Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product. Failure to follow installation instructions and not using the provided hardware may damage the intake tube, throttle body and engine. 1. Preparing Vehicle

a. Make sure vehicle is parked on level surface. b. Set parking brake. c. If engine has run in the past two hours, let it cool down. d. Disconnect negative battery terminal. e. Jack up the front of the vehicle and support using properly rated jack stands. f. Do not discard stock components after removal of the factory system.

2. Removal of stock system

a. Remove four clips and remove air duct.

b. Unclip the four airbox clips and loosen the clamp at the throttle body. Unplug the MAF sensor.

c. Unhook the crankcase vent hose by sliding back the spring clamp, then pulling the hose off of the nipple on the inlet tube. Remove the airbox lid and stock inlet tube assembly.

d. Unclip the MAF sensor harness from the lower half of the airbox. Remove the three M6 bolts securing the lower airbox, and remove the lower airbox.

3

e. Remove the M6 bolt securing the washer bottle neck and unplug the right headlight.

f. Lift the car and remove the right front wheel. From underneath the vehicle, remove three clips and one screw from the inner wheel well liner. Pull the wheel well liner back out of the way.

g. Unplug the washer pump and washer fluid level sensor.

h. Remove two M6 bolts securing the washer bottle. Unplug the hose from the washer pump and remove the washer bottle from the car. Drain any remaining washer fluid into a clean container so it can be reused.

4

i. Remove the blue washer fluid cap from the washer bottle neck by carefully unsnapping it from the neck.

j. Using a flat head screwdriver, unclip the washer pump from the washer bottle as shown.

k. Pry the washer pump out of the grommet and set it aside. Also remove the grommet and set it aside.

l. Using two flat head screwdrivers, carefully pry up on the lip of the washer level sensor. Take care not to damage the rubber grommet. Some liquid soap and water mixture applied to the sensor may help with removal. Also remove the grommet and set it aside.

5

3. Installation of AEM® intake system. a. When installing the intake system, do not completely tighten the hose clamps or mounting hardware until instructed to do so.

b. Insert the stock washer pump grommet into the hole on the front of the supplied washer bottle.

c. Apply some liquid soap solution to the washer pump and insert it into the grommet. Firmly press the pump all the way into the grommet.

d. Install the level sensor grommet as shown.

e. Apply liquid soap solution to the level sensor and insert it into the grommet. Make sure that the level sensor is pressed all the way into the grommet. The lip of the sensor should be inside the grove of the grommet.

6

f. Apply the self adhesive rubber pad onto the protrusion on the underside of the washer bottle as shown. Set the new washer bottle assembly aside.

g. Disassemble the MAF from the airbox by removing the two screws. Also loosen the clamp securing the rubber inlet hose to the MAF and remove the hose.

h. Install the upper pipe and 3.5” x 2” throttle body coupler as shown with two #60 Clamps. Secure the crankcase vent hose to the nipple on the inlet pipe with the OE spring clamp. Plug in the headlight unplugged in Step 2e.

i. Attach the MAF sensor to the upper pipe as shown using the 3.5” x 3” coupler and two #60 clamps. Be sure that the MAF sensor is oriented as shown, and arrow on the MAF is pointing toward the engine.

j. Install the supplied M6 rubber mount from the underside of the bracket as shown.

k. Install the washer bottle assembly and attach it with two of the M6 bolts removed in step 2d.

7

l. Install the lower pipe with the 4.0” x 2” coupler and two #64 clamps. Align the bracket with the rubber mount and secure it with the washer and M6 nut.

m. From underneath the car, install the filter with the #64 clamp. Slide the filter onto the end of the pipe until the pipe reaches the stop inside the filter, then tighten the clamp.

n. If the vehicle is equipped with fog lights, unwrap the wire loom as shown and separate the fog light wires.

o. Install the supplied section of wire loom on the exposed fog light wires and secure it with tape. Unclip the washer fluid hose from the clip that attaches it to the inner fender, and push the hose and two wire connectors up top behind the headlight.

p. Plug in the washer pump and washer fluid level sensor. Reattach the washer fluid hose to the pump and fill up the washer bottle, then snap on the blue washer fluid cap.

q. Reinstall the fender liner and wheel.

8

4. Reassemble Vehicle

a. Position the inlet pipes for the best fitment. Be sure that the pipes or any other components do not contact any part of the vehicle. Tighten the rubber mount, all bolts, and hose clamps. b. Check for proper hood clearance. Re-adjust pipes if necessary and re-tighten them. c. Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or removed are properly tightened. d. Reconnect negative battery terminals and start engine. Let the vehicle idle for 3 minutes. Perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.
