The process listed below will guide you in the installation of spectrum. Before starting the installation, the first and foremost thing is to check the Machine configuration. Zen Spectrum software will work on the following listed Operating systems:

OS Requirement: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Windows XP Sp2 [All Version including x32 & x64 Bit] Windows 2000 with SP4 [All Version] Windows VISTA [All Version including x32 & x64 Bit] Windows 7 [All Version including x32 & x64 Bit] All Windows Server Edition with Service Pack.

Hardware Requirement: a. b. c. d.

Processer – Minimum Pentium IV RAM – 1 GB HDD Space – 2 GB CD Drive / USB Enable on client computer.

Note: The following process will help you in finding out whether the computer is having a 32bit or a 64-bit operating system.

Options 1: Finding the OS Version of the computer: 

Right click on My Computer and click on Property.

How to find the (x32 & x64 Bit) Compatibility of client machine: 

This is a very simple process to find out the OS version of client computer‟s. First you have to go to Operating system root Drive where OS is installed [i.e. “C:\”] and if you are getting there Program Files (x86) than this is an x64 bit Operating System.



Go to “RUN”, type “\windows “and click „OK‟. One window will appear, if SysWOW64 is available there, then the operating system is (x64 Bit):

Option 2: Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server  

Click on Start-button, go to Control panel and choose Performance and Maintenance and then System. Under the General sheet you have: System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version 2003 Service Pack 3

 If you cannot find x64 edition on the second line, you have a 32-bit operating system.  Content may be different pending which operating system and language you have, the second line could read Home edition, Professional edition, and others. The important thing is to look for x64 edition; if this is not present then you have 32-bit.

Windows Vista / Windows 2008 Server

 Click on start-button, go to Control Panel and choose System and Maintenance and then System.  System should display the following: Rating: Processor: Memory(RAM): System type: 64-bit Operating System.

 If System type is 64-bit Operating system, you have 64-bit operating system, if System type is 32-bit Operating System you have a 32-bit Operating System.

Windows 7

 Click on Start-button  Right click on Computer and choose Properties  Under System - System type, the type of operating system, 32-bit or 64-bit, will be displayed.

Installation Process: [Auto Installation Process through Flash Screen]

Step 1: Insert the software CD in CD Rom or Insert the USB Drive for Software Setup. After installation of software media, the screen (as shown on the right hand side) will be opened. Click “Next” on this screen.

Step 2: Click on KDK Support Files in the screen shown for installing all the Prerequisites.

The following is the list of Prerequisites for this installation:       

    

MySql 4.0.13 SQL Connector 3.51 Driver JAVA 5.0 Update 4. VB Runtime. Resource.

CR Runtime MDAC [Microsoft Data Access Component]. WMI [Windows Management instrumentation]. Windows Installer 3.1. Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express. KDK Support.Msi

KDK Support.Msi - Spectrum prerequisites i.e. dll, vxd, ocx, Distance chart list, TIN FC Canter list, all BSR Code list, Provided software Tools, MICR Code list, STD list, ISD List, etc.. will install after done the installation of KDK Support

Step 3: After Clicking on the KDK Support Files the screen (as shown on the right hand side) will appear:

Now in the box below all those prerequisites is ready for Install so, for the installation click on “Install” Button.  During the installation, all the installations will appear in visible mode but there is no need to manually precede the same.  If you are getting “DB893803v2 Setup Error” message box, this means that there is no need to install the windows installer in this computer. Hence, click on “OK” button for further process. 

As soon as the installation of all the process gets completed, a message “Succeeded” will be displayed.



Now for the installation of “KDK Support.msi” click on “Next”.

Select the Option “I accept the term in the license agreement” and click on “Next”.



In this window you have to enter the Client’s Name and Organization and click on “Next”.



The default location for the installation of the software is mentioned in this screen. But if you want to change the installation path of the software, you can do so by clicking on the “Change” button and selecting the requisite path. Note: During the auto installation if your operating system is installed in drive C: then your database will automatically be installed in Drive C:\MySql\



The Next screen will appear for the installation of KDK Support File in your computer. For the same to proceed, click on “Install”.



As the installation is finished, the screen (as shown on the right hand side) will appear. Click on “Finish” to finish the installation.

Step 4: Now click on “Installation” to install the software.

 After Clicking on Installation the screen (as shown on the right) will appear. Click on Cancel and then again click on “Installation”.

 The next screen will list out the software *Spectrum, IT Autitor & e-TDS+ for installation. You can select the requisite software which you want to install. Say, Spectrum needs to be installed, click on Spectrum.

