Safety Information!

All of the necessary work must be performed by qualified persons with an appropriate level of expertise only.

Before starting the assembly procedure, carefully read the assembly instructions in full and pay attention to the safety information and sequence of the individual steps.

Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery when working on the vehicle electrical/electronics systems.

Preparation! Check the part list and ensure that all parts are included in the KIT before starting the job.

We recommend using a lift while installing the Kit.

Protect and clean any mounting surfaces on your vehicle.

Preparation! The splitter consist of three parts. The center piece, the driver side piece and the passenger side piece. The parts have to be mounted separately.

Instructions 218 CLS – 63 AMG – Front Splitter Removal of OE chin splitter and underbody panel fasteners 1. Start by removing the necessary underbody fasteners. 2. Take off two of the under body panel screws. One screw per side of vehicle (left hand side screw shown below)

To detach the OE chin splitter from the front fascia, start by removing the four upper plastic mounting clips behind/through the grill. We recommend using a pry tool and needle nose pliers, along with a flashlight.

The four lower plastic clips also need to be removed in order to remove the OE chin splitter. These are shown removed in the image below.

Instructions 218 CLS – 63 AMG – Front Splitter Installation of new splitter center section 1. Place the center section of the new splitter onto the front fascia. The RENNtech center section utilizes same lower grille slots as OE chin splitter.

Push the four lower OE plastic clips into the mounting holes located in the bottom side of the RENNtech center section piece.

Put the four upper OE plastic clips through the grill into the holes located behind the grill to finish the fastening of the center section piece on the car. *make sure the plastic clips are pressed in all the way and fully secure

There should be a 3-4mm gap between the side piece and the center section of the splitter. The edge of the fascia/grille opening should align with the edge of the side piece.

While holding the driver side part in the correct “installed” position on the car. Mark the fascia through bottom side mounting holes. These marks will be used for drilling the fascia, for mounting screws

Carefully drill holes into fascia at your (white) marked locations.

Hold the left side splitter piece up to the fascia. Create a tape line on the fascia just above the side splitter piece.

Instructions 218 CLS – 63 AMG – Front Splitter 10. Remove the side splitter piece. 11. Apply adhesion promoter to the fascia surface just below the tape line. The promoter solution will help attach the splitter section to the fascia surface.

Instructions 218 CLS – 63 AMG – Front Splitter 12. Hand tighten the OE underbody panel screw, which the side splitter utilizes for lower attachment. 13. The screw has to be loose so that the positioning of the side splitter piece is maneuverable for the following steps.

Instructions 218 CLS – 63 AMG – Front Splitter 14. Hold the left side splitter section in correct position on the fascia and slowly pull off the red tape backing. 15. Make sure to apply even pressure onto the side splitter section while pulling off the red tape backing.

Check List! Ensure that all components are mounted correct.

Splitter pieces should not get wet within 24 hours of installation so that the 3M adhesive and promoter have enough time to set and cure onto the vehicle.
