John is President of Team One Network, LLC a company established to test, evaluate, train and market various manufacturers' products to the Law Enforcement community as related to officer survival. An internationally respected authority on tactical training for Police and Special operations. John spent 15 years with Heckler & Koch, Inc., ultimately rising to the position of Vice President of Sales and International Training. John led a team of instructors that pioneered the integration of formalized training doctrine with practical field experience. His cutting edge, realistic tactical training courses have become an industry standard. John was a Lieutenant with the DOD Police, where he served as a special reaction team leader. He is Vice President of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) a member of the Policeone.com Advisory Board and a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET) Firearms Committee.

Alfred J. Baker

David Brancato

Alfred J. Baker is the President of Baker Batshields, Inc. and the inventor of the US Patented "Batshield", a ballistic shield for long gun deployment. He is a former Training Manager for the US Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — Armor and Ballistic Shield Training Program Manager, Special Operations Training Branch. Al is the former Director of Training for Armor Holdings, Inc. International, specializing in ballistic shields. He has twenty five years experience in hostage-barricade situations and managing violent, emotionally disturbed persons. He founded tactical robotics and is an authority on ballistic protection applications from vests to rifle-threat barriers. Al commanded NYPD-ESU City-wide Operations, Specialized Training School. He co-founded the Emergency Psychological Technician's Certification Course at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is on the NY State Expert Training Committee, and the US Attorney General's Less Lethal Conference. Al is the author of Police Robots and numerous professional periodicals. Al has a B.S. degree in Behavioral Science from NY Institute of Technology - Summa Cum Laude.

Dave has served as a member of the Clifton New Jersey Police Department for the past 25 years. He has been assigned to the Tactical Response Team for the past 20 years. Dave is currently a team leader and lead firearms/tactics instructor. He has trained law enforcement personnel in weapons and tactical techniques throughout the country. Dave was one of the original adjunct instructors with Heckler & Koch's International Training Division from 1990 until 2002.

Michael P. Beckley Michael (ret.) served with the Nassau County Police Department on Long Island, New York from 1958 to 1998. While there, he served as deputy and commanding officer of the Firearms Training Unit. Mike developed a new and progressive tactical firearms program known as the “Decision Course”, which he taught to thousands of officers within his department and outside including IALEFI and NRA. In 1981 Mike also helped found the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) and served as president of IALEFI from 1991 to 2000. He sits on the NRA Law Enforcement Assistance Committee and is a competitive pistol shooter.

Robert D. Bossey Bob retired in 1996 after 25 years of law enforcement service with his most current assignment as a Major and Assistant Director of New Hampshire State's Police Academy. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the state's firearms certification and training courses, and was responsible for the certification and training processes for all state level instructors. He is a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and has received specialized training in firearms and the use-of-force through numerous nationally recognized training institutions and has taught on a state, national, and international levels throughout his career. For the past fifteen years, he has served as the Executive Director of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI).

Mike Boyle Mike has over 20 years experience as a firearms and use of force instructor. He currently serves as a Captain with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, Bureau of Law Enforcement and is responsible for all aspects of basic and in-service training for his agency. In addition to his agency responsibilities, he is also a police academy assistant director, rangemaster, and instructor. Mike is on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) and has been the author of numerous articles on police equipment, tactics, and training. He has been an instructor of the Streamlight Academy since 2001.

John J. Burdock A former Marine Corps Scout Sniper and 17 year Law Enforcement veteren. John currently serves for the Indian River County Sheriffs Office, Vero Beach. Florida. John is a SWAT team leader and 16 year veteren of his depeartments SWAT team. John has been a contarct trainer for Armor Holdings Inc since 1996 and specializes in Ballistic Shield training. John has instructed cutting edge Ballistic Shield courses to all levels of Law Enforcement and Military personnel worldwide. John is also a certified instructor in firearms, defensive tactics and CQB. John holds a B.S. from Barry University in Public Administration - Cum Laude.

