give the possibility to work with another programs (eg, answer the phone, write text messages, or surf the Internet)

2. Installation To install Application it should be first download from Play Google. You can also download it from the www.TrackYourChild.pl (ND.apk file) or send to your e-mail on mobile device. The first way to install - send mail to mobile device: • • • • • • • •

Log in to the Application on web page Click "Download Application" In the window (in the middle) in Android part replace the text " Enter mail and press Send" by e-mail address to which you want to send a file Press the "Send Application on mail" Receive mail on your mobile device Click on the attachment (Install) Continue with wizard Configure the Application according to the instructions below

Another way to install - download file from the web: • • • • • • •

On your phone go to www.TrackYourChild.pl Log in to the Application on web page Click "Download Application" In the window (in the middle) in Android part click "Download file" After downloading click Open / Install Continue with wizard Configure the Application according to the instructions below

After opening the file, the installer will inform again that the Application on mobile device will: • • • •

Locate Your position – GPS Use memory – save configuration files in the mobile device Use network connection - sends data to the server Use phone calls – wrong name. It means that the Application uses the information about rebooting the phone (to automatically launch the application - the option to set up) and information about battery Use system tools - determining location of the device by logging in to a specific Telco cell.

When you press the Install - Application will be installed and can be run by first time (Figure 1).

"Use wireless networks" / "Use Wi-Fi" (differently in different versions of Android) - for the location of the mobile network (Telco) "Use GPS satellites" - for the location of the GPS

When any of these options is not selected after pressing the "Start" (Figure 1) it will be showed "Your GPS (Use GPS satellites) or TELCO (Use wireless network) seems to be disabled, do you want to enable it? (Figure 2)

Both the location and name of the option in Android may vary depending on the version. The above screen (Figure 3) reflects the Android 3.3. During Application update when jumping several versions such as replacement of the Application version 1.0 by version 3.0 (excluding 1.1.1, 1.1.2, etc.) it may happen that a system error occurs. Full uninstall should be done then and after that start install the new version (plus re-set the Options).

3. Options To enter the "Options" on the first screen (Figure 1), press the appropriate button, or press “Menu” button in your mobile devices. It will appear the screen (Figure 4). This is the view that groups the various options.

After pressing the "Application manual in PDF on the www.TrackYourChild.pl" (Figure 4) (5) You will be redirected to a manual directly on the website. A device that is running the application must be able (additional software) to read PDF files. Otherwise the manual will not be opened.

Description of the Application options:

3.1.

Login and password

Make sure we set the username (Figure 5) (1) and password (Figure 5) (2). The values to be entered here are the same that were given on the Website (www.TrackYourChild.pl) in the "Register". After typing, press the button "Check username and password" (Figure 5) (3). In an Application where indicated (Figure 5) (4) shows, for example: •

Username and password correct - at this point, data will be saved to files (encrypted password) and will be remembered by the Application. You do not need to repeat every time!

•

Incorrect Username, Password or account is inactive. Check your account at www.TrackYourChild.pl. This message may also appear if the account has not been activated by the service Track Your Child.

•

Failed to send data to server - Error connecting to the Internet. Please check if your configuration is correct and if your phone has the ability to send data (e.g., including a web browser and entering into any web page)

To quickly clear the field "Enter login" (Figure 5) (1) or "Enter Password" (Figure 5) (6) just tap twice.

3.2.

Sending data to server

In "How often send to server" (Figure 7) (1) and (Figure 9) (1) it is possible to set the time interval after which downloaded and stored data will be sent to the server (all at once). The default is 15 minutes, a minimum 5 minutes and a maximum 60 min. The more often data is sent to the server, the faster it is possible to check on the web (www.TrackYourChild.pl) where our child is. Unfortunately, the transmission cost may be higher and battery consumption is faster. On the other hand, the cheapest option 60min means that in the worst case, after 60 minutes, we'll find out where (during the 1 h) our child was (all items). Samples from the GPS to the file are saved every 2 minutes. However the GPS is updated every 20 seconds. This means that every 2 minutes for a file is saved a value where our child was at least 19 sec before. This gives position accuracy for pedestrian movement around 25m (negligible value) for the drive (50km / h) approximately 250m plus the accuracy of the position. Update GPS every 20 sec was set in Apps permanently as the best consensus between battery consumption and the location accuracy. With default settings transfer of data, associated with sending samples about location, during 10 hours is about 0.1 to 0.3 Mb (total: send and receive).

3.3.

Reset distance every day?

Option „Reset distance every day” (Figure 7) (2) allows us to start counting the distance traveled from 0 each day.

3.4.

Run when you turn on the phone

Enable "Run when you turn on the phone" (Figure 7) (3) - the application will automatically starts (Figure 7) immediately after turn on the phone. In conjunction with the "Options and Finish the program should be password protected" (Figure 7) (4) the application can be set to always on, and impossible (or at least difficult) for finish for our child.