 The Installation process is started in the next screen (as shown)

 To continue with the installation, click on “Next”

 In the next screen, select the option ‘I Accept the term in the license agreement’ and click on Next.

 In this screen, you have to enter the Client’s Name and Organization. Click on “Next”



 In the next screen, click on “Install” button to start the process of installation.

 This is the last step in the process of installation. To finish the installation, click on “Finish”.

Connection Checking Process: Step 5: Before starting the software, please check whether the below mentioned components connection and Services are working properly or not. Require components connection & Services are: 

MySQL Database Services



Connectivity DataViewer.exe



Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Services.



Query Express.exe Connectivity.

Issue A: Checking MySQL Services 

Go to ‘C:\MySQL\bin\’ and double click on “winmysqladmin.exe”



Enter the Username (KDK) & password (KDK) and click on “OK” in the following screen.



After having done the above, a Traffic Signal ICON will appear on the right bottom side of your desktop. If the light is ‘Green’, it means the services of MySQL are working properly.



If the light is “Red” then the services of MySQL has been blocked by Antivirus Firewall.



In the above case, ‘Allow’ MySQL services Full Permission in your Antivirus Firewall.

Issue B: Connectivity of Dataviewer.exe 

Go to ‘C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software\KDK Support\’ and double click on icon “Data Viewer.exe”



The below mention dialog box will appear on your computer.

In this window, click on “Connect” for checking the connection of MySQL.



If you are getting the message: Error Number: -2147467259 can’t connect to MySQL server

on

‘Localhost’

(10061) that means MySQL Services is not running properly. Solution: In this case first you have to check the ‘Green Light’ Signal of MySQL.



If you are getting the message: Error Number: -2147467259 Data source name not found and no default driver specified. Solution: In This case in your computer MySQL ODBC Connector 3.51 Driver is not installed so, go to software CD and install ODBC Connector 3.51 Driver manually.

If the following screen appears after clicking on “Connect”, it means that the connection has been successfully succeeded.

Issue C: Checking Microsoft SQL Server express services. 

Click Start  Run and type services.msc, the below mentioned Services window will appear:



In this screen, check whether the SQL Services (KDKSQL) is started or Not. If the services is in the mode of Started then go for next process otherwise there is some problem in services of SQL.

Issue D: Query Express.exe Connectivity. 

Open My Computer.



Step 5: All the connections have been successfully installed. You can use your software.

Software Updation Process:  Software Can be updated through the following listed methods: 

Auto Updation *Minimum Update+ Full Updation  Offline Updation  Networking Updation 

Auto Updation * Minimum Update / Pop-up Update + – If your software is not updated with the latest version, then at the time of starting the software a pop-up message for live updation will come. 

In the pop-up message (as shown), the version details updated latest on the website can be checked by clicking on New Version Tips.



The new version detail, as described above, is shown in the screen here.

Minimum update - In this type of update, the add-ons (additions) from the previous update will be updated. 

For updation Click on Yes. Notes: 1. In this screen you will not be allowed to change software, Location & Target path. 2. Before starting the updation, you need to close all the open applications of KDK Software both on server & entire client machine. 3. This update should be done on your Server machine only.

Full Updation – This type of update will update the whole software with the latest version. The following process needs to be followed for Full Updation:



Go to location Start  Programs  K.D.K. Software  KDK Support and click on

 You can also open the update.exe from location C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software\KDK Support

 You can also download update.exe from www.kdkupdate.com



Double click on “update.exe”. The screen as shown below will appear.  Select “Live updation”  Select “Full Update”  Click on “OK”

Note:- Before starting the updation, you need to close all the KDK Software Applications both on server & entire client machine.

 Select the requisite Software for updation.  You have also to select the target path *software installed location path+ manually.  Click on “Update”.



The message as shown will appear as you start the update. Click ‘Yes’



The updation will be started as you click “Yes” on the above message.



A message showing “Updation Completed” will appear before you on the completion of update. Click on ‘OK’ and run the software.

Ofline Updation – If internet connection is not available on the server machine, then the software can be updated through the following process: 

Go on a computer, where internet is connected.



Create a New folder on your desktop named as “update”.



Open the website www.kdkupdate.com



Download the items mentioned against Sr. No. 1 to 10 excluding Sr. No. 8 in Update folder created above.



Download the item against Sr. No. B. Update Utility(Live)



Copy the Update folder from Internet machine to Server (software server) Machine.



Open Update folder and double click on update.exe.



Select the option “Updation from CD/HDD” and click on ‘OK’



Set the configuration of update as: 

Select the Product Name.



Click on Browse in the source path and select the location of Update folder.