Forrest “Skip” W. Carroll III Skip is president of F.W. Carroll & Associates, an international mobile training company. He is currently responsible for designing and providing specialized driving, VIP protection, and security training programs for corporations, government, law enforcement, and military agencies operating in high-risk areas of the world. Skip has over 12 years of international experience providing personal protection services for foreign royalty and dignitaries, Fortune 500 executives, VIP's and their families. He has conducted mobile training programs on three continents, training people from twenty different countries. He holds the Master Pistol Instructor certification from HK.

Michael Centafanti 28 + years with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He spent 11 1/2 years assigned to the SWAT team, Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), where he was part of the training cadre and unit armorer. Trained and trained with numerous Military and Law Enforcement personnel. He has been assigned to the Department'sTraining Unit for the past 8 years, of which the last 4 1/2 years has been as the Department armorer. He is a Sage Master Instructor.

Dave Coffey, JD Dave is a professor of Criminal Justice and is department head of Police Science at Thomas Nelson Community College in Virginia. He is an Instructor at the Allied Armed Force Staff College and Christopher Newport University. He has more than 20 years of experience in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, serving as both a Police Officer and as Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. He has worked extensively as a consultant to State and Local Law Enforcement agencies on use of force training, civil liability, departmental policies and procedures, gangs, highrisk search warrants and tactical operations. Dave is also author of several books on these topics.

Bill “Cookie” Cooke Bill is an Army Infantry veteran and is retired from the Clifton, New Jersey Police Department after serving 30 years. Bill worked four years in the patrol division, 11 years in the Tactical Street Crime unit, three years in the Motorcycle Traffic Unit, and 12 years as a detective. The last 15 years of his service he worked on the Tactical Response Team where he participated in hostage rescue high-risk warrant services and barricade subject arrests. He has also been an adjunct instructor for Heckler & Koch since 1990..

Preston K. Covey

Benjamin “Ben” W. Fravel

Preston K. Covey - BA (Psychology) - Ph.D. (Philosophy) from Stanford University, is Director of the Center for the Advancement of Applied Ethics at Carnegie Mellon University, where he teaches courses in ethics, public policy, and conflict management as well as issues of criminal justice and violence in American society. He serves as a sworn Deputy detailed to the Firearms Training Staff of the Sheriffs Reserve of Allegheny County, PA. He is editor and co-principal author of IALEFI's Standards and Practices Reference Guide for Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors since 1991 and a member of ASLET (American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers) since 1990. Preston's training focuses on officer survival and his research focuses on Law and Ethics of the use of deadly force from the perspective of tactical realities rather than from a theoretic perspective.

Ben is a retired First Sergeant with the Prince William County, VA Police Department and a retired Sergeant Major (Reserve) with the Army Special Forces. He served 26 years as a sniper team leader. He has instructed for several different organizations on a number of law enforcement, security, and executive protections subjects. Sniper operations, SWAT operations, surveillance photography, security operations, and intelligence collection are some of the subjects he instructs. He is on the Advisory Board for the American Sniper Association.

Michael J. Downey II Mike is a USAF Security Forces member and currently assigned to the Pentagon in Washington D.C. He serves as the Personal Security Officer for a Senior Military Official. In his 16 years of experience he has performed protective service missions, law enforcement duties, flight line security, combat arms training and has served as an emergency services team member. He was the Chief of the Firearms and Tactics Unit for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). Mike is a certified instructor in pistol, shotgun, rifle, machine gun, submachine gun, foreign military weapons, defensive tactics, antiterrorism driving, use of force, baton, and chemical munitions. He has trained over 100,000 military and international students, federal, state, and local law enforcement officers throughout the world. He is a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI) and is the Military Representative for the American Society for Law Enforcement Training (ASLET).