3.5.

Options and Finish the program should be password protected?

Enable „Options and Finish the program should be password protected?” (Figure 7) (4) means that every time we want to go to "Options" (point Błąd! Nie można odnaleźć źródła odwołania., Figure 3) or “Finish” (point 6), (Figure 16) (3) we will have to enter login and password (same as in point 3.1). In conjunction with the „Run when you turn on the phone” (Figure 7) (3) the application can be set to always on, and impossible (or at least difficult) for finish for our child.

3.6.

When Application should be active

In this option you can set the time of Application activity. In the “from” (Figure 7) (5) is set when the Application start collecting samples. For the value “8” - The Application starts from 8.oo am. In the "to" (Figure 7) (6) is set the time when Application stop collecting samples. For the value “5 pm” – stop collecting samples will take place at 16.59. Information about working hours and if Application is activated is displayed on the main screen (Figure 16) (1). Out of hours activity Application does not collect samples - not connected to a telecommunications network or GPS. The Application stays in the background. On the main screen (Figure 16) (1) shows "Application is INACTIVE. Operates from: xx.00 to yy.00" It is possible to set the Application to work all the time. It should be chosen in “from” (Figure 7) (5) and "to" (Figure 7) (6) the same value.

3.7.

Registering a new user

To create a new user (Figure 6) indicated fields must be filled. The fields marked with * are required. Without them the Application fails to complete the registration. Before pressing the button "Register" you should check the "I accept the Terms" - this is equivalent to reading the Terms and acceptance them (available on www.TrackYourChild.pl) In the case of incorrect password repetitions or enter login, which is already in the system Application displays an appropriate message. After proper registration, it will be created a new account. Together with the creation account it is added to the database one example of a sample. It allows login to the web pages and seeing how map will be looks like.

3.8.

Show users, who can track YOUR position.

After press „Show users, who can track YOUR position” (Figure 8) (1), it will be displayed all the login names of users who can track Your position (Figure 10) (1). To close the window press "Cancel". User’s data are collected from the server. Display windows may take a while (time depends on the speed of Internet connection). Number of displayed users cannot be greater than 20. Adding a new user can be performed in accordance with point Błąd! Nie można odnaleźć źródła odwołania.

3.9.

Delete user, who can track YOUR position.

After press „Delete user, who can track YOUR position.” (Figure 8) (2), it will be displayed all the login names of users who can track Your position (Figure 11) (1). To delete a user, select a login and press the "Delete user". To close the window press "Cancel". User’s data are collected from the server. Display windows may take a while (time depends on the speed of Internet connection). Number of displayed users cannot be greater than 20.

3.10.

Add a person, who will be able to track YOUR position

Option „Enter LOGIN person, who will be able to track YOUR position” (Figure 8) (3) and (Figure 12) (1). In the window (Figure 12) (2) enter the Login of the person who will be able to track Your last position, and press "Add the person". On this person’s device, on the map should appear icon with Your login. Added person must already have an account in Track Your Chile. If the person has been previously granted privileges such as those in Options on page www.TrachYourChild.pl, Application displays the appropriate message. Any information about the process is displayed in the window (Figure 12) (3).

3.11.

Set map as view from satellites

After selecting option „ Set map as view from satellites” (Figure 8) (5) map will be images from the satellite (Figure 13). After deselect the option map will back to standard view (Figure 14).

3.12.

Change picture button on the map

After pressing the icon symbolizing the person (Figure 8) (6) will appear the option: "Take a picture" "Delete a picture", "Cancel" (Figure 15). We propose to take a picture person. Deleting an image will restore the original icon.

4. Running the Application To launch Application press "Start" (Figure 1). It will appear new buttons "Send Now" (Figure 16) (2) and "Finish" (Figure 16) (3) This is equivalent to initiating the collection of samples from the GPS or Telco (mobile) to the file and after a specified time sending them to the server (point 3.2).

Expanding the notification bar and pressing on Track Your Child (Figure 18) (1) restore the Applications to the first screen (Figure 16, Figure 19, Figure 21). This allows us to hide the Application in the "background" and work with another (such as answering phone, typing a text message or browsing the Internet)

The moment we want to run the Application, not yet set in the "Options" username/login and password (point 3.1), the Application will automatically open the Options tab (Figure 5)

4.1.

The standard message from the GPS

If the messages are available from the GPS (device "see" the right amount of satellites), every 20 sec the Application retrieves data. Time of the last sample is shown in the Application (Figure 19) (1). The data every time, set in Options (point Błąd! Nie można odnaleźć źródła odwołania.) are sent to the server. On the Website www.TrackYourChild.pl in the "Status" will be entered "Data from the GPS every 2 minutes."

4.2.