Choose the target path where your software is installed in your computer.



Click on “Update” to start updation. A message as “Updation completed” will appear

as

Networking Updation – If you are using the software on multiple nodes, then you need not update the software on all the client machine. Instead the following process may be followed: 

Update the software with the latest available version, through pop-up message. This updation is required to be done only on the server machine.



After updating the software on the server, when you open the software on client computer *Node Machine+ you’ll get a message “do you want to update your product from server”. Click on ‘Yes’.



Click “Update” to start the updation process.



On successfully completion of the updation, click OK on the message “updation Completed” and run the software.

Software Lan Setting Process  Software can be used by multiple users through LAN setting. The following details will help you in LAN Settings. Before starting LAN settings, the followings things should be ensured: 

Find the IP Address & Host Name of your Server Machine.



Check the connectivity of both the computers.



Allow sharing of K.D.K. Software folder to everyone.



Allow the security of K.D.K. Software folder to everyone.

Finding the IP Address & Host name of computer: 

Go to Start  Run. Type cmd and click Ok.



Type ipconfig /all and press Enter. In this window the Host name and IP will appear. (As Host Name = KDK & IP Address

= 192.168.131.66

is

appearing on the screen)

Checking the connectivity of computers: 

Firstly, find out the IP Address of Node and Server. If both the IP’s are similar i.e. of Three Digits

(ie.

192.168.131.68

&

192.168.131.52) then this is the same network. 

Go to Node



Click on Start  Run, type cmd and click Ok.



Type Ping 192.168.131.66 (server IP) in the opened screen and press Enter.



If “reply from server” is seen in the screen (as shown below), the connection is correct and you can proceed for the next process.

Allowing the Sharing of K.D.K. Software to Everyone: 

Go to C:\Program Files



Right click on the folder K.D.K. Software and click on Property. 

Select option sharing.



Select option Share this folder.



Select option Maximum allowed.



Click on Permission.



Click on Add.



Click on Advance.



Click on Find Now and select Everyone.



Click on Ok.



In the next screen, again click on Ok.



Allow Full Control



Click on Apply



Click on Ok



In this screen also click on Apply



Click on Ok



Go to C:\Programe Files, you’ll get there K.D.K. Software folder in sharing mode.

Allowing Security of K.D.K. Software to Everyone: 

Go to C:\Program Files



Right click on folder named as K.D.K. Software and click on Property.



Select Security Note: If you did not get Security option there, go to My Computer, Tools  Folder Option  View  Uncheck the option ‘Use Simple file sharing ,Recommended- from Advance setting list and click Apply & OK.



If you are not getting “Everyone” in the list of Group or user names then click on Add.



Add “Everyone” and accordingly Sharing step.



Allow Full Control and click on Apply & OK.



Click on Advanced button to allow the special permission.



In this screen, select the Permission tab.



Select Everyone from Permission entries list.



Select option “Replace permission entries on all child object with entries shown here that apply to child object”



Click on Apply



A message box as shown below will appear. Click Yes.



The system will accordingly transfer the permission through the below shown screen. Click OK whenever it gets completed.

Go to your Client Computer  Run  type \\ (server Host name/ Server IP Address) and click OK.



All the shared folders should be displayed on the server. If so, LAN setting process can be started.

 PROCESS FOR LAN SETTING: 

Go on your Node computer (Client machine).



Go to location C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software\KDK Support and double click on Lan Setup.exe.

 Set the below mention configuration in Lan Setup window: 

Click Edit.



Select the Product Name.



Click on Browse button on Server Name/IP.



Go to Entire Network.



Select Microsoft Windows Network



Select Workgroup/Domain.



Select the Server (Host Name) and click on Ok.



Now you will get IP address in box of Server Name/IP.



Click on browse button on Data Path and select the location of spectrum folder from server and click on OK.



After this you will get the location in Data Path (i.e. \\192.168.131.66\K.D.K. Software\Spectrum)



Click on Save.



Click on Close.

 Now run the software on Server. After that, open the software on Node Machine (Client Computer).

 You can notice that previously your node computer was opening in Demo Version but after Lansetting you are getting Lan Version.

Knowledgebase for Lan Setting: 1. After lan setting, the detail configuration of Lan setting is available at C:\Program Files\K.D.K. Software in the name of Config.lan. 2. You can also check the file configuration content after opening this file in notepad.



Basic Configuration detail of config.lan is: o

Spectrum = Software Name.

Spectrum = Database Name.

o

KDK = Mysql Connection.

o

192.168.131.66 = Server IP address.

o

\\192.168.131.66\K.D.K.Software\Spectrum = DataPath.