Michael Foreman Michael Foreman is a 29-year law enforcement veteran. He presently is assigned as the Support Services Division Chief and serves as the High Risk Incident Commander for the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Assignments have included, patrol, K-9, vice, narcotics, criminal investigations, drug interdiction, fugitive unit, training, and gang unit. He served eighteen years in SWAT, holding several positions including that of SWAT Commander. Foreman has lectured throughout the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Europe and South America. Foreman is a certified less-lethal instructor with Defense Technology/Federal Laboratories and Sage International. Additionally, Foreman serves as a Director for the National Tactical Officers Association. He holds a degree in criminal justice and is a graduate of Florida's Senior Leadership Program through Florida State University. He has been recognized as an expert witness on the use of special weapons and tactics in federal court.

Garry A. Forman Garry is the Director of Training of SSI Special Operations Group - International Training Division, a Division of Snowmobile Safety Institute. He has over 20 years of law enforcement and training experience with an extensive background as a Snowmobile and ATV Special Operations Team Commander, Senior Police Snowmobile and ATV Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. He has over 35 years experience in operating snowmobiles, ATV's, motorcycles and off-road vehicles. He has trained thousands of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers and emergency service providers. He is a Tactical Mobility Operations advisor and adjunct instructor with Heckler & Koch's International Training Division since 1995.

Lou Ann Hamblin Lou Ann has been in law enforcement since 1990 and currently works for the patrol division of the Van Buren Township Police Department, Michigan. She has experience in undercover narcotics and prostitution operations including a temporary assignment with a DEA Task Force. Lou Ann is a certified defensive tactics instructor in a variety of disciplines. She instructs locally and nationally in the areas of officer survival, firearms and tactics to include presentations at ASLET, IALEFI and IPMBA. Lou Ann has written articles published in the area of firearms training that have appeared in police publications including; Law and Order, The Firearms Instructor and Police Marksman. She is a consultant and presenter with Calibre Press and PoliceOne.Com. She holds a BA degree in Criminal Justice Administration and MA in Human Performance Technology and Instructional Design from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Edward S. Janke Ed is the Associate Dean of Public Safety with the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He has over 24 years of law enforcement service. Ed has held management positions and has 20 years of tactical experience, serving as an operator, team leader and commander. He retired from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department (WI) as the Chief Deputy. He holds an M.S. in Leadership and Organizational Design and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Ed has over 10 years of experience with protective services including international operations. He instructs weapons, physical and vehicle tactics. He also instructs several terrorism related topics.

Mike Johnson Mike has 29 years Law Enforcement experience. Mike has worked at several municipal departments in Palm Beach County before joining The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. During his career Mike has worked as a Communication officer, Crime scene Investigator, Patrol Officer, Detective and Patrol Sergeant. Mike has also served on many specialized units including, Dive Rescue unit, Drug enforcement unit, Street Crime suppression unit and Special Response team. Mike while assigned to the Department's Special Response Team held positions as Entry Team Member, Scout Sniper, Team Leader and Team Commander. Since joining the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office he has served in the Patrol Division as a Deputy Sheriff and Field Training Officer. He is currently assigned to the Training Bureau as Instructor and Range Manager. Mike holds instructor certifications in all the High Liability areas.

Steve Johnson

Jason Mann

Steve is a 30-year veteran of the North Carolina Department of Justice where he currently serves as the Senior Firearms Instructor for the North Carolina Justice Academy. He is responsible for the training and certification of all law enforcement firearm instructors; all concealed carry handgun instructors, and all armed security firearms instructors. He has attended most major firearms manufacturer armorer courses and coordinates training programs such as Sniper, Submachine Gun and teaches basic SWAT courses. Steve currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NC Law Enforcement Officers Association and is the President of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI).

A former Marine Corps Scout-Sniper, Jason is a graduate of the USMC scout-sniper school and the USMC scout-sniper advanced course at Quantico. He currently is the lead weapons instructor and range master for the Santa Monica, CA Police Department. Prior to this assignment, Jason was a deputy sheriff for the County of Los Angeles for 10 years, where he received the Medal for Bravery. Jason has instructed thousands of law enforcement and military personnel worldwide.