Outdated data from the GPS

When the Application gets at least one valid sample from the GPS (Figure 19) (1), and since then a device cannot "see" the satellites, at least the time defined in the "How often send to server" (pkt.3.2 ), the Application send to the server only one - last sample with a date at the moment of sending. Additionally, on the website www.TrackYourChild.pl in the "Status" will be entered "Can not see the GPS satellites." At this point, the Application will display (Figure 20) (1) The Application sends then only one sample in the period set in the „How often send to server"

4.3.

Data from Telco (mobile)

If, for at least 14 min, there is no new GPS data, the Application turn off the GPS and turn on location based on mobile phone (connected to specified Telco cells). This location is much less accurate (from 500m to 5000m). The Application on the screen displays the message: "Data from Telco. Last sample sent at: 01-01-2011 11:00:11 p.m. "(Figure 20) (1). On the Website www.TrackYourChild.pl in the "Status" will be entered „Can not see the GPS satellites" Points gained by the Telco location (due to low accurate) on the Site are not taken into account when drawing the routes. It can be viewed only by press button "Last sample" Changing the Telco cell to which the device is logged on, change Wi-Fi or increase the signal level by about 25% is regarded as a significant displacement of the tracked child. The Application turns on locating by GPS again. From this time the Application will be searching GPS satellites by 5 min. If the GPS does not obtain actual samples from the satellites repeat the cycle (turn off GPS, turn on Telco). This GPS-Telco-GPS-… switch was introduced to save the battery. The long search for the satellite by the GPS has a great influence on the discharge of the battery.

4.4.

Send now

Each time, during the Application is up and running we can press the "Send Now" (Figure 16) (2). This will send to the server a sample from last known location. Right away you can display it on the website www.TrackYouChild.pl When you set the option to send to the server e.g. every 60 min (point Błąd! Nie można odnaleźć źródła odwołania.) and the next packet will be sent for e.g. 30 min, and we now would like to show that we are in a particular location, press the "Send Now" After correct sending the information on the screen appears message (Figure 21) (1) with a date when the sample was taken. The Website www.TrackYourChild.pl in the "Status" will be entered "Data from the Telco on demand" or "The data from the GPS on demand."

4.5.

Too old data (older than 30 min)

When samples from the GPS or Telco are outdated (older than 30 min) data from the Application will not be sent to the server. On the screen appears message (Figure 22) (1) with date of the last available sample for the active type of positioning. This situation can occur when the Application switched to GPS-> Telco or Telco-> GPS and the sample has not yet been received.

5. Open the Map

To open the Map presses the Map button. This button is located both on the initial screen (Figure 1) - at the moment application is not fully operational and the samples are not collected. Open the Map is also possible after starting sample collection (Figure 16) (4). It should be noted that the possibility of the Application on the mobile device are much smaller relative to the possibility of web site www.TrackYourChild.pl (all described in the document: http://www.TrackYourChild.pl/pliki/Instrukcja_do_STRONY.pdf). On the website you can except the last sample, track the entire route of a Child movement, show the route of an earlier day, hour and is presented much greater amount of information (such as movement speed) and much more.

On the Map in the mobile (Figure 23) (1) there are icons representing people whose last position, we can check. Under each icon is a login of a person's username. Logins are sorted in order of addition of powers. Pressing the icon will display the last known position of that person. Information on what a person is shown the position is under the map (Figure 23) (4). Last known position is represented by a pin (Figure 23) (3) under which the data is written - when the last sample comes. The scale of the Maps can be freely changed. The pin on the Map is surrounded by a green circle with a radius corresponding to the accuracy of GPS or TELCO location. This circle can be very small for the location from the GPS (e.g. 4m) or large for the TELCO location (e.g. 1000m)

Map and information about last location are downloaded through an network connection, so when you press a person it can take a while when the Map is displayed. Size of the map with the image from the satellite is much larger than the size of the standard maps. Downloading maps may take a while, depending on connection speed. A map images are caches for some time in the Application and are not re-downloaded every time. Icon of "+" is for information only, after it is pressed you get a message on how you can add another person to keep track of positions. To another person appear on the Map (in our device), it needs to add us into its account (in the Application (Figure 12) - point Błąd! Nie zdefiniowano zakładki. or in options on web site www.TrackYourChild.pl) After unselect "Set map as view from satellites" in the "Map options" (Figure 8) (4), and pressind any icon again new map appears. The person will be presented in a standard view (Figur 24)

After pressing the pin it will appear information about that given point (Figure 25): The user name, the date sample came, the time of the application up and running, accuracy, method of sample collection.

6. Finish the Application To finish the Application press the "Finish" (Figure 16) (3). Where the Application runs in the background (Figure 17 and Figure 18) it should be first restored (Figure 18) (1), and then press the "Finish". Finish the Application does not delete (loss) the samples still not sended. These samples will be sent when the Application will be start again