Gary's name has become synonymous with the development of safe but realistic, intense, dynamic simulation training. His programs are an officer survival program in action. Gary is the developer of the Active Countermeasures System of Unarmed Blocking and Striking Techniques that is the cornerstone of High Level Control Tactics. He has developed programs for police, corrections, mental health, security, and military personnel. His team tactics training for SWAT, CERT, and Crowd Management Teams are among the best in the world. His instructor training programs stress adult learning, sub-skill development, guided discovery, decision-making simulation scenarios, and positive group debriefing techniques.

Ron McCarthy is an owner of R.M. McCarthy & Associates, a training and consulting resource for law enforcement. Ron served as a Los Angeles police officer for twenty four years. He was assigned to the Department's Tactical Unit, Metro Division for twenty years and retired from Special Weapons and Tactics as the senior supervisor and assistant commander in 1984. Ron was the Chief of Tactical Operations for the U.S. Department of Energy and the Director of the Deadly Force Training Grants for the U.S. Department of Justice and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and served as Manager of IACP's Center for Advanced Police Studies. Ron is qualified in federal and state courts as an expert witness in police tactics, field operations, SWAT, use of force, use of deadly force, training, critical incident management, and hostage incidents. He is also co-author of the book, The Management of Police Specialized Tactical Units, published by Charles C. Thomas, Ltd.

Marty LaBrusciano

Thomas McElroy

Marty is a veteran of 28 years of law enforcement special operations and management. LaBrusciano has served in a wide variety of special operations, specializing in bomb disposal, explosive breaching and Special Weapons and Tactics. Additionally, he has held a wide array of management assignments. LaBrusciano spent 25 years at the Seminole County Sheriff's Office (Florida) where he retired as a Deputy Director of Metropolitan Operations. After his retirement, Marty served as the Police Chief of Casselberry, Florida for three years. A Navy veteran, a graduate of the FBI National Academy and Law Enforcement Executive Institute, in addition to a undergraduate degree in psychology, LaBrusciano has, and continues to instruct a wide range of domestic and foreign law enforcement and military personnel.

Tom has 21 years of Law Enforcement experience. Tom started his career in 1984 with the Florida Marine Patrol, were he worked 2 years. In 1986 he joined the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office. There he worked as a street patrol officer for 4 years. He has actively been working in the Sheriffs Marine Enforcement Unit for the past 15 years. He is a Dive Team leader for the underwater recovery unit, and a former Marine k-9 handler. He established the current waterborne firearms course and instructs both his marine deputies along with State and local officers.

Gary Klugiewicz

Norm Lattig Norm is a Sergeant with the Rockaway Borough Police Department in New Jersey and has 23 years of law enforcement experience, with 20 years as a firearm instructor. He is head of firearm instruction at the department and teaches firearms to basic recruits at the Police Academy. Norm is also a submachine gun and assault rifle instructor. He is involved in train-the-trainer course on terrorism with the joint terrorism task force in New Jersey.

Colonel Robert “Coach” Lindsey Colonel Robert Lindsey, "Coach" Coach recently retired from Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in New Orleans, Louisiana where he was Director of Security for the Jefferson Parish President's Office, police survival instructor, range master, director of the training academy, and commander of the communications center. A graduate of Loyola University and the FBI Academy in sociology and psychology, he has qualified and testified as an expert witness and is a published author.

Gary J. Monreal Gary J. Monreal has over sixteen years of law enforcement experience in corrections, patrol, SWAT, and training. As a patrolman with the City of New Berlin, WI Police Department, his duties also include SWAT Team Leader, specializing in explosive entry. Gary is an instructor-trainer and currently teaches chemical munitions, defensive tactics, firearms, vehicle contacts, high-level simulations, submachine gun and SWAT.

Stu Nakamura Stu is an instructor with 27 years experience who retired after a 25 year career with the Berkeley, CA Police Department where he was the lead tactical instructor and director of the Firearms Training Unit. He was a member of the department's tactical unit for 22 years and was awarded the Medal of Valor for his participation in the 1990 rescue of 33 people held hostage. The FBI and the law enforcement standards and training commissions of California (POST) and Oregon (DPSST) has certified Stu as an instructor in a number of subject areas including firearms, special weapons team operations and hostage negotiations. He also holds instructor certifications from Glock, Heckler & Koch, Sig Arms, and Smith & Wesson. Stu has conducted training for both domestic and foreign law enforcement and military personnel and currently is a member of the training staff at the Public Safety Training Center in Portland, OR.

Captain Eckhard “Ecko” Niebergall

Don “Donnie” Pierson

Ecko has 28 years experience with the Hesse State Police (Germany) where he was responsible for the development and improvement of state firearms training programs, defensive tactics programs and the implementation of Interact DefenceTraining of which he is the co-developer. He has served 20 years with the Frankfurt Police Department, Special Command unit, with special Anti-Drug operations, execution of warrants and executive protection. For the past 18 years he has become a certified active firearms instructor both nationally and internationally, instructor for defensive tactics, CQB, and executive protection. He is President of the Police Trainers of Germany and a consultant of European Union law enforcement training programs.

Donnie has 20 years of law enforcement experience with the Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department. Currently serving as a member of the tactical section, he is responsible for team training with the MP5, G36 rifle, and breaching. He is also a firearms and driver training instructor with the Fairfax County Police Academy.

Mel Parry Mel is the Operations Director for Tower Training Associates, a part of Resolution Security of London and is specifically responsible for operations and training in the fields of CT, VIP Protection, Security Driving and Security Awareness Training. Prior to joining Tower Training, he was the Operations Director for Sigma Projects Limited and served in the British Army with the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment. On leaving the Army in 1989, he was employed in the Defense Industry as a consultant in overseas training tasks and equipment development for Doughty Armour-shield and Royal Ordnance. He served with the British Army for a total of 31 years. He works with Simunition of Canada and Aim Point of Sweden as a consultant trainer..

Andrew “Skip” J. Pavlischak Skip retired from the Spokane Police department after 27 years of service. A Marine Corps Vietnam veteran, Skip has 26 years experience as a SWAT team member, team leader, and commander in a full-time position. He is a certified firearms, distraction device, and chemical agent instructor. Skip is also a Master Sub Gun and Pistol Instructor. He assisted in the formation of the Washington State Tactical Officers Association and is a past president. Skip was also the lead instructor for basic and advanced SWAT training for the Washington State Training commission and worked as a Gang Unit Leader and in the Special Investigations Narcotics Unit. He recently attended a course at New Mexico Tech for certification for instructing in Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings through the U.S. Department of Justice.

Vincent Pestilli Vince is President and CEO of Pestilli and Associates. He has represented many firearms manufacturers including Benelli, Bushmaster, Franchi, Stoeger and HK. He has recently retired as a Master Sergeant from the Massachusetts National Guard with over 40 years of combined service in the U.S. Army and MA National Guard 26th Infantry Division. His military assignments have included; Unit Marksmanship Program Coordinator for the MA Army National Guard, Soviet Military Weapons Instructor, Foreign Military Weapons Instructor, Instructor for U.S. Army Anti-Terrorism School and NCOIC for Small Arms Training Unit, MA Army National Guard.

Jim Phillips Jim is currently a Patrol Division Commander at the Camden Police Department in New Jersey. He has been a street officer for 30 years. For 26 years he was on the Tactical Force, holding positions as operator, supervisor and commander of the SWAT team. He is widely published in the field of clandestine and exotic weaponry and an expert witness on police use-of-force. Jim is a certified instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, impact weapons and crowd control tactics.

Arie Ponsen Arie Ponsen is a police veteran for over 29 years. His duties have included patrol officer, highway patrol, riot control unit and Firearms and Special Tactics Training. Since 1989 he has been a full time Senior Firearms and Special Tactics Instructor for the Rotterdam Police Department in the Netherlands, where he is responsible for Research and Development. He developed the Motor Officer Safety Training and introduced OC-spray, soft body armor and a new duty holster to the Dutch police forces. He has also recently been assigned to the national training center's expert team to develop the new Firearms and Special Tactics Instructor Course for the Netherlands.

O. Frank Repass O. Frank Repass is a nationally recognized firearms expert and court certified expert. Frank served as the Orlando Police Department Range Master for 21 years. He was selected FOP 1999 Officer of the Year. Frank served for 21 years on the Orlando Police Department SWAT Team where he performed more than 500 operations. He was the first Chairman of the Competition Committee for the Annual SWAT Round Up. He retired from active duty after 25 years of distinguished service. He currently teaches local, state and federal law enforcement in the areas of firearms operations, tactical firearms and SWAT. He has been an IALEFI member since 1984 and has served on the board of directors since 1986. Frank is the 1st Vice President of IALEFI and is Chairman of the ATC Program. He serves as a Sports Director of the Florida Law Enforcement Games and coordinates the FLEG's practical handgun, practical shotgun and the three-gun match. He is Director of Training for the Streamlight Academy.

Randall Revling Randy Revling is the Coordinator of the Law Enforcement Academy and The Center for Instructor Development for the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, WI. He is a retired Captain and a 28-year veteran of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in Green Bay, WI where he served as Captain and Director of the Professional Standards and Training Division. Randy also served as Captain – Patrol Division Director, and as Lieutenant in Patrol, assigned as Shift Commander. Also, he was the Team Leader of the Emergency Response Unit (S.W.A.T.), Department Training Sergeant and Patrol Officer assigned to Patrol and Jail.

Joseph Riedy Joe has been a member of the Bethlehem, PA Police Department for 15 years. He has worked Patrol, Special Operations, and Vice, and is currently assigned as a Sergeant in the Community Services/Training Division. Joe provides firearms, less-lethal, chemical munitions, defensive tactics and tactical training for the department. Joe has been a member of the department's Emergency Response Team since 1991 and is a team leader and supervisor.

Ray R. Ruby Jr.

Brad Smith

Ray has 21 years experience in law enforcement and is currently the training coordinator for the Palm Beach County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office fulltime SWAT Team. During his 21 years, Ray has worked assignments in patrol, SWAT, FTO, K-9, bike patrol and trainer in SWAT, K-9 and bike patrol. Ray is a tactical weapons instructor, national K-9 and police bicycle instructor. Ray instructs law enforcement, civilian and military in SWAT tactics, bicycle patrol, K-9 deployment and is an adjunct police academy officer survival instructor. Ray holds instructor certifications in all high liability areas.

Brad has been a police officer since 1981 and a K-9 handler for the West Covina Police Department, CA for the last 19 years. Brad is a Canine Chairperson for N.T.O.A. and Subject matter Expert on K-9 SWAT deployment for the California Association of Tactical Officers. He has instructed thousands of canine handlers and SWAT team members in the US, Canada and Brazil and is a contributing editor for Police K-9 magazine. He has published several articles for a wide variety of publications on K-9 SWAT Deployment, legal issues and training. He designed and implemented the first and only P.O.S.T. certified K-9 School in the State of California and Arizona called S.K.I.D.D.S. (SWAT & K9’s Interacting During Deployment School).

Lee Sands Lee has 18 years Law Enforcement experience. During his career Lee has worked in patrol operations, Detective Bureau and currently is assigned to the Training Bureau. Lee has served on several specialized units including the Canine unit and Special Response Team. While assigned to the Canine Unit Lee worked as a Patrol Canine handler and trainer. Lee has also worked on the Special Response Team as Entry team member and Sniper. Lee has instructed at the national level for the NPCA, USPCA and NAPWDA. Lee holds High liability instructor certifications in several areas.

Bill Sandman Bill is a 23-year veteran of the West Palm Beach, FL Police Department. He has been a SWAT team member for the past 15 years and serves as team leader and training coordinator. He is currently assigned to the training staff and serves as range master. Bill has extensive firearms training and holds instructor certification in pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, and the Sage SL-8 launcher. Bill is also an adjunct instructor for the Palm Beach Community College Criminal Justice Institute where he has taught defensive tactics, firearms and officer survival.

Dan Savage Dan has more than 24 years of Law Enforcement experience and is currently the full-time Special Response Team Commander for the Grand Rapids Police Department in Michigan. He has been involved in tactical operations for over 17 years and has held every rank and position on the Special Response Team. Dan holds instructor certifications in handgun, shotgun, Master submachine gun, Master TASER, distraction devices, OC aerosol projectors, specialty impact munitions, tactical chemical agents, Simunition scenario instructor and safety certification. Dan is Clandestine Lab certified, a site safety officer, and has attended several WMD tactical operator and commander courses. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session #217.

Tony Scotti Tony has been training people to protect themselves from violence for over 30 years. His name is synonymous with highrisk driving training and his clients are Heads of State, corporate executives, security driver/chauffeurs and professional security personnel in government and the private sector. He has trained more than 700 personnel from corporations in 29 countries on five continents. He teaches from hands-on, life experiences, which can only be acquired from a variety of environments, some of which find crime and terrorism a daily occurrence. Colombia, Peru, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, El Salvador, Haiti, and Pakistan are some of the countries in which his programs have been implemented.

Dave Spaulding Dave is a 27 year law enforcement veteran with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, OH where he currently holds the rank of Lieutenant. He has worked in all facets of Law Enforcement and corrections including Patrol, Evidence Unit, Investigations and Communications. He spent 12 years in SWAT operations and eight years as training coordinator. He left SWAT to be his department's Training Supervisor where he was responsible for all use-of-force instruction including firearms, defensive tactics, impact weapons and chemical weapons. He spent five years as the commander of a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that was involved in several nationwide investigations and was considered a model for similar task force operations. He has been involved in hundreds of raids, forced entry and room clearing situations looking for armed suspects. Dave is an author and an adjunct instructor at the Tactical Defense Institute and at Heckler & Koch International Training Division.

Trevin Sorby Trevin is a First Sergeant and has been a member of the Prince William County, Virginia Police Department for 15 years and has been a member of the SWAT team for the last 12 years, where he currently serves as an assistant team commander and training coordinator. He is currently assigned to the Special Operations Bureau and prior assignments include Patrol and Firearms Instructor. Trevin holds instructor certifications in firearms, less lethal, and defensive tactics

Bill Strang Bill is founder and President of Tactical & Survival Specialties, Inc. (TSSI) and is retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years active and reserve service. His military background is quite diverse spending over half of his career assigned to Naval Construction Force Units (Seabee's). In addition to being Seabee Combat Warfare qualified, Bill was also recognized as a Master Training Specialist and Instructor in small arms marksmanship, crew served weapons, small unit tactics, and law enforcement and physical security skills. Concurrently, Bill has been involved in the law enforcement and military special operations community for over 20 years providing tactical equipment, technical and logistic support. He holds certifications as an instructor in chemical munitions, distraction devices, and the MP5 submachine gun.

Dr. Richard T. Tovar Richard is a board certified emergency physician and medical toxicologist. He is also a sworn police officer in New Berlin, Wisconsin. He has been active on the New Berlin Police Department SWAT team for 10 years. He is a less lethal, OC and TEMS instructor. Dr. Tovar has published numerous articles on tactical and forensic medicine. He is a member of the Joint Terrorist Task Force for domestic security for the southeastern Wisconsin region.

Joe has been with the Clifton, NJ Police Department for the past 27 years. A decorated Marine Corps veteran with Vietnam combat service, Joe is assigned to the Tactical Response Team as a Bomb Technician and Tactical/Firearms Instructor. He is currently assigned as Senior Police Training Advisor for the Passaic County Police Academy New Jersey and has been a consultant in explosive entry for the past 11 years

John is the six-time New York Times best-selling co-author of nine Rogue Warrior books and the author of the acclaimed CIA short story, There Are Monsterim, which was selected for Best American Mystery Stories, 1997. He also wrote Shadow Warrior, the best-selling story of Cuban CIA agent Felix Rodriguez, as well as three well-received prior novels. A former journalist, he has worked in more than three dozen countries. From 1994-2002, he war-gamed counterterrorist tactical scenarios at the Heckler & Koch International Training Division. His affiliations include the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and the International Defensive Pistol Association.

Matt Verardo Matt is a retired Senior Police Officer from the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the Patrol Division and the Special Operations Division as a motorcycle officer and a SWAT team member. While on the SWAT team, Matt served as a pointman, sniper and team leader. Matt has extensive experience instructing tactical operations and firearms to Law Enforcement and Military tactical operators from the US and our international partners. Matt is currently active in the Intelligence Community.

Kathleen Vonk Kathleen has worked the street as a police officer in Michigan since 1988. She designed and implemented the police cyclist program for the Ann Arbor Police Department. She is the current Vice President and former President of the International Police Mountain Bike Association. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a certified Physical Fitness Specialist and a Certified Health Promotion Director. She designed, implemented, and currently instructs the fitness program for the Washtenaw Community College Public Service Training Program. She has published numerous articles in the IPMBA News, Law & Order, and ASLET's Trainer. She holds a BS in Exercise Physiology and a BA in Criminal Justice.

Mike Walden Mike Walden is a 30 year veteran of Law Enforcement. During his career at the Lakeland Florida Police Department he became the senior defensive tactics and firearms instructor. He is certified as a shotgun, pistol, submachinegun and carbine instructor. Mike was assigned to the Special Weapons and Tactics team in 1984 and served in the capacity of operator and team leader until 1997. He is actively involved in the Martial Arts of Jiu-Jitsu and Kick Boxing and trains officers in ground defense and survival tactics. He currently is a Sergeant in the Uniformed Patrol Division and supervises day to day operations.

Ty Weaver Ty Weaver is Blackhawk?s Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager has spent the last 9 years managing and coordinating sales activities in the military, law enforcement and commercial markets. Ty was the Director of Tactical Weapons Division for Sage International. He was also the East Coast Law Enforcement Sales and Marketing Senior Manager for FN Herstal, USA and Operations Manager for Heckler & Koch where he was responsible for the Warehouse, Security, Customer Service, Repair and Procurement Departments. Ty served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Crew Chief for the F-4 and F-15. He also served as a police officer in Pennsylvania.

Mike Williams Mike is currently a Captain and Director of Training for the Chattanooga Police Department in Tennessee. As a 30 year Law Enforcement veteran and a 25 year veteran as a SWAT officer, he served as Team Leader and Team Commander and still acts as a senior advisor and trainer. He has taught local, state, federal and international students on Tactical Firearms and Tactical Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the IALEFI Board of Directors and editor of its magazine, The Firearms Instructor. Mike testifies as an expert witness in State and Federal Courts on the Police Use of Force.

Robert C. Willis Bob has trained federal, state and local agencies and officers for over 25 years in the areas of defensive tactics, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, vehicle contacts, professional communications, constitutional law, report writing and numerous other disciplines. For a decade he co-presented the Calibre Press “Street Survival® Seminar” across the USA and Canada. Bob has been a patrol officer, "SWAT" team member, field training officer, departmental training officer, recruit academy and inservice academy instructor, a “train-the-trainer,” an officer survival instructor and lecturer and a litigation consultant. Russian Firearms Familiarization At the end of this intensive three day course, students will receive a certification equivalent to the Armed Forces Russian Weapons Familiarization Course certificate. Active Countermeasures Tactical Instructor This program is designed to prepare instructors to train tactical operators and/or patrol officers in how to utilize control tactics with their firearms drawn. The use of control tactics with a drawn handgun is usually overlooked in traditional defensive tactics training program.
